I have seen a double digit increase in chicken, turkey, beef, cheese, eggs, butter, fresh fruits and vegetables of all kinds, fish, seafood, flours, olive oil, and that's just off the top of my head. Here in Northern Michigan. We purchased a freeze dryer 2 years ago, because canning and freezing our food wasn't enough. We found that out when we lost a chest freezer and a refrigerator within the same month, we had to make a change! We didn't lose anything, because we had thermostats on the refrigerator and freezer that notified us that we had an issue. So we began to cook, and can all of it. We put everything from the refrigerator into an old 1990 refrigerator that we keep in the garage for emergencies. We have gone through 5 refrigerators in 16 years, so we are careful. Now we can buy reduced items and make them shelf stable. We still have the freezers for large meat purchases, or hunting, but we are down to two, and soon we will be at one. I have a good deal of butter in my freezer purchased at what was a sale price in 2020, 2021, 2 lbs. For $4.00. We stocked up during each sale. So now we are inflation protected for awhile.

Try to purchase beef from a local farmer or local processing facility. I have found meat doesn’t shrink like from a traditional store.

Such a good point that packaging is getting smaller (and whoops, you're obviously not in the NH area :) )
