Some of your episodes reminds me of Anthony bourdain’s show, I would strongly suggest you guys keep doing what your doing, money will follow hopefully.
@@maverickrollsonwhat was even more sad or disappointing rather, was how he chose to leave the world behind, Bourdains travels were not merely based on the culinary experience, he touched on an array of topics and issues related to any country he visited, and also there is the element of mindset which influences alot with how people connect or relate to any given content. Just went back to the memory lane and those moments, thanks Sid. Like you I was born and brought up in CP & Chandni Chowk. It’s been long I went back and looking at you brought that nostalgia moment. Hope to visit my place sometime next year. Keep up the good work both of you!!!
Nice - I grew up and live in Delhi ... all the places u went to today are my fav .. location of neurula's has changed in CP, and chungwa in GKII market .. its still the same 🙂
I don’t know why you guys are not getting that many views . People will watch all your episodes few years down the line and will rue not watching it in time . All the best guys . Keep grinding
Loved the episode boys. Cheers. The onky thing good at Nirula's is their HCF, which still hasn't changed and is still one of the better ice creams/sundaes. The chindese food looked great.
Awesome! Loved the choice of nostalgic restaurants . Brings back childhood memories of growing up and frequenting these haunts . Chungwa bring the top favourite then and continues to be so even now .
Loved the show guys ! One recommendation...you should absolutely try *_VELOX_* in Daryaganj and their Mutton Mandi, Mutton Panjas (Ribs) & Mutton Nallis (Bbq Mutton Shanks) Amazing Food
Nirula's has gone through change overall. I remember one of my professors who was the HOD of the Hospitality and Tourism wing of the college mentioned that Nirula's has shut down but coming back in partnership with a Singapore organization as the Management. It so happened, that when we graduated 11 of my batchmates got selected for the role of Shift Manager (8 through campus placement, 3 got rejected through campus placement went directly and got through) and 11 new Nirula's outlets were opening. I also, remember once I had a burger and Pizza at one of the outlets with a friend and I just did not like it as it had some of the vegetables that I had never seen in McD (BurgerKing hadn't entered India) as McD burgers were the burgers for reference point I am talking about late 2000s. However, their Ice-creams were the savior. This was the first place where I tried Hot Chocolate Fudge.
@@TheBigForkers I can totally relate to the Nirula's not being up to the mark. Also, I think Wenger's and other places have lost it's charm because some stand alone restaurants/cafes/bakery houses owners / chefs have worked abroad got experience and brought the current western food tastes, and also because you guys have well-traveled so the reference point or you guys is quite high there. Which sure in my opinion is probably quite right as in how it should taste.
In Baroda , you use to get Cold Coco and the other one was called Fruit salad ( right name as u correctly said is Fruit custard) in those glasses… Good Old days
That was a hilarious episode. I remember how BLOWN AWAY I was by Nirula's when I first had it in Delhi and I really loved it. Now just seeing the food I can tell I would absolutely HATE IT.
Being from Delhi this is made by someone who is a Dilli wala and its visible. That essence people wont understand this at all. But apne gol gappe galat Bengali sweet ke kha liye. The one in front of Nathu is the best
Love your show guys. Totally agree with Shanky - nostalgia is good in memories 😊… oh and not all American BBQ is sweet. Eastern Carolina style uses vinegar & chilli based sauce which quite nice unlike the sweet molasses based sauces
True true, we covered Austin in a series before and North Texas is far from sweet. Carolinas "low country" style however is still a tad sweet from the apple juice
in 90s, Mumbai, there use be a Chinese stall called Rice Bowl in front of national college in Bandra, the food was just wow , of course it was Chinese + Indian tastewala fusion, Then, I was a chef in 5 star brand in Mumbai but on my day off, after a show in Gaiety, Galaxy cinema, Rice bowl was a place I use to eat & I realize how difficult it is to sell authentic Chinese cuisine in India
Wenger's make the best Shami kebabs in the world. From 1975 till today I enjoy. Cream roll was my wife's favourite. Nirulas hamburger steak I miss. Alfonso with icecream and banana split triple sundae I just adore. For nostalgia go to Indian Coffee house ( only one left ) at Mohan Singh place
Please also tour iconic & old restaurants such as Gaylord, United Coffee House, Quality, Embassy. It wld like going down memory lane for lots of us. Before these malls Cannaught Place & Defence Colony were the places everyone went to eat the best food
I was expecting some phoney reviews for Nirulas and Wengers due to the nostalgia factor but you gave spot on correct analysis... Bc ab nhi h vo taste to nhi h... Baat khatam... Glad to see that😅
These places has lost their charm due to sub standard quality of ingredients and due to standardization and qsr model!! They were meant to be made to order . Wengers being an exception
Indian viewers are a lot wider than the Hindi speaking middle India. But yeah, that's where the masses watch. That is not the audience that cares about our show.
while you both can burst out anytime suggest give some morsels to your cameraman//his camera is out of focus most of the time//nirulas is garbage, a bigger cow dung is bengali sweets///total shit//modernites wud slither out of sight the moment the columbans in delhi wud come on the scene//there was total difference in breeds///chungwa is about ok chinese joint

Thanks man, love these comments that mention the late great Bourdain
Agreed 100% its being genuine that matters. Which these guys are. Always very refreshing.
Bourdain was another level .. had tears when he left this world… forkers are far far from it yet..

Less people watch this channel..but those who watch get inspired by genuine and beautiful content.
Less is more when the quality of viewership is good... Appreciate you guys for sharing it with your friends.. ❤️
Puffs from Wenger's and milk shake from Keventers, chole bhature from Bengali market....true nostalgia. Wish I was there!!
Even Keventer's shakes are not the same. The taste is overshadowed by my bitter disappointment each time I went there in the past couple years.
Who ever did edits and effects for this video needs a raise. I am watching this after high. And effects are really making me tipsye 😅
Big fan of the two of you. Love how you are unapologetic and genuine the two of you are. Lots of love.

Kake da hotel & Anand Dhaba in CP, Sitaram Diwanchand, Pindi Meat & Tawa, Novelty Jangpura, Ashok &Ashok - my og nostalgia eateries in Delhi 🍲🍻

the hate for house of mandarin continues😂😂 love it lmao
Chicken and mushroom puffs from Wengers are legendary!

Thanks for sharing this. Sid here, I had last eaten Nirulas perhaps in the early 80's and never until the shoot. So it was quite disappointing

It’s been over 20 years since I ate at a nirulas and I live in delhi 😂
One of the best food series of all times
Hi Big Big Forker... I just didn't watch your videos for many long months.. just keeping it stored for Diwali...

Back in 1990's even coming to nirulas or Wimpy's was a luxury to us. ठेले पर ₹5 की टिक्की और nirulas big big difference
That is very true

I'm glad I'm watching the forkers before they get immensely famous and I know they will.
Awe...thanks

I'm there every month ya... But very lil to cover I feel.. Please suggest if you know some specific places.
bro.. You are fucking Awesome!! Loved this content.. Hope see such videos more often.
I would like to know what shanky’s nostalgia would be
Have stood in line on
A X-Mas to Wengers
Sometimes , memories are the people we have it with , or having no people in it.

Nirula's mustard sauce.... yum
Too natural 🎉

no bro isnt it hakka food
its called Hakka, but it is mostly Cantonese which is sort of similar
Nirulas is known for the chicken and mutton chops 😢
That's new
Bro honestly Capsicum is a major problem these days , people poot capsicum in everything.
Capsicum everywhere
And it's not even that cheap anymore
Rs. 26 for one capsicum is ridiculous
Chacha Chaudhary N Saboo of 2024
Something like that
These places has lost their charm due to sub standard quality of ingredients and due to standardization and qsr model!! They were meant to be made to order . Wengers being an exception
