This young woman recently broke up with the Maui boyfriend. Probably meet some guy shortly after using an online dating app. I think she planned to miss that connecting flight to NY. Found out the hard way that online encounters can be dangerous. Especially in a snake pit like LA.

No, when I've missed a connection, it takes time to arrange a new flight and you're making calls to people at your final destination. She planned this and kept it on the down low.
