- Sailing in 35 knots of wind and with very little wind, 5 meters of cross waves and beautiful ocean sunrises. 25 days of offshore ocean sailing and just the two of us on our sailing catamaran. Everyday life on an ocean passage. What is on our daily menu. How we make drinking water. How we use the different sailes. How we get weather forecasts. How we manage sleep and watch time.
Everything what you wanted to know about ocean crossing in a sailing boat.

Thats filming sailors life as I realy enjoy to look at. No sailing soap opera with allways good conditions and happy young people. Thank You so much Leiwand!
Thanks Peter!!! Gruesse nach good old 🇦🇹!!!!
Thank you for sharing great stuff, like the veggie garden and other practical cruising info
Thanks Pieter, good when it helps...😉🥂⛵️🎥
Reality Show in real..Exactly how the blue water sailor lives. Nice, hard, deprived and wonderful. Tali - Günther's film reflects this very well, simply and honestly without any frills. Thanks, just great! Clark Stede
Nice to hear it from a guy with so much experience in sailing and filming, Thanks Clark.
Gunther: "We are reefed now and- the wind can Blow!" Love it. 🤓And- by day 6 I'm ready to eat what Gunther made for the first two days of the voyage 😆 wow- 24 years cruising. Simply amazing, and very kind of you to share your experiences with us in film!
Wait for the food of day 17....😉😋🤢
I even don’t remember what was on the menue at day 17...🤠🤔
Awesome music. That Russian woman is awesome.
Thanks Barton! 😉🥂🎥⛵️
Feels great to be living through the eyes of real live mariners. Better than any book.
Thanks, yes we want our films to be real, there is so much selfie trash in sailing videos
Beautiful in every way.
Great!
🥂⛵️🎥🥂🥂
This is my new favorite sailing channel!!
Thank you so much!!! What a delight fo rus😉🎥⛵️🥂
A Nice vegetarian rice , pasta aubergine , it looks a yummy , well done & have a good wind .
Thank you so much!
Live is too short to eat bad, even on a 25 days passage
Aubergine is known in USA as eggplant, I think. Love your content and down to earth advice and recipes. A land-locked Texan here. Have only sailed Texas bays when young. Now hundreds of miles from Salt water.
Wow, I don't think I could do this. Takes guts. Love that you take your viewers with you on the journey.
You are welcome to join our journey. Thanks! Hope you will enjoy part 2 coming this week...
Great content. It seems like you both put a lot of effort into making this video and the whole journey. Bravo for a great journey and love from Germany!
Thanks to Germany! Yes, it was effort and soooo much fun...🥂😉⛵️🎥
Fantastic. Beautiful. What lovely people.
Thanks Mike, let’s us get in the mood to continue making films
Good film guys. Breathtaking picture. So interesting to see your daily life. I love to hear your comments. I have a monohull, Moody 375 and it's very interesting how it is on a catamaran. Seems to be very stable on those waves. Thank you for sharing your story of an offshore ocean sailing.
Welcome. Yes it’s a big difference to sail the right cat. Part 2 will be up in some weeks, enjoy.
This is a beautiful video.
Thanks Philip! Happy you enjoyed our film. Don’t forget to look at part 2 😉⛵️🥂

😉🥂🎥⛵️
It was very interesting for me to see what challenge you have to deal with on board! loved your cooking sessions very much! Good luck for your journey!
Christina Tassioglou thanks Christina. Hope it was not too much sailing for land people?
Keep cooking I am learning a wealth of new recipes.
Life is to short to eat bad food...
Loved this video, she looks like a kgb very dangerous retired spy.
Yes, sure! All Russians are KGB spies. Thanks for enjoying the film, hope you had a good time...😉⛵️🥂🥂
Great video, I would like to see some of the taking down and putting up sails next time, don't know if that's possible :)
Yeah, we know...
It’s not easy to do the work and film at the same time
Will try
And thanks for the flowers, Andreas
Hertzlich Welomen ins (Deutsch-) Sudwestafrika! It is very nice video Umadum Sailing team (Kpt Tali & Lt. Guenther). Thx 4 explaining of how 2 make wasser on the ocean too. The boat don't acker at night? How do u not know if there is big danger thing in the water? Do u have radar of some thing to warn u? Dankie/ Merci/ Enkhosi kakhule. (isiXhosa)
Hi David, you don’t see dangerous things floating even in daytime if the waves are bigger than 1 1/2 meters
There's nothing wrong with Simon and Garfunkel's Hazy Shade of Winter but the cover by the Bangles is simply fantastic and completely unexpected from them.
You are listening very detailed to our films 🥂👍🏾
Wow! Just WOW! Dream bigger! 👍🏾👍🏾
Your video makes me want to sail.
Good! Just untie the lines and do it! 😉🥂⛵️
strong couple!
Just having fun... 😉🥂⛵️🎥

All the best for the atlantic
Wow wow wow...8500!!! -Rebecca
Yes, wow. New for our small channel
You films are always fun! To me you are the best of all sailing channels I'm regulary watching. So good made, so informative. I was laughing a lot with your idea of Bon Voyage Bon Appetite, very nice idea! When does the part 2 come?
Obviously it takes a bit more time to make our sort of films, part2 will be online in 3-4 weeks. And thank you so much to vote us as the best sailing channel. We are speechless...
agreed
How do you keep from fighting (if you ever fight, maybe you don't)?
Hello Mike! We speak English on board of UMADUM - for both of us a foreign language. And we found out, that it is no fun to have a fight in English, you just don’t find the right words for cursing the other one. So we decided, not to fight. There are some themes we absolutely disagree - we just stop arguing about this themes. Yes, your question is very real. If you live together 24/365 it’s a big difference to a normal live on land, where you see your partner maybe in the morning and in the evening, you go out with friends, you have your own hobbies. If there is a quarrel on board, you have to discuss it immediately, you cannot wait some days, till everything is fine again. But on the other hand you learn to be different in relationships and that’s good
@@UmadumSailing Thank you for the in depth insight. I have one more question if you have time. I've only been up a boat for the day and I've never sailed out for weeks on end. Do you ever feel freaked out being so isolated, or does that go away once you are under way? Maybe it's psychological but I get a little strange feeling when I can't see land anymore, even though I love boats and want to do a ocean crossing one day. Thanks!
No, being out at sea for days and weeks give me a certain peace of mind, at least after some days of adapting. If you are sitting in the cockpit and nothing is really happening instead of waves passing by it’s a sort of trance. Time gets relative and your thoughts can wander...
I would have liked some footage of the environment...
Hard to tell, which environment you mean?
Question: in the emergency waters do you treat them with something, since they're stored? Love the video!
We don’t treat the water, it comes out from the watermaker, same as in the tank, after the crossing we use it for showering etc.
thanks for liking, part 2 will be online in 3-4 weeks
@@UmadumSailing if you keep it away from sunlight water can be stored indefinitely. If you you think you might have slight contaminates 8 drops of unscented bleach per 3 gallons will kill contaminates. In post-huuricane conditions 8 drops per gallon will be good enough. Might not taste good, but will be safe.
Er sagte: "You are speaking like Schwarzenegger!"
The only reason I would not sail across the ocean is sailing at night. You just can’t see what is in the water ahead of you. i.e. containers, etc.
Stay safe.🍻🌲
The chance to hit a whale or a container is very minimal. I sail now since 25 years, sailed a lot overnight, crossed many times oceans for weeks, 😉and luckily nothing of this happened. The chance to have an accident with your car is 1000 times higher, do you think on it, before you put your key around?
@@UmadumSailing
Plus, I don’t see very well at night 🤷🏼♂️. 🍻🌲

👍👍👍
😉❤️🎥🥂⛵️
👍🍺🍺
🤓😁😃
Dzuvec rice 😉
Yes, a sort of. A bit different ingredients, we always cook with ingredients which are available in the different countries...
Yeah. Your beautiful and all that but you're hard to listen to and we're interested in the sailing and fishing.
What should we do, we both have not English as our mother tong
Ufff when I see people smoking aboard, I just wonder where they put out their cigarettes................
There is a millennium invention: the ashtray...
And when it’s full, it comes into a bag and after arrival it ends up in the trash - no worries, we don’t feed the turtles
😉🥂⛵️
The awful constant license free music detracts from the content.
You think so? We have the idea, that the music we use is quite different to other sailing videos
The glass breaking and laughing is annoying so will skip this one.
No sense of humor, guy???
I can understand her only about half the time and can hear her only about half the time, so only 1/4 of the time do I know what she's saying:( What's up with the breaking glass and strange laugh when you do the bon appetit bon voyage? I hit the mute button when that comes on, it's hard on the ears. Other than that, I like your videos!
Someone with very sensitive but bad ears. Other people headed HER well 😉
to much talking,sorry!!
The times of the silent films are over some decades. If you don’t like talking, try our films 540 seconds of 2018 and 2019
