It's strange how both, 2017's Resident Evil and Transformers claim to have been the last of their franchise. And both managed to be even worse than the likewise terrible movies that came before. You'd think they'd want to end on a high note and exit with some dignity regained. Transformers has never really been about Transformers. The robots are just there for the SFX-shots, which are the parts sold to the audience in trailers. In reality the Transformers are just a clever marketing instrument to make sure people, who wouldn't usually care about these movies feel intrigued. It already pains me that Besson's "Valerian" will probably do worse than this Transformers movie, even though in Besson I find a Hollywood director with some spine and dignity left. A Bay will always just say: "This worked in the last movie, let's go with more of that!" You'll never hear: "I came up with an original concept!" from that guy.

Megatron making a snarky remark at Starscream's head, except Starscream was NEVER decapitated. He died because his head exploded. Bumblebee speaking again, except there's no reason ever given for WHY he can speak, especially since he tore out his only voice box a few minutes prior. Optimus saying "I haven't heard your voice since Cybertron fell," except he DID hear it in the first movie, and it was British. Megatron saying "We were brothers once," except this is redundant character development because Optimus already made the choice to execute him prior. Earth now has two moons, except Cybertron was clearly BIGGER than Earth before. I actually tracked the stats of TF4 when it first came out and the original official figure was over $300 million in budget, but they did creative accounting and reduced it to $210, except that's not freaking possible. Now, we're supposed to believe that TF5 costs between $217-260 when the CGI is clearly even more complex and present than the last? They're doing everything they can to burry the actual budgets so they don't seem desperate. They want to seem like they're super successful so more people come see it out of obligation. I believe the actual budget of TF5 is closer to $360 million than $260. Now, the larger the budget, the more prolonged the production is, and the more extra money is needed to keep it alive in cinemas as long as possible. So if you don't make more than double your budget, it can't be considered growth. And when a company isn't growing, it's shrinking relative to the growth of other companies. TF5 has the slowest gross of any film in the franchise, and it's making a vast majority of that money overseas, which is never as valuable as making money on home turf. They've lost A LOT this time. It might even undo the growth they've had from the entire franchise.

This movie was horrible. It should be used as a torture method. No flow, no structure, no storytelling. I understood what was going on in all the prior movies even if I though it was dumb. Once they got to England I was done. I walked out. The entire reason for watching these movies are the final battles and I couldn't hold on till then. lol
Why isn't Bay ever pushing the envelope ? Because this is the same shit as before, instead of adding such autobots like Rodimus Prime, Blur, Smokescreen or Wheeljack it's just the same boring nobodies as before as well as humans with way too much screentime chewing the scenery.

What really pissed me off is that the movie had a scene that was put in the trailer that was a straight up lie Spoilers below It seems like the trailers of this movie were making it seem like it was gonna be Optimus Prime going against the autobots, and there is a scene at the end of the trailer that looks like Optimus spinning in a circle slicing up a group of transformers, the problem was that that scene was right after he turned good again, he was killing a group of decepticons, but in the trailer they tried to trick us into thinking those were autobots that he was killing, they even made his eyes purple during that scene ONLY FOR THE TRAILER! In the actual movie his eyes were normal, God I hate false advertising

disappointed when i saw barricade in this movie, he was my favorite desepticon in the first film and here he doesint even look menacing like he did before, and the lack of a 1 on 1 battle between Bumblebee since i consider them rivals made me mad.
It’s kinda lame that they made “the staff” as the new cube, it’s like a theme now for every single movie. First the cube, second the allspark, third the pillars, fourth the seed, and now the staff. Can there just be a movie with a different storyline? I would love to see a movie without whiny screaming people that just get thrown around and barely do anything. They should just make a prequel movie on Cybertron with the war and only transformers.
I will watch a movie if it has one of these two factors in it... Whether it's good, or whether it's fun. If it's one of those, I'm set. Transformers 5 just seems like a fun time, you can laugh at it, admire it's visuals, or just get away from reality for a few hours. I'm getting out of school tomorrow, and I might go check this out just for the hell of it, whether if I enjoy it, or if I don't. Just remember, this is only the beginning of what might be an amazing summer blockbuster year. There may be 1 or 2 dissapointments, but at least you can have a good time with them. *(I haven't seen it yet, and I'm not going to judge it based on Chris's review, I'll judge it by myself.)*

Who here thinks that a Transformers apocalypse movie would be cool. The humans have been wiped out and now Earth is a battleground where the Autobots and Decepticons are fighting for the planet. The autobots have all been wiped out except for Grimlock and Bumblebee and there are huge amounts of Decepticons that the autobots have to survive against. The autobots have to get to Optimus Prime who has been captured. Optimus has the key to creation of more autobots and it is crucial that they find Optimus to finally get the upper hand in the war. Like if you agree that this plot would be better than any of the Michael Bay Transformers movies.
Humans have been part of Transformers lore since G1, and they have always been the main characters of the shows. The only shows I can think of that don't feature any humans are Beast Wars and Beast Machines, and Beast Wars arguably does feature them with the Maximals protecting the first humans from the Predacons, and we all know how audiences reacted to Beast Machines.
Damn, you should pitch your idea to Hasbro quick before they reharsh the same shit over and over again! I mean, all annoying humans are dead and Transformers become a post-apocalyptic survivor movie? I'd pay money to watch that any day now.
This movie felt too rushed. The scenes when they give Megatron his Decepticon comrades suits the rushed editing, but it wasn't necessary for the whole movie! There was no time to process what we saw, the next scene rushed as if they wanted to cram the movie in as little time frame as much as possible. They could've saved the movie by writing the story better, and letting the scenes breathe like Zack Snyder did with JLSC. The fights, Megatron and some scenes were kinda badass to the film's credit.
As far as I know 4 major blockbuster franchises tried to make a “versus movie” where good guys fight against each other. Marvel, DC, Fast And Furious, Transformers. Let’s just say the clear winner was marvel with captain America: Civil war who did excellent. Then after comes fate of the furious which was good, not perfect but still good. Then DC with Batman v Superman which was just not very good, it had great potential and some good visuals but apart from that it was nothing really. Then last place is Transformers which went really badly.

It seems like the trailers of this movie were making it seem like it was gonna be Optimus Prime going against the autobots, and there is a scene at the end of the trailer that looks like Optimus spinning in a circle slicing up a group of transformers, the problem was that that scene was right after he turned good again, he was killing a group of decepticons, but in the trailer they tried to trick us into thinking those were autobots that he was killing, they even made his eyes purple during that scene ONLY FOR THE TRAILER! In the actual movie his eyes were normal, God I hate false advertising

Will Vaught I didn’t want to pay to see this and decided to just rent it when it came on blu ray. It felt so long I couldn’t even finish it and I only got halfway through it.
It IS long. I started it a week ago and am still.not done.

It’s kinda lame that they made “the staff” as the new cube, it’s like a theme now for every single movie. First the cube, second the allspark, third the pillars, fourth the seed, and now the staff. Can there just be a movie with a different storyline?

Transformers 5 just seems like a fun time, you can laugh at it, admire it's visuals, or just get away from reality for a few hours. I'm getting out of school tomorrow, and I might go check this out just for the hell of it, whether if I enjoy it, or if I don't. Just remember, this is only the beginning of what might be an amazing summer blockbuster year. There may be 1 or 2 dissapointments, but at least you can have a good time with them. *(I haven't seen it yet, and I'm not going to judge it based on Chris's review, I'll judge it by myself.)*

Who here thinks that a Transformers apocalypse movie would be cool. The humans have been wiped out and now Earth is a battleground where the Autobots and Decepticons are fighting for the planet. The autobots have all been wiped out except for Grimlock and Bumblebee and there are huge amounts of Decepticons that the autobots have to survive against. The autobots have to get to Optimus Prime who has been captured. Optimus has the key to creation of more autobots and it is crucial that they find Optimus to finally get the upper hand in the war. Like if you agree that this plot would be better than any of the Michael Bay Transformers movies.
Humans have been part of Transformers lore since G1, and they have always been the main characters of the shows. The only shows I can think of that don't feature any humans are Beast Wars and Beast Machines, and Beast Wars arguably does feature them with the Maximals protecting the first humans from the Predacons, and we all know how audiences reacted to Beast Machines.
Damn, you should pitch your idea to Hasbro quick before they reharsh the same shit over and over again! I mean, all annoying humans are dead and Transformers become a post-apocalyptic survivor movie? I'd pay money to watch that any day now.

This movie felt too rushed. The scenes when they give Megatron his Decepticon comrades suits the rushed editing, but it wasn't necessary for the whole movie!
There was no time to process what we saw, the next scene rushed as if they wanted to cram the movie in as little time frame as much as possible.
They could've saved the movie by writing the story better, and letting the scenes breathe like Zack Snyder did with JLSC.
The fights, Megatron and some scenes were kinda badass to the film's credit.

As far as I know 4 major blockbuster franchises tried to make a “versus movie” where good guys fight against each other. Marvel, DC, Fast And Furious, Transformers. Let’s just say the clear winner was marvel with captain America: Civil war who did excellent.
Then after comes fate of the furious which was good, not perfect but still good.
Then DC with Batman v Superman which was just not very good, it had great potential and some good visuals but apart from that it was nothing really.
Then last place is Transformers which went really badly.
