    Great amp. I got one of these recently and I absolutely love it! Beautiful clean tones and what you'd expect from a Fender amp. It is also punchy at volume, bur despite that it plays nicely at lower volumes with drive pedals too. I can't rave enough about this amp especially given that I play my 1973 fender telecaster custom through it and it sounds like liquid crystal. Nice demo too Big Music Shop. Keep us posted on new fender products. Thanks.

    I didn't know the Vibrolux had two tens. That makes me want it now!

    I just bought one of those Vibrolux. The reverb is so sweet. And the amp has nothing but tone tone tone...

    My father who has sadly recently passed had this amp. It is now in my possession an I play it with a 1962 fender Jap strat Reissue my god it's got such a ballsy sound yet lovely clarity that's not in your face Jesus Christ is it loud though ! 😂👍😆

    I like these, but I think that the HD DeVille ML at $100 less is the best current production model Fender makes outside of the ridiculously priced Vibro King. Yes, the DeVille ML is loud at 60-watts, but you can substitute JJ 6V6's for the 6L6's and cut the power to a club perfect 30-watts while still being able to use the 6L6's for outdoor gigs.

      Keep your Hot Rod amps. I don’t care who loves or swears by those amps - they are made cheaply and their tone is hideous. Absolutely no comparison! Gimme that ‘68 Vibrolux Reverb any day every day. A vastly superior amp and with the Bassman tone stack it can’t be beat. Looks better, sounds far better, built better, is a better priced, classier amp in every way.

    This amp is not harsh/fizzy like it sounds in this demo, which in my opinion, misrepresents the tone of the amp.

      +Tim Vann Would you pick this over a Fender Deluxe?

    • @LeF11
      @LeF11 8 ปีที่แล้ว

      I think thats mostly because he was on the bassman channel which have always had that fizzy harshness when you crank them. The vibrolux breakup is much smoother.

    • @johncartelli
      @johncartelli 7 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      they are two different animals..i have a 66 vibrolux reverb and a 66 deluxe reverb...and they are totally different..you need to try each out yourself and decide.

    How much louder does the amp get as you turn it from 3 --> 6 --> 10. It sounds like it's very non linear, rather it breaks up quickly without getting extremely loud in decibels. Would you say this is true?

    • @madamkirk
      @madamkirk 9 ปีที่แล้ว

      +Jared Holton Yes

    • @MrHistorymakers
      @MrHistorymakers 8 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      A vibrolux on 6 is PRETTY LOUD, I believe they have done some kind of mixing here in this video to keep the volume consistent. Notice there's not even much difference between 3 and 10 in this video, no way that's accurate.

    • @jaredholton3145
      @jaredholton3145 8 ปีที่แล้ว

      Agreed, I play a Fender Super Sonic 22 and it's way louder than bedroom levels on 1.5-2

    • @AverageRider1
      @AverageRider1 8 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      +MrHistorymakers thats because TH-cam compresses the audio signal so much it is hard to tell volume increases.

  • @SickMetalAddict
    @SickMetalAddict 8 ปีที่แล้ว

    Forgive me for the seemingly stupid question, but can you technically have 4 pedal chains through this amp on each input, with an ABCD pedal to switch between them?

    • @fiftyfiveseventy
      @fiftyfiveseventy 8 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      You can, but two is optimal. The inputs are only a 0 and -6db for each channel, so two of your chains would only get a little drop in the preamp gain.

  • @monzo9999

    Does this breakup earlier than the deluxe reverb reissue?

  • @magmaman641
    @magmaman641 7 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    So, Fender 68 Vibrolux Reverb Reissue or Fender 68 Deluxe Reverb Reissue?

    • @irhymeswithpie
      @irhymeswithpie 7 ปีที่แล้ว +4

      If you want more punchy, clear, tightness, and sparkle the Vibroux. If you care to have more bass and sooner break up a.k.a. you prefer grit over clean tone get the deluxe

    • @andischmidt3334
      @andischmidt3334 6 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      the Vibrolux sounds richer and more expensive to me..

    • @davidbeal8054
      @davidbeal8054 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@irhymeswithpie Exactly right. If you ALWAYS play with a fair amount of fuzz/distortion, you'll like the Deluxe Reverb better. But, then you'll struggle to ever get that to sound "shimmery." If you play different kinds of music, the Vibrolux is more versatile. They're both absolutely fantastic amps, and better as you learn how to use them. I have owned a DR and loved it. But I play diverse music styles so the Vibrolux is the one for me. On both the reissues, that thing they did with a Bassman channel and a clean channel is just great, They cost about the same, weigh the same and are almost exactly the same size. And there's a lot of overlap in their range of sounds.. You almost can't go wrong.

  • @harveylopezt

    Does it sound over drums or bass in a gig situation?

    • @Beizeiten78
      @Beizeiten78 8 ปีที่แล้ว +5

      Yep. Most people don't realize that with a tube amp, doubling the wattage only gets you 3 decibels of volume. So a 75 watt amp is only 3dB louder than this. Wattage is only important in regards to headroom.

    • @judahbmusic
      @judahbmusic 7 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      Wattage is important in terms of headroom, but it is equally important also in terms of dB. A 22 watt amp will not be as loud and heard when cranked as compared to a 35, 50 Watt or 100watt. Also, a 1x10 will not move as much air outdoors as a 1x12 or 2x10, 2x12, and it is in these situations that you will notice how significantly ""louder"" an amp with a slightly higher wattage ( 22 vs 35, or 22 vs 50watts) really is.

    • @davidbeal8054
      @davidbeal8054 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@Beizeiten78 Yes this is plenty loud enough for a band in any bar -type venue without need ing to run it through a PA. You might still want to do thatwith itGretsch semi hollow. Beautiful, luscious and growling. I play a little jazz, blues and hard + prog rock. I can always get it to sound perfect without pedals all over the floor. Not the perfect amp for speed metal, etc.
