Much more than a few years, LS. Like cars, prices have been steadily rising since they were first manufactured! Now a days, even the old trucks are 5 to 10 times more costly than when they were sold. For example, a pickup truck in the 60's would probably cost no more than 5 or 6 grand. Inflation!
Paul Knauf Absolutely! I bought a Toyota 4x4 in ‘79( the first year out) and it was just over 7g’s. If only our income would increase like everything else.

The low seats barely above the floorboard was a zonk for me on the Colorado and Canyon as well. Felt like I was in a Go Cart. They also need to add a Twin Turbo into the mix.
It was a really weird feeling! Twin-turbo sounds fun!

Just bought a 2019 GMC canyon. Had a Sierra. A little smaller. Doesn't sit as high but all in all A great truck.

I think that’s a good deal as far as trucks go nowadays. Not bad and agree on seats preferably higher. But to change the subject a little bit I’d love to have a new truck with a good old manual transmission.
Don't hold your breath for that manual!
It looks like a miniature version of the previous version of the Sierra which I really don't mind at all. I've been really considering trading my aging F150 in for one of these.

It’s funny a lot of your comments about the interior were features on earlier years of canyons that had been changed. 15-16 had red gauges and backlighting not the blue and 15-18 had a usb inside of the center console

I think I found a mistake for once? Great reviews but I don't think this has dual climate controls?
I have 2015 gmc canyon I think it was way better on this one in terms of interior design because the 2015 has a two tone on the dashboard that makes more looks classy and I agree I think it needs more room on the backseat.

I have watched your reviews on the Ford Ranger Lauriet & the GMC Canyon . In your opinion what is a better vehicle for a person whose last 5 vehicles have been a Subaru Legacy. I live in up state NY so I need something good in snow.
That is a tough question. The Ranger has the way better interior and gearbox. I would probably say Ranger.
@@RaitisRides Did you think the Ford Ranger felt more floaty than the Canyon? I am trying to decide as well. One dislike I have is the storage underneath the seats. I am planning to try and test drive the vehicles the same day, but I felt in the test drives I have done, the Canyon seemed better.
I'd stay away from those eco boost for engines they are finicky
I have seen the best deals on these Canyons vs the Colorado's and Rangers. Also the GMC's even at the SLE trim level which is what I would get are still pretty nice and nicer than the Colorado's to me. I was looking at rangers, but the prices and being a 4 cylinder kill it for me. THese can tow the same, do not need boost, and is over all nicer interiors at base level than colorados and rangers. GMC dealer here offering a 4wd 4d crew cab SLE for like 30-31 k 2019. I understand they trying to get rid of 2019 stuff for the 2020 year so those are deals and they are still new trucks.

Don't ZONK the key. we HATE the push button start. Not so much that we hate the keyless thing. It's that we HATE the auto-off thing. and we HATE the lane thing. what we love about this truck... no joke, the reason I'm still considering this truck, is that I think its the only one left that lets ME choose if I want to turn on the lane assist and auto off/start. PERMANENTLY! GE, we the market do NOT like this crud. we also, don't buy that these features have any significant value to the environment or safety. at least not enough to justify forcing us to have it on as defaults without the ability to turn it off as a default and turn it on when we want it.
GMC definitely looks better than the Colorado imo. Just wish they would give it driver side A pillar handle and a transmission dipstick.

Looking into the Canyon as potentially my first pick up truck! But trying to get more features (quad cab, bedliner, and 6 foot bed) and balancing with budgeting is quite a headache.

tried and true transmissions, what a joke. class action lawsuit for GM not fixing the the torque converter issues. when is the 10 speed joint effort with Ford going to be added?
I am sure the 10-speed will be added for the redesign probably in 2021.
