One more thing, this chapter convicts me. I have an alcoholic husband. I’ve been considering separation/divorce. In this chapter, God doesn’t leave. He stays. He’s near us in all things. I must stay too. I do love my husband. My prayers and hope is for my husband to repent, to be restored to God. Pray for me as I cry, as I pray, I cry, I pray.😢🙏🏽😢🙏🏽😢🙏🏽😢🙏🏽
I noticed that Moses used the phrase “The LORD” 36 times in these 2 chapters today. This is his last chance to remind these people and it’s all about what “the LORD” can do for them and what He commands. He reminded them of the LORD’S COMPASSION, that the He loves REPENTANCE, OBEDIENCE, that He is the once who brings the INCREASE, and that He REJOICES over them when they obey. He reminded them to CHOOSE LIFE and that He goes before them. I absolutely loved the reminder (actually for all of us)that the answer to fear is the nearness of God! And then Moses’ last speech isn’t over yet! The LORD gives him a song to write and teach them! A guy who stutters is about to end his leadership by singing a song. The LORD never quits making us get out of our comfort zones! If we have a willing and obedient heart, He keeps growing us until our last breath!
My God Shot was that God goes before us, just as He was before the Israelites going into the Promised Land. Whatever we go through, He is already there, to uphold, love and guide us.
Today's recap just "hit" me differently today. I heard so much repent & turn back to God. Remember that the LORD alone guides me. Know that God may ask me to do something that is not successful like he did by asking Moses to go ask Pharaoh to let his people go and then harden Pharaoh's heart. This alone, has set me free today. I have been holdig onto a circumstance that I felt "guided" to do. It failed miserably and I have been living in a place with shame and guilt because i felt like I did not "obey" correctly. I am a brand new believer as of January and I cannot express the gratitude of these videos.
It moved me to tears to think that even though God knows that we will rebel in our lack and in our plenty he still pursues us and wants a relationship with us. He leaves the 99 in search of us. What an awesome, awesome God we serve!🙌🏾
My God-shot is that parents read aloud the Words of God and their children will believe. As parents we are the first and best example of God’s love. Let us not place the burden of instilling a love for God on a youth pastor or campus pastor. That is our job. His Word is alive and active. Let us model the Word for our children. Glory to God.
God is a God of Strength and Courage! Three times he tells the people and Joshua to “Be strong and courageous!” (Deut 31:6, 7, 23), not because “You’ve got this!” or because we all have some inner strength. We don’t. We’ve been through the wilderness and have lost loved ones, and now face a challenging future. But strength “comes from the Lord, Who made Heaven and earth” (Ps 121:2). Our courage comes from God’s nearness-He will “personally go ahead of you” (Deut 31:6), and His word is to be part of our very fabric, “on your lips and in your heart, so that you can obey Him” (Deut 30:14). The nearness of God is my strength.
Love this chapter. Through thick or thin, God is with us. God shot for me: I see Jesus, He is the Word who is near or with us and sends the Holy Spirit to helps. “But the word is very near you. It is in your mouth and in your heart, so that you can do it.” Deuteronomy 30:14 ESV
My God shot today is knowing what a loving God he is knowing that we will go against his words but he will forgive us & still love us as long as we repent & let him back in our hearts!❤❤❤
In chapter 31, Moses encourages Joshua to "be strong and of good courage" 3 times. Naturally we as humans live a fearful life but here's a reminder that in the second part of the statement that "God will never leave us nor forsake us", Christ confirms this even in the new testament. Therefore knowing this and living by it is one antidote to living in fear while being courageous. I pray to remember this every second of the day so as to avoid living in fear
Deuteronomy 30:4 - “Even if” ….doesn’t matter….”even if we have been banished to the most distant land under the heavens.” If we will repent, He will Restore and Return. We serve a loving God ❤
"God doesn't just want us to obey him, he wants to be known and loved". This explains so much about mankind! We are created in God's image and that's all WE really want ❤️
Dear Lord, thank you for your pure, everlasting, enduring love that cannot be shaken and does not falter even when I sin against you, disappoint you, and do not deserve it. Thank you for not leaving or abandoning me.
Wow. It’s overwhelming to read about God openly sharing He KNOWS the Israelites will rebel time and time again and yet He still desires a relationship. Always providing a way back to Him. Wow. Oh how He LOVES us!!
I love that in 30:6 it says that he will change our hearts and the hearts of our descendants to love him. This will now be a scripture that I profess over my young family.
It's so awesome how God reveals Himself! My sister gave me a message from God a few weeks ago after the revival she attended and where she got delivered, He says I am a warrior! During the revival my sister prayed and she then was revealed a butterfly. God revealed Himself to me yesterday!! I just found out I have precancer in my milk duct, I was given a care bag from my Dr and in it was a card that has a butterfly on it and read Dear Warrior!! How amazing is that!! God goes before us He is with us ALWAYS!! I am not afraid for God is with me!! I pray for everyone to know and believe that! Bad doesn't come from God with God we will rise!
I've already had my surgery but thank you for sharing, I will add to my learning so I can put it with my testimony! God has made this journey into something so wonderful!! I fully gave my life to Christ got baptized and delivered from all bad in my life including cancer!! I ended up having cancer in both my breasts, about a week after my surgery I got my results back from the masses. My left breast was about a size 2 before surgery come to find it was gone, and in my right breast was about a size 9 it shrunk almost nearly half it's size!! GOD IS ALIVE Y'ALL!!! I will forever use my testimony to show people what God can and will do, all you have to do is turn to Him give your life to Him and praise Him!! He so much deserves our love and attention!!
My grandmother was a woman of God like you who used her testimony of God healing her from incurable cancer to testify to EVERYONE she came in contact with. May God continue to bless you and equip you to continue to do mighty things through you for His glory and your good.
I was reminded today just how often the initial results of follow God’s instructions appear to be failure. The more perfectly God’s instructions are followed, the bigger the failure. Only to result in a bigger success in the end.
I have a prodigal prayer I’ve written completely from scripture passages. One of the verses I pray comes from Deut. 30:6 where I pray: “circumcise her heart so that she will love You with all her heart and soul and live.” My daughter doesn’t realize it yet, but that’s where the joy really is. She’s really not living yet.
I have one too. Still praying after 18 years. Yah never forgets his children just as I never forget my daughter. The day is coming when He will bring all these things He has promised to pass. I stand in faith.
My God shot was from 30:6. God would change their hearts to live Him. We can try to obey but it Yahweh that changes the heart. God loves it so much He wants to change our hearts to love Him totally 😍
I knew with my mind to be obedient to God, loving Him above all, but today's reading and listening to Tara-Leigh, I realised that I live God's love outwards to those crossing my path, I had the action but not the changed heart, I feel like a hypocrite.
This series has grown my love for Jesus exponentially even though I thought at the start there was no way I could love Him more than I already did. This has been the best journey ❤
I cant help but cry at the wonderful love of God. As I reflect on God through rhe eyes of today's reading, Moses story and the Isrealites so far. His love is unfathomably deep and endless, to see the heart and unending cycle of human betrayal, mistrust and self destruction, and still keep loving us. Not just for one person but all of humanity - past, present and future. Its so overwhelming and humbling. My prayer is that everyone who reads this is empowered to demonstrate an atom of this love and extend forgiveness to at least one person in their lives who have hurt us. To think about them and release forgiveness
Also, this song blessed me! I could only imagine, the sound of the feet of the Father, always running, way faster than ours to welcome us back❤❤❤ To imagine no anger and disappointment in His eyes towards us as He welcomes us back home, over and over again th-cam.com/video/BaBsx3COdQM/w-d-xo.htmlsi=NTBR3HLo6CR_bHPF
Moses’s desire for peace for the Israelites is inspiring. It’s evidence of his relationship with God. The peace Moses has as he faces his death, anointing Joshua, and the ultimate rebellion of the people is a reflection of God’s enduring love for me. Always there in spite of…
Even though God knew His people would forsake Him & break the covenant He made with them, He still chose to hold up the covenant and give them the land He promised. He chose to go with and before them despite knowing they would turn from Him once they got there. ❤️
The Lord makes it very clear what the people must do in order to choose life over death and He tells them (and I believe use) that they don’t’ have to go searching for it. “It is not in heaven, that you should say, ‘Who will ascend to heaven for us and bring it to us, that we may hear it and do it?’ Neither is it beyond the sea, that you should say, ‘Who will go over the sea for us and bring it to us, that we may hear it and do it?’”
Good morning BR family. God is a loving and forgiving God. Regardless, of the sin, God will never leave or forsake us. All we need to do is repent of our sins. He is where the JOY is!!!💯❣
It’s been over a year. Update. Husband is seeking alcohol treatment. Please pray for a good DETOX program. It will be a long process. Grateful for you all on this Thanksgiving day.
God plans to take the people into the promised land despite knowing they are going to rebel against Him once they are there. Our God is faithful to fulfill His promises even when He knows we will sin against Him. While we were still sinners, Christ died for us. 🙌🏽
It also shows that God keeps his promises regardless of whether his people do or not. He promised he would bring them into the "promised" land and He did!
My God shot was in Chapter 30:11-14. We don't have to go to heaven or across the sea to get it; the word is in our mouth and in our heart so we may obey it.
Therefore choose life, that you and your offspring may live, 20loving the Lord your God, obeying his voice See ch. 10:20and holding fast to him, for Ps. 27:1; 66:9; John 11:25he is your life and length of days, that you may dwell in See ch. 1:8the land that the Lord swore to your fathers, to Abraham, to Isaac, and to Jacob, to give them.”
Deuteronomy 30 provides the promise of forgiveness and restoration. It is not a question of "if" they will go astray, but when. Israel will be scattered all over the world. But, the day Israel remembers how far they have fallen and decides to turn back to the Lord, their fortunes will be restored, God will have mercy on them and gather them back together. In verse 18, God says, "I declare to you today, that you shall surely perish. You shall not live long in the land that you are going over the Jordan to enter and possess." He places life and death, blessing and curses before them, and implores them to choose life. God knows our hearts. He knows that we will go astray. But, He gives us the chance to turn back to Him and repent, and when we do, He will restore us. The Lord has given us His Son Jesus Christ, and when we receive Him as Savior, we receive forgiveness of our sins. We were slated for an eternity in hell, but now look forward to eternity in heaven. Deuteronomy 31, Moses' time is almost over. He is 120 years old. He will not be crossing over into the promised land because of his disobedience. He is soon to die, and Joshua will succeed him. The priests are reminded that they are to take the law and read it to the people every 7 years after celebrating the Feast of booths. All are to assemble to hear the law read, men, women, children, and the sojourner. I love that Joshua is encouraged by both Moses and the Lord to be strong and courageous (verses 7 and 23). This reminds me that when the Lord calls you to do His will, He is with us and goes before us to help us live for Him.
Moses giving all God's final instructions, knowing they will turn away. Yet, God will never leave them nor forsake them in the future, if they turn their heart, back to God. Moses knows he is about to die and tells Israelites; do not be afraid, God goes with you, He will never leave. "When all these blessings and curses I have set before you come on you and you take them to heart wherever the Lord your God disperses you among the nations, and when you and your children return to the Lord your God and obey him with all your heart and with all your soul according to everything I command you today, then the Lord your God will restore your fortunes (captivity) and have compassion on you and gather you again from all the nations where he scattered you. Even if you have been banished to the most distant land under heavens, from there the Lord your God will gather you and bring you back." Deuteronomy 30:1-4
What blows my mind in this section is: Deuteronomy 30:14 NASB1995 [14] But the word is very near you, in your mouth and in your heart, that you may observe it. This is something I tend to feel is only possible in the New Testament. But we were created in God's image and even though we've been corrupted and have fallen, there is still an essence of His Spirit within us that can know Him and respond to Him if we are willing. Even in the Old Testament It says, "the just will live by faith."
I think Deuteronomy 30:6 is not only talking about the immediate future when the enter into the promised land but also about Jesus Christ that would come in the gar future and through Christ they'll be given a new heart.
God tells Moses that the people will break the covenant He has made with them. That this will happen after Moses dies. Their sin will even go as far as to lead them into captivity. He instructs the people when this happens repent. Turn back to God. He won’t abandon you. He will even restore the things you lost but you must turn back to Him. God says He will circumcise the heart of the people and other offspring, so they may love Him with all of their heart and soul. God promises that HE will change their hearts. Heart- heart and mind where desires overlap and drives our actions. God does not want to just be obeyed. He wants to be known and loved. Even though Moses did not have the earthly benefit of crossing into the promised land, he experienced relationship with God. That is joy inducing. Moses wants joy and freedom for the people. He tells the people he’s about to die. He wants to calm their fears. Moses knows that fear can lead to rebellion. God will be their leader and go with them into the promise land. God will fight against the nations and win. God appoints Joshua as the next leader. He reminds everyone to remember the nearness of God. This is the antidote to fear. He tells the people every seven years they shall read all the word aloud during the feast of booths. They will all travel and meet together to read the laws and be reminded. God has a meeting with Moses and Joshua . Moses is about to die. Joshua is going to lead the people. The people are going to rebel. He tells them the people will rebel in the abundance of the promised land. They rebelled in the lack in Egypt. Abundance and lack do not make people rebel. It is their own heart that causes rebellion. God tells Moses to write a song. This song will be a reminder to the people of what God has said when the time comes that they rebel. God provides a way for His children in full knowledge of their future rebellion. No amount of sin can change His mind about Him. Nothing can change His love for us. No one loves like He does.
Its a wonder that Joshua didn't run when he realized he was going to be dealing with the Israelites over the Jordan. Moses taught and was adamant that they would listen, remember and live in God's way. God sure didn't hold back telling them about how they would break His heart and the covenant. Im sure they had good intentions but they would encounter the prey of satan through the inhabitants of the land. I have good intentions and try daily to walk with God and His scripture, and then....i trip up. Its so subtle.
"The antidote to fear is remembering the nearness of God."
Love that statement THANX
🙏❤️🙌🏻
One more thing, this chapter convicts me. I have an alcoholic husband. I’ve been considering separation/divorce. In this chapter, God doesn’t leave. He stays. He’s near us in all things. I must stay too. I do love my husband. My prayers and hope is for my husband to repent, to be restored to God. Pray for me as I cry, as I pray, I cry, I pray.😢🙏🏽😢🙏🏽😢🙏🏽😢🙏🏽
I am so glad for you that you have seen what God wants you to do. God is the restorer of marriages.
I am praying for you this morning.
Please find another Christian to walk with you through this difficult time. God is with you!
Give your pain and hopelessness to God. He is in control. Amen 🙏. Prayed for you sister.
Praying for you and your husband.
I pray your husband will find Christ is the answer and for you strength to hang in there.

I love this! Thanks for sharing!
Well said.
My God Shot was that God goes before us, just as He was before the Israelites going into the Promised Land. Whatever we go through, He is already there, to uphold, love and guide us.
Glory to God. I love that. Thanks for sharing.
My God shot was that we have such a forgiving and merciful God. We just have to come with a repentant heart.
Amen Friend!
It moved me to tears to think that even though God knows that we will rebel in our lack and in our plenty he still pursues us and wants a relationship with us. He leaves the 99 in search of us. What an awesome, awesome God we serve!🙌🏾

I cried too.

I love that He does not just want us to obey but to be in relationship with us, to be known and loved by us!!
What a gracious and loving Father!!
The words "fear leads to rebellion" struck deep this morning. I know I have lived that out. I'm praying on this.
God is a God of Strength and Courage! Three times he tells the people and Joshua to “Be strong and courageous!” (Deut 31:6, 7, 23), not because “You’ve got this!” or because we all have some inner strength. We don’t. Yes the part of its not far like into the heavens. It's near. Just get it, follow it
Gosh, I am so broken! Thank you GOD for knowing that and loving me still!!
We have to be broken before he can heal us. You are right where he wants you!
Wow, our LORD is so good to us, so patient with us & determined to love us despite our constant faltering from Him. ❤
Fear causes rebellion.. Cling to Him, because we will need Him more than ever soon.
My God Shot was “choose life” God lets us choose. He wants to be loved.
My God shot today is knowing what a loving God he is knowing that we will go against his words but he will forgive us & still love us as long as we repent & let him back in our hearts!❤❤❤

God is everything; He never leaves us nor forsakes us no matter how unworthy we may be at times. ❤
Good morning BR family. God is a loving and forgiving God. Regardless, of the sin, God will never leave or forsake us. All we need to do is repent of our sins. He is where the JOY is!!!💯❣
I wouldn’t understand the same way this without you, Tara.
It’s been over a year. Update. Husband is seeking alcohol treatment. Please pray for a good DETOX program. It will be a long process. Grateful for you all on this Thanksgiving day.
Nothing can separate us from the love of God
I have learned a new thing to repent of, my people let us repent together!
This is such a great Bible Study! Can’t wait to open it, read and listen everyday!
*He's where the Joy is!*
This God shot really got me, thank you TLC and team, love you
I see Jesus in this passage…
God's love is so amazing!
This was soooo powerful. Thank you God and thank you God for your servant Tara Leigh.🙏🏻
What blows my mind in this section is: Deuteronomy 30:14 NASB1995
[14] But the word is very near you, in your mouth and in your heart, that you may observe it.
This is something I tend to feel is only possible in the New Testament. But we were created in God's image and even though we've been corrupted and have fallen, there is still an essence of His Spirit within us that can know Him and respond to Him if we are willing. Even in the Old Testament It says, "the just will live by faith."
Wow
Thank You God✝️✝️✝️
Amen Tara-Leigh!

God is changeless and His standards are changeless. Deuteronomy 30:6; 10:14-18, Matthew 22:37-38. Deuteronomy 31:6 and Hebrews 13:5 & 8.
What I don't understand is why God seems like he willingly hardens people's hearts even when he wants to follow him. I can't wrap my head around it
Its a wonder that Joshua didn't run when he realized he was going to be dealing with the Israelites over the Jordan.
Ive always wondered what her necklace says, do any of yall know?
