I saw The Gymslips so many times, even have some pictures (from the Brixton Fridge gig) somewhere. The reason I wore monkey boots (and not DMs). Even had the band's name tattooed on my arm too! (And yes it's still there.) So many great songs and so many that were never actually released - "Soldier" (from one of their John Peel Sessions can be found somewhere online - ideally with the weird sound at the start) must be one of the best anti-war songs ever, even though it's so short and simple. Paula once borrowed a pen from me at the Marquee; I still have it. :-) The second best band of all time.
