Thanks Johnny and Merry Christmas to you and we wish you happiness health and success in the New Year as well ! Thanks for the video, I wish I could find a festive atmosphere here
Just saying. Stats show its depressed no 114 out 300 countries. Also F putin makes daily threads and increases gas electricity prices for nationalistic reasons. Still great country but struggles with corruption and scams and outside big cities bad services.
Kiev is rich, so it basically looks as clean and developed as Budapest, Prague, Warsaw or even Berlin. The differences Western EU vs Eastern EU vs Ukraine are in the small towns and villages, where the EU is pumping money into the new members, the big cities look nice in most of the former USSR. Minsk, Nur-Sultan, Tashkent, Baku etc are also nice, clean and developed, also true for some bigger non capital cities in the region, like Georgia's "little Dubai" Batumi. It's the provincial people that suffer in such places.
I am literally packing for my trip to Kiev (from Miami) when this video popped up on my feed. Leaving tomorrow. Will keep an eye out for you. If I see you the first round is on me 🇺🇸 🇺🇦
Pls wear your mask when u come, you are scaring me with this hyper aggressive comment..pls maintain safe distance so we can all stay virus free and dont forget to get vaccinated with 9 boosters at airport
Being an Aussie, our Christmases are bloody hot as. About 5 years ago my wife and I went to Germany and did a Christmas markets tour that visited 8 different cities and towns stretching across the former East Germany. It was brilliant. Recommend it to anyone.
It's been below -13 Celsius over the last few days here in Ukraine, freezing my nuts off. Merry Christmas Johnny! Def feels like real Christmas. Enjoy the market and the hot red wine.
While stationed in Ettlingen, West Germany in the late 80's. I went to the Christmas market in Ettlingen and Karlsruhe. Karlsruhe being a good sized city had a larger market. Both were fun to visit. I preferred the one in Ettlingen, more of a small town feel. I still have Christmas ornaments that I purchased there hanging on my tree. Merry Christmas and Happy New Year Johnny.
Beautiful Johnny. I'm from New Zealand, we have Summer Xmas, BBQ's and beers at the beach. I loved European Christmas on my Travels,So cool to see it again. Cheers Johhny boy
I have been to few Christmas markets and they are very different than that. I went to a few in Minnesota. There they are usually held in churches and they sell only handmade crafts and treat. I did attend a German Christmas market in Minnesota which was outside. Again, it was all handmade things. They usually sell handmade mittens, scarves, soaps, Christmas ornaments, fudge, hot cocoa and other treats. Your market in Kiev was the most beautifully decorated I have ever seen before. Thank you for sharing. Merry Christmas 🎄
This is an awesome video! Everything is beautiful! Thanks for sharing! And a BIG thanks to all the workers who put up all the beautiful decorations and everything! I'm sure it made a lot of people happy having an event like this to go out and experience! Merry Christmas everyone! ❤
You mentioned that you would go to Carpathian mountains. This would be awesome, I'm from this region and I would recommend you hiking there. The snow is remarkably clean and deep on the hills during winters.
The best Christmas market we ever visited was in a small village in the mountains of Austria. Instead of hot mulled wine, they had booths with shots of schnapps. It was a local Christmas market we just found by accident.
Thank you for sharing, Johnny. It was beautiful 😍 and 🎅 🎄 ❤️, but we make it what we want, if you enjoyed it then you are happy 😊...you sure made me smile to know people are still enjoying the holidays in these uncertain times
Johnny u definitely should go to Christmas Kharkiv! We have one of the biggest Trees🎄 on our biggest square(😎). The central streets(Pushkinska and Sumska) are also so fancy with “star sky decoration”. And of course a lot of shops and cafes in the city centre are decorated cool!
@@JohnnyFD yeah that could be a problem during holidays)) Btw could you film some video on how is your airBnB experience goes so far in Ukraine? (as local-born I'm very curious and your viewers from out of Ukraine could also enjoy some tips and tricks)
I remember being in Kharkiv in 2016. Christmas Market , with a massive Christmas Tree. friendly locals , and everyone enjoying feeling festive. Merry Christmas to you.
I definetly will come back to Ukraine in winter season someday. Looks amazing. I live in West Germany and we for sure have some big christmas markets, but you cant walk freely because they are so overcrowded. This feels way better! Have you ever been to Germany Johnny?
@@JohnnyFD Yea, we got some counties with a lot of covid patients. Also the State took action and put the whole country in a lockdown again. You can go get something to eat and get general goods but thats about it.
I live in Newcastle UK, we have a christmas market here. It's similar to what you experienced. It's more for couples and families. Bright lights and childrens rides. The food on ours tends to be more german based ie bratwursts etc It is still a good experience but after about 15 minutes I get bored and go for a beer, I'm 58 btw and a great grandfather, xmas is time for the kids, I leave them to it 😀good posting
Thanks for posting the Christmas market Johnny! I miss northern Europe Christmas markets. I live in Texas now, and it just does not feel like Christmas when it will be 82F on Christmas Day. I need cold, snow and ice.
The best Christmas Market I have been to so far in the UK is Birmingham. And living in the South West we have both mulled wine and mulled cider. Highly recommend mulled cider, it's very good.
Merry Christmas Johnny! Wow, that Christmas market was so beautiful! That tree was “lit”!! I think colder climates care more about decortions because it eases the winter blues. 🎄 I'm not so sure about “ Hot wine “ tho, 😬🤪.. Haha.. Luv ya - wishing u a fabulous Christmas and the best new yr. 🍾
Absolutely FABULOUS thanks Johnny, never in our Christian Country of Australia have I seen anything like the Festive Beauty of this place. THANK YOU. I LOVED IT 👍
loved the video with the Christmas lights and the people, but the Babushka singing the traditional folk song brought a tear to my eye, she was so out of place with the modern age but so important to the History. I could feel the life that she has had , and how she lives now.
Johnny nice experiences.nice look around even in spirit.loved to see east europe specials from their culture in the christmas market. there are big churches there!I never been to Ukraine
A European Christmas market is an experience beyond anything in the states. I've been to a few markets in the states. They feel like memories of a European market. It's like going to a bar and calling it a fest.
In Chicago the Kris Kringle market it’s just like this but, has lots of items for sale like carvings and toys and jewelry along with the food and mold wine. I was surprised to see Your market is not selling gift items. 🌻
I am glad you got to experience a Christmas Market. I visited one in Rothenburg Germany ( smaller than this one) The hot mulled wine is nice on a cold day. Merry Christmas Johnny
We called chimney cake not stick bread !We have this in US to Johnny esp European markets where you can find it.Coated with walnuts ,coconut, sugar, etc. It is delicious!Merry Christmas !Stay safe !
Thanks for sharing! I was born on Christmas and even though I've been f'd my entire life on presents(sometimes I make a joke about wishing to be Jewish so I'd actually get the "correct" amount of presents compared to others that get to celebrate their bday outside the Christmas "window"), I really do enjoy the feeling of people caring about those around them; plus the music is pretty damn dope when you get down to the brass tax.
I'm so jealous of you for having the courage to live your dream Johnny merry Christmas and happy new year to you and your family big love from glenburnie Maryland in the states maybe one day I could get the chance to travel with you on a trip I have never been off of the northern east coast
Haha, actually the sponsored VPN segment got a chuckle out of me in the "Netflix is not available in the US" part - someone not paying attention could easily miss this.

Johnny, get the hell out of Ukraine 🇺🇦! The Russians are coming!
Ukraine seems to be much cleaner and developed than most eastern EU countries. And ppl seem much happier too...
