Those orange belts are just for strapping it to shoulder and carrying upstairs.
If you have specific questions on how things work, ask in comments and with enough questions i will do explanation video.
Thank you for support and please subscribe if you wish to see more DIY projects.

You are crazy man. I never thought that using VESC is possible for EUC, but if it can power up OW, why not. I am riding my V12HT and love it so much. EUC is the best PEV ever :).

I've been waiting for more people to try this. I'm amazed that you undertook this project with no prior experience on an EUC. I'm looking forward to seeing how you like riding and if you end up wanting more performance as your skill level increases. I recommend wrist pads if you start riding more aggressively and enjoy working with your hands.

Very cool! I'd love to build a lightweight wheel for when I fly somewhere that uses common power tool batteries. Would be very interested in seeing the full breakdown of how you put this together. Nice work!

can you make video of VESC tuning please?
my inmotion V11 just stopped working because of motherboard electronics issue. I know the motor is fine because I tested it with my VESC 100/250. In motion says I should try buying expensive control boards and change them to see if I can fix the problem but I'd rather just build my own VESC version that I know. Their inmotion app told me the motor was bad but I used my VESC to test it, you can see the video on my channel, worlds first remote controlled electric unicycle

I plan on making such video when im done with vesc so it will be still quite some time before it happens but for now i suggest checking out surfdado videos about it, they match 90% of what should be done for EUC with exception of using built in balance app, not float package. Also im usually at vesc discord discord.gg/PFxtGrNX

@@KaminarisTech alien rides says the V11 batteries need a signal from the controller to make full power, you can't VESC the V11? I think they got a better controller than the trampa too.

Great work i'd love to see diy euc market to grow in the same way that the diy one wheel has. The euc's sold now are getting way too expensive. I made one using a Trampa Boards VESC and a motor from and old Gotway MSuper. Works great. I just wish there was a higher voltage option for a bit more power.

Very nice project, congrats on your success!
You think about shoring up the weakness of the 3D prints with fiberglass such as at seams and around fasteners? Some strategically placed, low-infill TPU armor attached with hook&loop, could help mitigate crash forces if it ever goes for a tumble.
Also, ABS is mechanically weakened by UV exposure - just something to be aware of for your next project(s) if you didn't know. Carbon impregnated filaments or nylon blends might be a better fit if sticking to 3D printing for large semi-structural parts, but $$$ and stricter printing parameters.

    • @KaminarisTech
      @KaminarisTech  ปีที่แล้ว +2

Entire shell was sanded, covered with car body filler and painted with anti gravel paint so UV light is not a problem - does not even reach plastic. Weakness of Abs prints is mechanical stress that separates layers, abs has unfortunately pretty weak layer adhesion. At least compared to PETG.

@@KaminarisTech Oh good! Makes sense now with the exterior looking smooth. 👍
The VESC programming for EUC is very impressive. I'd love to see a video detailing your trial and error process getting it to work, but that's the same as asking for a bunch of work for free. I'll just stay tuned for future videos😎

@@vanturionthere is a bug in balance wizard preventing you from calibrating accel/gyro. This is why it took me so long to get it working. All of the details regarding setting up are nicely sumed up by www.youtube.com/@surfdado/videos but with 3 differences:
      1. you don't use float package, just internal balance algorithm
      2. after the wizard its necessary to change Mahony KI to something like 0.2 or 0.3 because its get set as 0.03 (and its a bug) and do partial calibration again
      3. making sure vesc is super stable inside chassis.
Of course process is much more involved and requires tweaking values per motor so i cant tell how my values will behave on other motor/controller. But surfdado videos explains 90% of things.

Congratulations! Very interesting , a new world DIY EUC , great open source innovation. I am studying mechanical engineering, the topic of my thesis is "Dynamic studies of an electric unicycle", I am very interested in EUC. I would really like to find a CAD simplified model in EUC, so that I can perform dynamic analysis with ANSYS or SolidWorks... After that, I can model and calculate the mathematical model with Matlab Simulink...

Vesc I am using has built in accelerometer and gyro, not every vesc has this tho. Nothing else is required.
Vesc ktorego uzywam ma wbudowany akcelerometr i żyroskop, nie każdy vesc ma to wbudowane. Nic dodatkowego nie jest potrzebne.
