    I think it's very true for people that are not that good skill-wise and doesn't have respect from others once you get aggressive although without good skills people will start to respect and honour you

    • @oceansvibez9077
      @oceansvibez9077 3 ปีที่แล้ว +64

      That’s very true. Recently I was known as the worst player on the team. Eventually I got pissed and started playing harder than everyone on the court. Even though I don’t have the best skill I’m definitely not the worst player. I get more rebounds steals and defensive stops as well as better open looks. Effort and aggressiveness is 80% of the game

    • @HealthInspectorz
      @HealthInspectorz 2 ปีที่แล้ว +19

      I used to hoop in college pickup ball and as a short person, i am the player who loves attacking the rim. Hustle, slashing and basketball iq allows you to get the respect you need on the floor. Defense is such an underrated skill to learn as it also allows you to get the respect you deserve on the court.

    Time stamps
    1:38 attacking your defender - divide the defenders body into 3 segments. Imagine opening a door if u bump them on the side. On the middle, absorb the contact and protect the ball with off hand, keep going to the rim to finish
    4:20 off ball offense - Hit ur defender first, establish this early on in the game. step between the defenders legs and create contact with shoulder, bounce out to recieve the ball
    7:14 on ball defense - staying aggressive on defense pro tip. Count the times you talk and hit the offensive player

  • @Kentrellol

    lol I had my first game yesterday, even though we won, I still cried after it because I knew that I could do better than that, and the whole time I wasn’t trying. And then what makes it worse is the fact that I fell multiple times, people laughed, and it was just embarrassing, so I have to watch this video. I knew that whatever it’s called “passiveness” was holding me back, because I never act like that during practices, or if I’m playing a 5v5 with my friends. So I’m tryin to get better at being on the court especially since I’m starting

    Ive been playing ball for 10+ years and attacking at an angle for a short guy is a huge advantage. It creates many options and possibilities, and also speaking from a guard perspective, don't stop your dribble and use your body to shield the ball from your defender. Ball handling is so important as a guard as it creates many possibilities to your game

  • @d0nchik_fpv

    Aggressiveness is a key. I'll never let my defender get easy pass or buckets. Shoulder release looks great, i have to try it. I always trying to establish my position aggressively, also i love give contact, but i do it now not so good. My contact now is slow, weak. I keep on learning!

    when i started training basketball like 5 months ago i was already pretty good since i played a lot of street before, training basketball definitely made me better because you focus on the basics yk nothing crazy like windmill layups or like behind the back 360 dribble moves and stuff which makes your handles and shooting better, anyway i had a game and i was going crazy dropping 2 points like every 30 seconds, i got the ball like 9 times and missed only one layup, did 2 mid range shots made both of them, did left and right handed layups with ease, just being very dominant and aggressive on offense. Then of course my coach saw that me and 3 other of my teammates(who were playing already for like 2 years there) were too good to be playing against people like that so he put us in the selections to play for a way better team, basically the start of a road to greatness. There people were 1 year older, taller, everything. Of course i was better than some people but i never could prove to the coach that I'm good enough to be put on the team because I'm always kinda scared to shoot and stuff because the team there is pretty toxic, i wanna step my game up on offense so i can prove to the coach that I'm worthy of being on a team
