The present floor plan is unconventional, and I'd be inclined to create an upstairs bedroom with ensuite, make an opening between the kitchen and the adjacent room to be used as my living room, and to add a modest conservatory extension that would allow covered access to the utility room. I agree Bob! The room with the sliding doors would be a better fit for a living area/reception. An added bathroom upstairs and it would be a great movie room! I'd also have to take out the bathtub and put in a walk-in shower as well.
