If you terminate a player's contract not only do you have to pay off their wages (e.g. £10M) but you get no transfer fee. It's never going to happen. These players have a contract - that is, we legally promised to pay them a high wage for a fixed number of years. End of.
arsenal did it at some point. yeah you got salery fee, but you dont need to think about them ever again. basicly now we are having players just sucking there fingers getting payd an getting played. quit them, an just take the lose, wich we will get anyway. cause none of the players at united are hungry for anything.

Football has evolved and the profile of a 6 who does nothing but just sit and shield the back four is almost nonexistent. There’s nothing wrong with us getting a physical and technical midfielder who can defend and break up plays aswell as contribute in the attacking phase. Going to take a couple windows for us to get a foothold back into not paying the United tax. Sucks but we're going to miss a couple this window and possibly next summer. When players we want come here for free after a contract end though that will start changing.
I had constantly harped on freezing them out of the squad if we are really a serious club, plan B, loan them out,reduce our load,even if it's 30-40% saved

De Ligt failed at Juve and is not in the plans of Bayern and they are willing to sell and Utd and fans banking on him making a difference. If De Ligt was a top centre back there would be 4-5 clubs after him.
Although sellings are slow and no update on important outgoings, I must say that our action on moving targets for incommings are somewhat positive. Yes Ugarte, and De Ligt situations aren't ideal as we would need them for the team, but pivoting for other targets and doing it quick is somewhat positivity to remain hopeful. We can't control the wages already in place and we can't do much about it now but we are doing what we can to move on and within 1-2 years most of these players on high contracts will be out of the club.
Unlike previous years, United are very willing sellers this summer , they want to bring in more players. They know they need to but selling players with a year to go on their contract is not as easy or as lucrative.
A number of United players negotiated a clause in their contracts , that if the club extended their contracts by year to protect resale value the player gets half of the fee.
If they arent going to budge move on! Simple. Go for tah instead. Go for guehi. Should have bought joao neves and not let psg have him. Should have bought olise. Again if our transfer list exists of de ligt and ugarte...and paying to much for them...again how has our tranfer policy changed!!!
