The best of “ADPTR Audio Metric A/B” plugin walk through! This beats every walk through/tutorial there is…including the tutorials created by Plugin Alliance and ADPTR Audio. Finally a craftsmen who covers fundamentals and delivers usability; Fantastic Job! It’s a shame on plugin alliance to have such a well built, purposeful plugin to exist without qualified, detailed tutorial that breeds ease-of-use. (The case is no different with the ADPTR STREAMLINER plugin as well) Making plugin tutorial video is one thing and making it in a way that viewers can use it is another thing!
when I set the cue on the reference track and press play, my track in the DAW (Cubase) always starts at different points...how do I set that my track always starts from the chorus for example? I want to compare the two choruses
You need to choose Latch playback mode, and then you can setup different positions in the reference track to play back from. Up to 4 different places I think. So find the chorus in the ref track, hit Loop, and set the loop to the end of the chorus. That should mean that it always goes back to that chorus when you hit play
nice one. I use magic A/B, best plugin I have. Something I find useful is to have a mono utility after that, so you can match your mix elements without the stereo image getting in the way
Ahh yes, I used to use Magic A/B and loved it. Once I started using this one, however, I found that it did all the same things but slicker and with more features - including the option to listen in mono 🙂
thanks for actually explaining the process, so basically you're going to want to export your session? I thought people use this to tweak during their session? without having to trial and error and keep rexporting over and over
That is frustrating. Often that can be due to them being protected files - like ones that'll only play on Apple Music/Spotify etc. A quick conversion is the best way, like you're doing already. Thanks for watching!
I use music from my main library, so is an accumulation of CDs, digital downloads and vinyl purchases (which often include the digital version). If there’s something specific I need but don’t own, then I’ll usually grab it from the iTunes Store.

That is lovely to hear, thanks a lot.
Really glad it was useful and you enjoyed it.
Thanks for watching!
Solid tutorial here, the Sonic Academy people are taking the piss trying to sell a course on it for £18
Thanks James - great video!
Thanks for watching!
Very good explanation for how to use this plugin, you actually explained how you use it unlike other videos on the same thing.
Nice one, I’m glad it hit the spot - thanks for watching!
I agree I had to go through a couple of idiots before finding this one on Metric AB.
Facts
@@jedidiahgirioyeah all the videos are like “here is the loudness match button” okay cool so how is the plugin utilized in a workflow?
Very instructive!
Thanks and thank you watching!
Great explanation, thanks!
No worries, thanks for watching!

I’m not sure I follow what you mean?
So the master buss chain doesn't affect the reference tracks in MEtric? Thanks
Nope, it won’t affect it so long as you put the Metric AB plugin last in the chain
That said i always load in too many reference tracks and end up chasing my arse haha
It’s easily done!
It doesn't accept m4a on Windows so now I have to convert the files to mp3. Bummer.
That is frustrating. Often that can be due to them being protected files - like ones that'll only play on Apple Music/Spotify etc. A quick conversion is the best way, like you're doing already.

Where do you buy tracks for mixing reference?
