Great Video. You made a really good point about the linear exploration and uninspired level design in the end of one of my favorite games.
My biggest "problem" with Blasphemous 2 is the comic look, though. Yeah of course, the levels look absolutely great most of the time - especially compared to the early first game - but there are some details which really undermine the overall immersion into that dark and depressing world. Radames for example doesn't seem to fit in the game at all, just because of his comic-like look. Same for the cinematics - which are quite nice to have - but hey're just waaay to clean.
I would have preferred less cinematics, in favor of in game events like in Blasphemous 1. Remember the entry of the warden, the first boss in the first game? Remember how Ten Piedad "introduced" itself to the player? That's what I want!
Another "downside" is the music, which - again - is actually great aswell, but sometimes feels a little out of place. I think Part 1 just hit the spot perfectly with more quiet, calm and atmospheric parts.
All in all it's complaining at a very high level. I absolutely love both Blasphemous games and I'm really looking forward to the upcoming expansion and DLC.

I think it's for a different audience compared to the first and tries to appeal to a broader set of people who might of otherwise been put off a bit by the first. I was really really impressed with the game itself and at times I even liked the cleaner look but I can understand how if you especially liked the first game post DLC you might think that it's underwhelming and not true to the original. Still though hoping that the DLC comes along and addresses a lot of these issues like it did for the original!
