Dimash was invited by China to perform in Singer 2017, a talent competition between professionals. He invited in as a wild card. This was his first performance on the show. He pretty much won over China and through the next shows, all the world. You should watch his version of ALL BY MYSELF on Singer 2017. He has a unique way of ending it. People get so emotional during the song, it kind of lightens things for them. He is just learning English on Singer, so please indulge him.
Dimash has at least between 30 to 40 different performances of SOS, and everybody can choose their favorite one. I actually like this one better too for the same reason, but even more I love his latest performances because they are even more emotionally mature. Yes, I like this performance more too. The other one is good and Dimash prefers it as it was later on and he could fix some pronunciation mistakes, but this one was when he first made a mark on the world stage. His aim here was to showcase range and register, whereas in the other one he could be smoother and more comfortable.

I'm first it looks like. Dimash did this song in a contest called The Singer in 2017 I think was the year. I've been watching him ever since and think he is the best singer in the world. I think he won in another contest against adults when he was 15 and was given special permission to be in it. TH-cam has lots of videos of him much younger singing and by the way he even sang at the Kremlin in Russia as he can sing in about 12 languages. Thank you for another reaction for this fine singer.

Versions in Post Soviet countries in front of VIPs can't be live by definition, nobody will allow that. It's not up to the performers at all. Not New York this is China. Every performance of SOS, and there are many, is completely different you might like to check out some of his Solo Concert performances and the Tokyo Jazz Festival livestream. This was a chinese show for highly respected, and famous professional singers to compete, Dimash from Kazakhstan was the only non Chinese singer invited because the producer saw him perform for the Chinese and Kazakh presidents and was very impressed. He is from Kazakhstan in Central Asia, so half in Europe and half in Asia, he is 6ft 3, 1/4 (191.4 cm) tall and was the youngest ever competitor here in 2017 at only 22 years old and the people you see backstage in the green room are the other competitors, This was his first performance on the show and the audience went wild for him. When the show was broadcast on tv he had to have bodyguards for the first time in his life as he had become a superstar overnight in China. His first album in 2019 went platinum in 37 seconds and triple platinum in an hour, sales are now way past this. He is now a world class artist, still just turned 26 on the 24th of May but touring the world to sell out arenas with his solo concerts, including the Barclays Centre in New York last December (tour is on hold until next year due to covid-19) he also performs in concerts with the famous russian composer Igor Krutoy, is constantly collecting awards, attends many prestigious red carpet events, film festivals and even models for lots of high end fashion houses. I'm first it looks like. Dimash did this song in a contest called The Singer in 2017 I think was the year. I've been watching him ever since and think he is the best singer in the world. I think he won in another contest against adults when he was 15 and was given special permission to be in it. TH-cam has lots of videos of him much younger singing and by the way he even sang at the Kremlin in Russia as he can sing in about 12 languages. Thank you for another reaction for this fine singer.
This performance made Dimash a star in China. It was a contest of popular singers in China where Dimash, an unknown singer was invited as a wild card and surprised the chinese audience and the rest of the world.
Perfection. This is the ultimate, the best, version he ever did of SOS and 100% live, contrary to some of the other versions on TH-cam.
A great majority of his SOS versions on YT are live (from all his solo concerts and many other shows). Versions in Post Soviet countries in front of VIPs can't be live by definition, nobody will allow that. It's not up to the performers at all. As to what the best version is - it is a matter of personal taste. i love his latest interpretations more.
This is my favourite version, closely followed by the Turkish Bazaar one. But I read that he prefers later ones where he had a chance to correct some of his French pronunciation.

Dimash Kudaibergen was a last-minute inclusion (a 'dark horse'). But his performance of 'SOS D'un Terrien En Detresse' electrified the audience, his fellow competitors and the viewers who numbered in the billions (this program was one of the most-watched in China and outside).
They also got him the nickname "Important little brother" the day after the show. They also had to get bodyguard for Dimash do to the famous over night both in China and also the world. Dimash wasent really prepared for that. He had come to China att 22 years young man by him self and didn’t knew the language. They hade contracted him for 2 showes becouse they dident think he cold go father than that. He didn’t think they would like him. So he was nervous this performers that he had also to start the show with. But they hade to change that.
Dimash got many new friends from this show and he saide at some point he learned a lott from it to.

Some info about Dimash.
He is from Kazakhstan and has been music scholld sens 5 years old and told the teachur that the piano was out of tune! He Sings aboute 6-7 oktaves or so! No one knows he is still learning. He sings higher than the piano kan go! He also writs and compose own songs, playes bunch of instruments including Dombra there own kazakh instrument that has a sound you cant belive! He also sings in aboute 12 languages and speaks 4 so far. He is born in 1994.
Dimash has an excellent education: he graduated from the College of Music with a degree in Opera Singing, university of arts in the specialty "Estrada and jazz vocals", and on June 18, 2020, he completed a master's degree in Composition. He graduated with a degree in opera from the music school at the University of Aktobe (2014), a degree in pop/jass from the National Arts University in Nur Sultan (2018), just completed his Master's degree in composition (June 2020) and approved to start his PhD.
Well here are the start of his carrier and he still are learning his voice. If you go from this you see how good he was and also later how good he have become. He has done so mutch and also done songs for movies and games and mutch more.

Not New York this is China. Every performance of SOS, and there are many, is completely different you might like to check out some of his Solo Concert performances and the Tokyo Jazz Festival livestream. This was a chinese show for highly respected, and famous professional singers to compete, Dimash from Kazakhstan was the only non Chinese singer invited because the producer saw him perform for the Chinese and Kazakh presidents and was very impressed. He is from Kazakhstan in Central Asia, so half in Europe and half in Asia, he is 6ft 3, 1/4 (191.4 cm) tall and was the youngest ever competitor here in 2017 at only 22 years old and the people you see backstage in the green room are the other competitors, This was his first performance on the show and the audience went wild for him. When the show was broadcast on tv he had to have bodyguards for the first time in his life as he had become a superstar overnight in China. His first album in 2019 went platinum in 37 seconds and triple platinum in an hour, sales are now way past this. He is now a world class artist, still just turned 26 on the 24th of May but touring the world to sell out arenas with his solo concerts, including the Barclays Centre in New York last December (tour is on hold until next year due to covid-19) he also performs in concerts with the famous russian composer Igor Krutoy, is constantly collecting awards, attends many prestigious red carpet events, film festivals and even models for lots of high end fashion houses. He is university trained in Classical opera vocals to degree level, also holds a degree in contemporary pop music and jazz with a major in vocals, has completed a Broadway Musical Masterclass and has now graduated his Masters Degree with Honours in music composition with a top mark of 100%, he is now doing his PhD in Musicology. He has been having singing lessons from the age of 5 when his teacher noticed he had perfect pitch . He was offered a place at the Astana Opera in Kazakhstan but respecfully turned it down to persue his own more contemporary musical career. He is a multi instrumentalist, more than 8 instruments and also sings in 12 different languages and has a range of over 6 octaves from a low bass A2 to a high soprano in full head voice, , plus a whistle register with his highest note so far being a 5 second D8 with vibrato. He is widely recognized as the best vocalist in the world. He speaks fluent Kazakh and Russian, is studying English and Mandarin and has conversational skills in both but not quite fluent yet. He is kind, humble, generous and modest, a very elegant, well bought up young man. His Dears are his very loyal fans and we number over 114 fan clubs in 120 countries globally and number in the millions, he calls us Dears because we are so dear to him, just like his family. It's one version from the Singer show and one from the Bastau concert and I suggest that you see both of them and compare them. Hello thanks for watching. That would depend who you would ask. There are different thoughts about that. To me it sounded more like a head voice. But some would sound would call it high mixed voice.
