Not only did you have the artwork but then could listen to the oh so great lyrics and magical guitars of the Chameleons!

I keep coming back to the Chameleons. Such a great band. Wonderful lyrics and powerful driven melodies. Supreme stuff. This was the first song I heard in my provincial US home.

This band are quickly becoming 1 of my favourite recent discoveries of old classic 80`s bands. I`ve been listening to alot of their music. I wish i`d known about them when i was a teenager.

still ranks in the top of all songs recorded and released in the 80s, though more underrated than other Manchester based bands, the Chameleons were truly THE BEST band in the midlands during this period...

There are still young raw, "real musician" bands putting out shit as cool as this these days, you just kinda have to dig for it more, everything is so niche now, but great post punk style bands are still popping up. But I agree, I love this song and it's awesome.

Yeah great music exists all over the place it’s just not mainstream anymore. Of course, when were the Chameleons ever mainstream? It’s easier to find music now that we have the internet. It just takes some work.

I can definitely here tones of the future bands like inspiral carpets and the charlatans and the stone roses in here. This band got played a lot around Manchester goth clubs in the 80’s brilliant music for amazing times.

The August 2024 issue of MOJO has an article about these guys where they're described as the "great, underrated overcoat band of the '80s." I had never heard of the genre "overcoat band" before, but I like it! The term reminds me of Echo and the Bunnymen ('cuz I remember a photo of Ian et al., in overcoats).

Bought Script of the Bridge in Good Vibrations Belfast 2nd hand back in '84 because the artwork was great, what a gamble. Have all the albums on vinyl and cd. Turned 59 today and still rate this band as one of the greatest ever. Linn/Naim system.💪

"Obnoxious actions, obnoxious results, yeah Teachers who refuse to be taught".....
So true. If they still sound brilliant 25 years later .... what did the public miss?!
    Cheers,

My favourite band of all time. That said the influence they have had on so many later bands is astounding. Heroes in their own right, they have produced well thought out songs which to this day still remain greater than the majority.
A person isn't safe without The Chameleons these days...
