    Nice! I used epc2014c in my thesis for a buck converter, its rediculous how small the pads are, soldering by hand it a nightmare. I want to design my own motor controller at some point, but the BOM gets pretty high pretty quick 😂 might get to it after i finish my synchronous buck-boost MPPT solar controller

      Pads being small isn't that big of an issue, needs a little more practice than usual, high voltage plus small pads was the biggest issue for me :D

      @@KaminarisTech the buck converter IC I used relied on the resistance of the low side fet to calculate current, I found I had wildly different resistances. I really needed solder paste at a minimum to solder the fets correctly, I only had solder wire. I might try soldering them again and seeing if I can get them a bit more consistent

    • @KaminarisTech
      @KaminarisTech 22 นาทีที่ผ่านมา

      @@harrylenon9594 I actually wrote a guide how to solder them, paste is needed: Use 60/40 solder from a reputable source. Trying to use lead-free solder by hand will be extremely difficult. Using poor-quality products will also result in failure, and this applies to flux as well. This board has 4 layers, so it can absorb a lot of heat. Using high-quality solder is essential because the board is very sensitive to cold joints. Having a good soldering iron is crucial and can make the difference between success and failure. To solder GaN mosfets i strongly recommend using soldering paste instead, everything else can be done with wire tin. Apply solder paste with flux on the footprint. Position the GaN mosfet in place. Use hot air until the solder melts and the GaN device is securely in place, applying gentle pressure to ensure proper contact. Remove any excess solder with a soldering iron. Allow the solder to cool down. [Repeat] Heat the solder joint again with hot air. Apply flux. Use tweezers to gently swirl the MOSFET, ensuring each pad has an equal amount of solder. Reposition the MOSFET properly. Allow the solder to cool down. [Repeat until the GaN mosfet self-aligns perfectly.]

    Crazy, I have the exact same setup just air cooled. I've built all 3 vzbot printers. I also designed and machined all my own parts. Gantry tube, pulley brackets, print head mount, motor mounts, and even the bed frame. I also use the EBB36 on mine. Definitely cuts down on wires back to the motherboard. I run the Manta M8P V2 on all of them now. Partly because of having dedicated PWM fan ports. But mainly because the pi and main board are in one package to cut down on wiring. Looks good man! Love the yellow. I went with fluro green on my 330,red on my 235, and fluro yellow and blue on my 150. One of these printers is expensive enough by itself but buying 3 of everything is just crazy.

    Hey, I just wanted to say thank you so much for posting this and putting all the effort into making it. I am a very shy person and get anxiety about talking in discord servers with so many people rather than somewhere like Reddit where it's easier for people to ignore or not see your posts if it's not what they're looking for or something they're not knowledgeable about you know? So, I was unable to find ANY instructions online literally anywhere about making this upgrade. Your video is the only info I've seen between TH-cam/forums/websites I searched about adding the 3x Z/kinematic bed mod, except for one single video where the guy had designed the system himself and i did not like it, as his wasn't designed with VzBot parts in mind. I currently have an X5SA Pro that is mostly stock with only upgrade being an Octopus Pro board and I'm trying to upgrade it to Vz330 AWD just a few parts at a time (I'm poor), and I figured that starting with the machined aluminum bed and triple Z mod would be the easiest places to start. Current plan is to print the VzBot motor mounts for the "2WD" version, buy whatever belts/pulleys/screws I may need and keep the stock motors for now, install aluminum bed with backlash nuts, then buy what I need for the triple Z mod, then upgrade the motors. Might upgrade motors before the triple Z idk. Anyway, thanks again and you've inspired me to maybe actually get on the Discord anyway OH btw, the video is great :) very well done and clear, thank you!

    Thanks for showing your science project. I use hotglue in lots of ways, it is a great material. For a tire it seems much too dense. It might make it work better if you mix it with another less dense material, like perhaps small air filled balls. I need to make some low profile solid tires, and am thinking to take some 10in OD with 4in ID solid tires and cut out the inside to fit into 8in ID wheels. Really would like to know what is inside these tires, guess I will find out as no youtube video shows one.

    • @KaminarisTech
      @KaminarisTech 6 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @@alexandrevaliquette3883 First of all, I am not the author of VzBot, i just made a printer that borrows a lot of design from VzBot. Second, VzBot is capable of printing 5 minute benchy, gantry is capable of pretty ridiculous accelerations, but material (plastic) is incapable of solidifying that fast. So Yes it absolutely can print benchy with same quality in 15 minutes. As for cost, mine is around 800$ right now. You can make one for ~400$, full kit is 1600$, and anything in between depending on your needs. But as i said, it requires skills to put together and time.

      Probably just get linear rails/screws that are however much longer the difference in Z axis build volume between X5SA Standard/Pro and the 400. So, I'm not actually sure of the build volume of the standard X5SA but assuming it's 330 mm on the Z axis for example, and the 400 is exactly 400mm on Z axis, then you'd only need to add 70mm to the lengths of all linear rails/screws that he recommends for triple Z mod on the video and in his BOM
