@@typhoon123 Well, it is that scenario with the tree falling in a forest perhaps...what are quick climbs without anyone seeing it maybe? We know pilots love to get in contact with photographers and videographers of their manoeuvres...the TCS have sent a few bits of footage for certain takeoffs and low level action that the pilot has asked for as they were the pilot of that aircraft... I think they do...people are beginning to realise that when the TCS show up, something is going to happen. We really do get lucky most of the time. Only one actual blank in a year and a half and that was at Donna Nook...mind you, we did not publish a noTED at the time...
The F22s for example and the F16s knew exactly where we were stood and banked/tilted the aircraft/waved the jet exactly in the place we were stood...
So, I believe that some pilots do and this is a result for us wahhhhhhayyyyyyyyyy

Pilots must be like….”an I’m outa’ here”. Must be an unbelievable feeling to be at the controls of such thrust and power and speed. You can’t tell me that these fighter pilots, on occasion when not having to be 100% dedicated to a training mission or in actual combat, aren’t like….”weeeeee….this is some freakin’ fun and crazy stuff”. I know I would be having the time of my life.
Oiiii oiiii So, I can confirm that what you say is actually true. Firstly, speaking to pilots, a quick climb is amazing to do. Secondly, on Fridays at Lakenheath, this is why pilots opt out to execute a local climb out and request a ‘quick climb’. It is for that reason that a pilot wants feel the power and the adrenaline that comes with a quick climb. For us on the ground, it looks awesome
It is always fun to be right there on site when fighter jets are doing readiness takeoffs. It’s a visceral experience to feel those engines roaring.

Ooiiii oiiii Martin Cool, you will have fun here for sure. Well, basically we love being at the opposite of the runway in use. But for this particular spot, this is the runway 06 end. There is a footpath that takes you here from the main road that is adjacent to runway 06. Check out OS maps or similar to see the public footpath. Contact us via social media and we can send you the map.

Awesome video!! What is the camera setup here, if you don't mind me asking? I'm new the plane spotting game and I'm currently using iPhone 15 Pro Max with no kind of lens. I just ordered a telephoto zoom lens through ShiftCam in hopes of making it better. If that doesn't work then I may need spend a grand on a good camera.

You’re talking a dual engine plane vs a single engine one.The Lightning I believe is the most powerful single engine plane in the world. The Lightning had incredible performance without a doubt but it had short range.

16th no for LN. 17th not sure what time the notams said for the opening of the aerodrome. Will find out later

No audio can ever convey the actual noise and vibration of being there. Deafening is an understatement. You have to experience it to know. 115dBa measured with F-15s on normal take off at departure end of rwy 24, unrestricted climb much louder. I personally dont find the F-35s much different in sound levels, although they are supposed to be.
I think when you are stood this close, loud is loud, even the F22s sounded awesome. F15s tend to be louder high up in the skies from what we have heard anyway. Then again Typhoons are also very loud. I’m other experiences F35Bs when doing a slow low approach are also deafening too.
Conclusion, they are all loud lol 😂
Indeed, no recording will do it justice. During the initial takeoff run orientation seems to matter a lot, we had a parking lot for a school building maybe 400 feet behind the start of the runway our local F-16s used (Close enough you could see the nozzles dilate), and even being single engined, your word "deafening" is the only thing that comes to mind. Sound as an analog spectrum ceases to exist, the same way as if you've ever been in a cave or mine with the lights off, it's true black, color ceases to exist. It's just a singular entity -black in a cave, or a roar behind the runway.
