PS, how did you replace the leather/ fabric?
Hi Melissa. In this case I actually just removed the old vinyl, sanded the area smooth and then painted the insert and waxed to protect. I have in the past replaced the leather or restored it but this was cheap vinyl. I’ve also used wallpaper in the past to add a decorative inlay and protected with poly topcoat.

It’s nice that you appreciate our feedback and you want us to enjoy this, but please don’t let it take the fun out of it for ya. I do have to tell you that I love this piece and I was excited to see what you were going to do with it and you satisfied every twist of what could’ve been done with this that I like. I was wanting to see you do some painting and I wanted that leather inside preserved but I also wanted that beautiful Venere restored and you managed to do it all. I love the color choices from top to bottom inside and out. And the details the above and beyond extra details you did. It’s a piece I would love to have in my own home❣️❣️❣️

I won't lie, my heart sank when you pulled out the purple paint... but in the end it looked really good and toned well with the beautiful burl wood on the front panels.

I also like that you wax/feed the inside if the drawers making them ‘user ready’ that not all restorers are doing in their videos. Not my favorite colors but WOW what a spectacular result! It reminds me of a tuxedo, so elegant. I'm usually not a big fan of lots of dog segments in videos but honestly I just love Daisy, she's so exuberant, she makes me smile every time.

Definitely a personal choice situation. As someone who loves wood in its natural state I can't say I like the look of the finished product. That said, surprisingly, the purple, banded in gold, does go well with the walnut burl. I do not care for the white on the interior. From a functional perspective, you did a great job restoring the piece. What matters most is whether the customer likes it. Cheers!

Definitely, what will make your channel outstanding is that it is your unique perspective. The more you are like anybody else the less reason to watch you. Just be you. I really enjoy watching the work you are doing. Personally, I’m less interested in dogs but it is such a small portion of the time that I find it enjoyable.

After reading the wood vs. paint comments (which by the way are ALL over TH-cam) I have come to the conclusion that I am really an odd-duck. I love the paint AND wood combination when it is done well. I have seen many pieces done where painting parts of the furniture has enhanced the look of the wood and made it look even better than if it had been stripped, stained and clear-coated only.

Normally I do not like painting over nice wood. And I'm not crazy about painting over this wood. However you do such a fine job accenting the wood that remains. I couldn't help but admire this piece and actually think of how nice it would look in my living room! Finally adding the gold was a stroke of genius. I'm sure you're a client was absolutely thrilled.

When I heard you say that it will be painted, my heart drooped a bit thinking of the wonderful burl veneer... but then you didn't paint that part! I'm not crazy about the purple paint (and purple is my favorite color) because I like natural wood the most,. I’ve recently started watching these videos and I got to your channel via Jay from Flippingdrawers. All I can say is that I’m in awe of art in motion. On the point of constructive feedback all I can say is that it’s better watching videos like these that better people and better things that once were discarded. The more of Daisy and co the better. Editing is fine, we are not professional filmmakers and we don’t expect you to be. Great job and keep it coming, faults and all, we don’t care about that.
