- What does a day look like for dedicated women’s rights advocates, all over the world?
Every single day 39.000 girls under the age of 18 are sold off to marriage. Every single day at least two women are acid-attacked in India. On the African continent more than three million girls and women are circumcised every year. The statistics are frightening, yet things are moving in the right direction, due to the efforts of many strong advocates around the globe. State of the Women follows inspiring women during one day of their lives, providing the audience with a unique insight to their everyday lives. In the film you will meet the young Afghan rapper Sonita, the Chinese feminist activist Li Ting Ting, CEO of Save the Children; Helle Thorning-Schmidt, and other inspiring and strong women.

Such a nicely made documentary, it made me cry much. I grew up in Canada, and when I moved to Asia four years ago, it made me realize all the work that has been done in my country for the women’s rights, and how so much work still has to be done in other countries. This documentary is beautiful, it managed to give me some hope about the future of the women of the world.
+ Abdul Abrar How should someone stop demonising men, this video proves it's all their fault. There is no way of stoping this until men change their behavior completly. If men are unwilling to do this, they have no right to complain at all.
Have you ever seen videos of women beating men before sex? Women can be mean too.

I am not going to down all men because we all know there are really kind,caring,loving and gentle men out there.But what gives the other pieces of shit the right to disfigure a young woman's face by throwing acid on her.Why is violence the only answer to these men?Why is hate the only answer?

in my country afghanistan, boys as young as 12-13 die in battlefield, and many more younger boys r forced into child labour. so where is documentary for them

*The midwife from the philoppines was very unprofessional talking about birth control during the delivery and while the young mother is in labour, she should of waited till her baby was born to have that conversation. But besides that, a very heart felt documentary*
Liverbird 55 - you're not wrong to point out giving advice to someone while giving birth is not the best time BUT is the best way and anytime. This young person and there are many more,have no concept of right or wrong when it comes to making babies through no fault of their own. Contraception is not readily available for them . Family planning and with help from her midwife or health visitors ( if there is one ) can she learn and understand the hardship of having many children and their future .
Liverbird 55 Also things are VERY different in a third world country such as the 🇵🇭 Philippines. From the way they dress and talk , the way they perceive compliments and even things we consider to be acceptable may not be acceptable there. I have several relatives over there so I should know. Remember when you visit another country that you should practice THEIR ways and do whatever is considered customary for that region. Think of it this way....You wouldn't want me walking into your house and then all of a sudden I'm demanding for you and your family to follow my rules, now would you? Of course not. Because it's your home and your family so therefore it's your family's rules.
