    But if Cap has a metabolism 4x as powerful as an average human, doesn't that mean he has to eat a ton of food in order to keep himself alive? When he goes to a restaurant, does he have to order all the entrees because he can't live without eating that much?

    • @burnin8able

    Magneto vs. Count Dooku
    Magneto controls metal (turn on/off lightsaber, pseudo-force powers apply to the saber hilt; saber blocking lightening to a degree, controls metals in body cells?), and Count Dooku controls the force at master level (force powers beyond weaponry, applies to all things metal or not, less confined by a lack of armor).

      Hey bat m I mean Bruce

    • @Bjorn308
      @Bjorn308 8 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      It's not just the radiation that does it but the rads combined with the FEV virus so I doubt that could be calculated due to there being no precise formula for FEV. Not everyone exposed to FEV became a Ghoul though so there must be another unknown factor as well. So very interesting but so little data. I wish I could research Ghouls for a living...

    • @stevemcgroob4446
      @stevemcgroob4446 8 ปีที่แล้ว

      MinionOfDeth2112 No it's just radiation that causes ghoulification. Chris Taylor did claim that F.E.V. was involved but that was never canon.

    • @src6339
      @src6339 8 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      Biologically speaking, extreme longevity has been observed to occur in nature, so it is certainly seems possible and might one day that, with sufficient knowledge & technical expertise, may be achieved through genetic manipulation using gene therapy (as per fallouts FEV). Ionizing radiation however does what it says on the tin, It Ionizes molecules, makes aquatic solutions acidic, and as far as organic chemistry is concerned, causes untoward chemical reactions to occur inside living cells. As you might expect this would normally kill a living cell. On rare occasions it might result in a random mutation during cellular division. Such a mutation could be benign, cancerous, or give rise to a new trait. It is staggeringly unlikely however that cells carrying beneficial trait information would be created at all, let alone in large enough quantities that would allow said trait to be actualized within the body of that particular organism. An undeveloped zygote may adopt a randomly generated trait from a mutated cell once it has reached a certain level of maturity as only a small number of effected cells would be needed to facilitate the mutated cells prevalence throughout the tissues of the organisms body. If a similar effect were to happen in an already fully developed organism, the host’s preexisting unaffected tissues would need to be displaced and supplanted by new tissue comprised of mutated cells, a process that would be not unlike a cancerous tumor devouring the healthy tissue around it most as such would likely result in death. However, this does give rise to a disturbing possibility. If just one cell randomly mutated “correctly” as a result of radiation exposure, spread through the body like a cancer, didn’t disrupt any vital functions in doing so and had extreme longevity, you could end up with a being not unlike a ghoul from fallout. Although, that’s a Lot of low probability “ifs” to overcome… so 1 ghoul like creature, maybe in a thousand apocalypses, maybe… Unless… Remember how our one cell needed to be able to devour the body of ifs fully developed host, what if the cells were able to assimilate alien (none parent organisms) hosts too, bam, instant genetically identical zombie clone post-apocalypse! Conclusion - exceedingly unlikely, practically impossible, but not, strictly speaking, “impossible”

Given that they burn calories faster and require significantly more nutrition (see Flash S1) to keep up with their metabolism.

    Although most commonly used Widmark isn't very accurate. It's a theoretical maximum, there are other equations that might produce more accurate results. Also when discussing alcohol I'd stay away from %proof (it can vary country to country and is a confusing measurement at the best of times) I'd go with %volume. And that's not mentioning any rate limiting steps like induction of CYP2E1.

    Speaking on drinks and metabolisms, what is the relation of healing factor and getting drunk. In some stories is said that some super humans can't get drunk because there healing factor, but getting drunk doesn't have anything to do with getting hurt, so what would actually happen if a being with healing factor tried to get drunk?

    • @jessebananasaurus6720

      Like Wolverine or Deadpool? They'd feel it just like any other, but their advanced metabolism and super-healing liver would shove toxins out rather quickly. They'd need to keep drinking quite a bit to keep the buzz going, canonically.

  • @mdx3020
    @mdx3020 8 ปีที่แล้ว

    actually, i doubt the black panther suit its that "ordinary"... supposedly, the soles of his boots has vibranium, allow him to fall from any hight without hurting himself... the claws are "anti metal", because its of a kind of vibranium that produces vibration instead of absorbing them... and its an "ancient mantle of his ancestors", so it has magic protection and other stuff
