Pythagorean Numerology: 4 principles that just might change your life

  • What is Pythagorean Numerology? Pythagoras was an ancient Greek philosopher who is widely regarded as the father of western Numerology. In this video, we look at 4 of his principles, and how understanding them, could have a dramatic impact on your life.
We’re often told that our world is random and incomprehensible. But what if there's a different story? One that reveals that our universe has an astonishing level of order, that history only repeats itself, and that there are patterns all around us. The idea that our universe follows predictable cycles is very old, and one of these very early sources can be traced to Pythagoras.
He was remarkably far ahead of his time. Even from an early age, Pythagoras had unusually progressive ideas. He was a vegetarian and he believed in gender equality. He would become one of the first teachers to openly accept women students during a time when only men pursued formal education.
He was also the first person to suggest that the Earth was round. He discovered that the “morning star” and the “evening star” were actually the same object in the sky. And in fact, they weren’t stars at all, they’re the planet Venus. He did this without telescopes or any modern science. How is this possible?
Pythagoras’ insights would form the basis for what many consider to be his most important work: Numerology. It’s one of the oldest systems of knowledge. And it would lead Pythagoras to the belief that numbers have a divine essence.
He formulated four basic principles of numerology:
    1. The Universe is Mathematical
Pythagoras believed that numbers are the most basic elements in nature, and understanding them is the gateway to unlocking all of reality. This idea influenced a wide range of thinkers and scientists and remains one of the most central assumptions in science.
    2. The Universe moves through Cycles
We find continuous cycles all around us, from the cycles of day and night to the seasons in the year. But these cycles also apply to you. Understanding your epicycle is critical to navigate the opportunities and challenges in your life.
    3. The Power of Vibration
Pythagoras discovered that music and numbers are intimately connected, and everything in the universe is in a state of constant vibration, which called “musica universalis” or the music of the spheres. This finds support in a scientific concept in physics known as string theory. But again, this idea also extends to you. You are constantly vibrating with your own unique energy.
    4. The Transmigration of Souls
Pythagoras believed that we are all immortal souls. But what evidence is there to suggest that souls exist? We look at research from Dr. Sam Parnia and the astonishing story of Dr. Tony Cicoria.
    TIMESTAMPS
    00:00 - Prologue

09:31 - The third principle: everything is in a state of vibration

I actually had a brief out of body experience at 15...
Before even hearing things like "Form is emptiness, emptiness is form" ...
Long before learning of the similar experiences of monks & others...
I experienced being completely formless and as see through as air.
Hovering above my body at the ceiling...
I was frantic, thinking I had somehow unexplainably died
I can't explain how it happened beyond saying I suddenly became 'light' (in sensation) and slipped out from the top of my head up towards the air...
I could still think. I knew my name. I was aware of where I was...
    I just had no form!
Just as easily as I had slid out, I seemed to droop back in at some point.
Again, no idea how I got out or back in or why I was given that experience.
After I didn't speak of it for years. Now I tell whoever is open enough to listen as I think it is important for people to realize whatever "we" are...
    We are not our bodies.
We shed them as a snake would shed old skin. It's astonishing even to me still and I experienced this!
Been nearly 17 yrs later, still blows my mind every time I think of this event that lasted mere seconds.
Always makes me wonder about things like Alzheimer's though.
If I could remember who I was separated from my body, how is it our biological brains can cause us to forget? How is our soul connected to the brain at all...
    It's absolutely incredible.

I must say the thing that I enjoy the most about your videos is it brings a sense of Mystery and a sense of fascination in a very mundane and day-to-day world. I wasn't a big believer in numerology because I felt like it was a waste of time but then the way you explain it is very scientific and I am also a trained musician so I see that side. But I have to say since I've done my life path number it explained things that have happened to me in the past. I am currently 65 years old and there are situations in my past that I've regretted but then when I looked at the life path the things that didn't work out seem to lead to situations that are more in line with who I am! I think maybe I can finally let those regrets go! Thank you for that!

Considering that everything has a vibration, i guess that it is safe to say that even souls have a specific vibration and that there is a strong resonance between our souls and our bodies. This would also explain how we come in tune with our "higher self" when we raise the vibration of our body. And since the vibration of babies' bodies is unadulterated by external factors, we could say that babies know best what they need to thrive when it comes to nutrition. That explains why kids don't like to eat veggies, but most parents ignore or are unaware of this fact. I just love it when science "shakes hands" with the spiritual.

@Modern Intuitionist Yeah, and also it's is intertwined with your heartbeat of course. But as for a single vibrational "frequency" I believe many people possess multi frequencies that can vary on this spectrum over time and possibly based on mood as well. These multiple frequencies can be harmonic just like in music, giving every soul it's own unique chord that changes at your death(or ends? or passes on to next chord? haha Death Note)
