Good afternoon from Scotland! This was originally released by the UK artist Rag N' Bone Man and it suits Diana's contralto vocals perfectly. I always have to remind myself that she was only 15yo here and under competition restrictions, hence the shortened version. There are few female vocalists out there (of any age) who could do the entire performance in such a low tone I believe? Great reaction again, keep up the good work! Hear that opening guitar rift and I expected to hear......."Listen to the wind bloooooooooow" The Fleetwood Mac song "The Chain" I dunno, I'm thinking she has a unique "odd" tone and, really, it's masculine sounding. I cannot walk away and say it's a beautiful tone. Like a Sarah Mclachlan. But,.yeah it's different and unique and worthy of critique. And gets people watching videos of vocal coaches giving their critiques.
I think the surprise / shock is hearing a contralto voice - it's not often heard in "popular" music - Cher is an example, but, without Diana's versatility.

And yeah, that is a where the comparisons stop. Cher is Pop and this girl is..... Contemporary, I guess? She's good and has a unique voice. I'll give her that. Artists like Stevie Nicks, Bonnie Tyler, Rod Stewart, Tom Petty, Bob Dylan had unique voices for their time also. With most them being song writers also.
I'm not an expert here, but when you say it sounds "covered", are you sure that's it and that it doesn't sound like that to you because of the natural overtones in her voice? I think that can cause the same effect here. Again, I might be completely wrong, just a thought from an amateur :)

Her voice doesn't sound human. Too forced into a strange monster sounding effect. Her talking voice is much better.
The thing is, it's not forced - according to Diana herself, this is one of the easier songs for her as it's spot on her vocal singing register.
