Seldom have I enjoyed these three sonatas as much as I did tonight. Ms Leonskaja simply brims over with music, and it flows out of her with perfect beauty and grace. I get the unusual feeling that she is not there for applause and/or payment, but simply to make music, which she does without the slightest fuss or pretentiousness. A truly great musician and pianist. Thank you for this wonderful video.
I saw her play this incredible programm yesterday in Lausanne! So wonderful to have the possibility to listen to her interpretation again! Thank you so much for uploading this beautiful concert

Beethoven's last 3 piano sonatas concert in Lisbon ? really ! brilliant performances, there is tension and the edges are sharp.the state of the top in her maturity, it's very beautiful and excellent. Elisabeth Leonskaja, she is already a legend. i think it must have been a wonderful Soirée in Lisbon !
It was just magnificent yesterday in Lausanne. What sensitivity, what inspiration and what left hand. Ah yes ... and to answer Francine: verification done, Beethoven was actually left-handed.
gosh i review this video for five times within 3 days... the style of late Beethoven sonatas is so different from that of his classical ones (Waldstein or Appassionata), that reminds me of "Schumann's Bach" if i am permitted to use this oxymoron. A structure of grandeur arises, yet from a tranquil satisfaction of the daily life after having articulated, full expressed the youth passion, beauty. A new grandeur from the old things and life with no less strength.
These last sonatas from beethoven are very difficult to play in a convincing way due to the quickly changing moods of the "third manner " of the composer - among others. renders these changes in a very convincing way, while keeping the overarching expression of the sonata itself.

These last three sonatas are a spiritual journey from which one doesn't emerge unscathed!

Amazingly, subtly beautiful performance! Thank you for sharing.

I don't know if I've ever heard the final fugal movement of Op. 110 done so well. It is spellbinding.
A wonderful performance. Matches phrases so nicely.

Sublime performances, deeply poetic. Wonderfully flowing line in the slow movements.
Brava, maravillosa.
I like she Voicing so beautiful sound!
and very expressive...
I'm really looking forward to the concert with same program in Korea.

and unbelievable opus 110 and 111 ;-)
ln him (Beethoven) was life and the Iife was the light of men。
The base line!... profound, moving, 'telluric'
The continuous coughing by somebody in the audience during the 111 is a crime against humanity and music.
I agree with you about that coughing! 💓
