I wanted to change my 19in spoke on my 2020 softail to a 2.15 x 18 to accommodate a vintage bobber style tire. Can I just buy any spoke rim that size, or is there a reason it won't fit? Every site i find the rim says it won't fit my bike.
Catalogs of course won’t approve. What you are wanting is custom. Axle spacers, brake caliper fitment, trueing of spokes to center or offset is required. Find a reputable custom builder. Give him you credit card and wait for the phone call when it is done…Doc
Doc, I am trying to torque my spokes on my softial and can't seem to remove the weights after marking them from the spikes. Can you share with me how this is done????
Use #000 steel wool, it shouldn’t cause any harm but will clean. As for white wall there are a lot products that will work check your local auto parts store for what is available
Hi Doc Harley...yesterday my Sportster Nightster was wobbling big time...today I inspected my rear tire and found 6 spokes broken...can you give me a reason for this like what could cause this...is it common...did something like this ever pass by you during your career...Thank you in advance...
I have seen 2-4 spokes broke and entire wheel loose. The key is to inspect spoke wheels at every service. The cause, off road riding or a big deep city pothole. Thanks. ~ Doc

I recommend "No Spokes" , use cast wheels. Some ppl like the classic look of Spoke, but when you get a flat in the middle of nowhere, ruining a good ride, and ruining your whole Day...The benefits of the ability to fix a flat with a Cast Wheel andTubeless repair kit, far out way the silly classic look Bullshit of Spokes.
That's why I only run spoked wheels on dirt bikes or vintage street bikes. I've had flats on both and was fortunate they were on rear tires. Tubeless tires frequently hold impaled objects without the rider noticing until later. Tubes tend to flatten immediately. You can plug repair tubeless tires in an emergency. I've changed plenty of tubes but don't carry those on the road.

You have to use an inner tube unless it was the few years that HD used a big rubber band to seal the wheel....Doc

Can you add additional spokes to the wheel?
Hey Doc the biggest important part of it is what size is the wrench for the spokes
6mm is the size spoke wrench you need. Motion Pro makes a good one.
Is it to convert spokes wheel to tubeless , using a rim seal kit on Harley Davidson bike?

Spokes are the worst, Especially on a touring Bike, Get a flat and you're Fucked👎, and of course for the trouble mentioned in this. Video

All my spoked bikes are tubeless for last 15 years....
Spokes suck to clean
