Absolutely Outstanding. What a wonderful discovery this pianist is.
oh my gosh, this last etude is played so perfectly. The voicing is perfect, played with the right amount agressivity and passion. Marvelous.
This is the first time ive seen someone play all of op39 in one take... BRAVOO!!!
I've never heard No.1 in c minor played quite like that before! It was so satisfyingly clear.
Right?! Neither have I. I found it refreshingly fantastic
@@alexkliever4659 2:15 is my favourite part when it goes slow then speeds right up again with the heavy bass. This has tk be my favourite piece I've heard ao complex
@@merciatreasurehunting6244 yes! That’s exactly how I’ve thought that part should be played. Also check out the Brilliant Classics 2019 album “Virtuoso Piano Etudes, Vol. 3” performer Zlata Chochieva, which can be found on IMSLP in the performances section when you search Rach’s Op. 39 Etudes Tableaux. It’s on the same level as Redkin’s performance. My other favorites in Op. 39 are no. 2, with its tragic imagery of war devastation. No. 5…the passion is unreal in the return of the theme with its huge unrelenting chords and octaves! The melancholic winter nostalgia of no. 8. These are some of the pieces that really make me feel on a deeper level….things/emotions/tragedies that I personally haven’t even experienced in my own life.
At last a pianist that brings out the inner voicings and melodic lines of the beautiful D minor Etude #8.
Solyom does also, and is more in the Richter train than the very subjective performers mentioned by the Great Authority on Pretense above.
@Mazzel Tov way more vividly and detalized than them all ( except Volodos whom I didn't hear).
Angelich does it also, and perfectly
@@maquina7002 yes, I bought his CD several years ago.
Everyone misses the hidden melody at 34:12
Just simply sheer perfection! Only 3 ppl in the world play this perfectly and its STUNNING! AND RACHMANINOFF...THE MASTER!!"Oh my weary hands "ndeed
Wowww 39/4 and 39/9 are soo hardd
Especially 4th
Bravo
Awesome !!! What a performance .... he makes these extremely difficult pieces sound easy, and they not.
Nice no.4. Haven't listened to the rest yet.
I think Rachmaninoff would have thoroughly enjoyed these interpretations of his etudes - Redkin brings out the inner voices and moods that are so important here
Fabulous playing!
Beautiful interpretation! Love it!
Extraordinary sound and imagination. Thoroughly enjoyed your interpretations. Thank you very much!
I'm into your performance for a moment. 'Amazing"
Love the pause at 3:03

Wow, excellent performance!
Rachmaninov`s etudes tableaux are the best piano etudes in the 20th century for me..ok, I also like the debussy, the rautavara and the ligeti etudes, but nevertheless^^
Perfect balance between intelligence and extraordinary musicality. Bravo!!!
19:35 - 19:52 gave me chills! Where the heck did you come from!?
What does it take to perform Rachmaninov’s music fantastically? Lyrical episodes must be cede. This pianist doesn't know about it. It is closer to social realism.
His left hand is much weaker than the right and he sounds like Lugansky. There is not enough weight in the music and the balance is shifted. They both need to work on that.
