    Great vid and thanks for the tips! Just got the HMM Blade Liger AB and the HMM Geno Breaker reissues and will be building those bad boys soon. I probably should have gotten smaller kits since I’m a novice at model kits, but I really wanted two of the most iconic Zoids to display in my room.

      No problem! Just take your time with stuff and you should be fine. Instructions can be kinda dense but it's a fun challenge. Good luck!

    That came out fantastic. Really nice job there.

    Beautiful work. I just started the Lightning Saix Marking Plus version. I've been using hose Tamiya weathering kits for a long time. You can add some amazing detail with minimal effort. I avoided Zoids kits for a long time. It seemed like most reviews I watched made it sound like they weren't the best kits, there were a lot of loose parts and the builders had to resort to gluing . The first thing I do when I start a kit is review the manual and make sure I'm aware of any special instructions etc. I have a translator app on my phone that uses the camera to convert the text. I immediately came across a section explaining that while the model is mainly press fit, it's strongly suggested that certain parts be glued. I noticed you mentioned this in your Beginners guide video. I with I had seen that one first. Excellent job with that as well! It seems a lot of people disregard the manual completely then complain when they run into trouble 🤣🤣

      Thanks, Trüe Brit! The Lightning Saix has been on my list for a while. And yeah, they can be a bit tricky when compared to a Gunpla of similar size, but the cool factor is worth the extra effort imo.
      The translator app is a good idea. Working on another Zoids vid now and I'll be sure to mention your comment. Hopefully that'll help more people.

      @@OtterpunkTV thank you, I have done a small handful of Gunpla (like 5) so I look forward to seeing how Zoids does it.

      Ah, cool. You should be fine then. They're about comparable to a Master Grade.

    I just finished the command wolf. I don't paint, I only use the fundamental markers/ paint pens and I think it turned out amazing

    The kit is sick but the production quality and vibe of this video matches it

    Not to encourage you to seek bankruptcy, but I would love to see what you could do to one of the bigger zoids, like the iron kong marking version! Amazing talent and information made for a great video, comrade!

    • @OtterpunkTV
      @OtterpunkTV  ปีที่แล้ว

      Haha, thanks Dakitty! I plan on doing a big one eventually. I have the Great Saber and he's slightly bigger. I'll probably get to him after a command wolf video then maybe look at one of the huge ones and a liger. Lots to do 😄

    High glossy inner frame with a light grey panel liner for that mechanical detail.
    Matt top coat ontop of armor~ 💪

    • @OtterpunkTV
      @OtterpunkTV  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Thanks! And yep, so far I've only used Hobby Link Japan to import them. At the end of last year or so they started bringing them to the states in places like USA Gundam Store. I'll be going with them from now on as shipping is much cheaper domestically.

    So on the cheap old Hasbro zoids model kits, does anyone know how to get the stickers to blend on the body more? Like that getting rid of the translucent haze on them?

    • @OtterpunkTV
      @OtterpunkTV  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Not sure what haze you are referring to exactly, but you might wanna try Micro Sol and Micro Set. I talk about them in my next Zoids vid but it's supposed to make it look like the decals are painted on rather than just stickers.

    • @jcumm6867
      @jcumm6867 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@OtterpunkTV that sounds exactly like what I need.
      And yeah the decals are just weird in that the backing is more like translucent scotch tape instead of transparent. The models I'm talking about are the old toys from the early 2000s when new century debuted. They just look terrible and very much like the stickers that the are. Obviously nowhere near the same grade as kotobukiya (and they're wind up toys on top of it) but hopefully I'll be able to at least make the decals on them look like what you're talking about

    • @OtterpunkTV
      @OtterpunkTV  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Hmm, I see the issue 🤔 Good luck, if nothing else you could always find some waterslides for them

  • @scasimir1000
    @scasimir1000 ปีที่แล้ว

    Couldn't you take the gold pieces to like Lowe's or home Depot and have them do a special color match but in a test bottle so you technically don't have to pay for it?

    • @OtterpunkTV
      @OtterpunkTV  ปีที่แล้ว

      You could try that. Not sure how house paint would work on models but I imagine it'd be fine for tiny areas like that 🤔
