- Across the ocean in the Middle East sits the nation of Israel. The nation itself is approximately the size of New Jersey, yet this nation has played and will continue to play an important role in the history of the world. Throughout the Bible, the Israelites are referred to as God’s chosen people. If you are new to the faith or even if you aren’t, you might wonder why did God choose Israel to be his chosen people? I mean what is so special about Israel that makes them different from any other nation? The term itself might make it seem as if God surveyed all the nations of the earth and said, that is the one I will choose. That is not exactly how it happened but the fact that they are referred to as God’s chosen people forces you to ask the question why did God choose Israel to be his chosen people? I pray these reasons I share with you will help you understand this a little better.

Thank you Jada. I simply do not question God and why He chooses Whom He Will. I honour, praise and thanks Him without ceasing, not for a minute in my life. I have been blessed beyond anything I could imagine. I do not question His Wisdom in blessing me. God just has His way. I just thank Him for choosing Abraham, Moses, David and all the Patriarchs, the apostles, and a host of others. Can you imagine having a conversation with God like Abraham did or Moses? Wow! My wife of forty years and my friend since primary school, says she has never seen me stressed a single day in my life. I just leave every single thing in God's Hands. I have been Blessed to travel around the world, meet many heads of state, dine with royalty and some of the most amazing people in the world. I always ask myself, why me? Abraham, peace be upon him, was a Muslim and his religion was Islam, which means submission to the commandments of God. There was no Judaism or Christianity at that time. Islam was the religion of the first human being and the first prophet of God, Adam, peace upon him.
Abraham’s descendants were Muslims until Jesus, peace be upon him arrived. Those Jews who rejected him went out of Islam and formed a new religion called Judaism.
When the message of Jesus, peace be upon him, spread to Greece and Rome, the Greeks and Romans, who used to believe that gods come down on earth in human form, made Jesus into a god. As a result of this misunderstanding a new religion called Christianity came into existence.
When the Quran, the last revelation of God to mankind, was revealed it corrected the mistakes of both these groups who had deviated from the first religion of God called Islam.

Of course you are CORRECT. Everything that Christ taught was already written in the ancient Eastern Scriptures, INCLUDING the fact that God's "Chosen People" are indeed they who CHOOSE to love God beyond all things, no matter what one's cultural differences are. The problem is that MOST Westerners refuse to read and study the Eastern Scriptures (or are even aware of them), even though that is where Christ was schooled, and his Sermon on the Mount was strictly Eastern in nature.

The Isrealite-Jews were the chosen people who God had selected to separate from the ways of the paganistic world.
He chose Abraham and Sarah to be the lineage of Jesus.
God's master plan was to bring forth the Eternal Lamb for the salvation of both Jews and the Gentiles. Jesus shed His blood for the world.
The Isrealite-Jews were chosen because God found favor in Abraham and made a covenant for his descendants, which Jesus.
They re not favored over anyone else. God chose Abraham to be in the line of Jesus for the salvation of the world.

And God said unto him, Thy name is Jacob: thy name shall not be called any more Jacob, but Israel shall be thy name: and he called his name Israel. And God said unto him, I am God Almighty: be fruitful and multiply; a nation and a company of nations shall be of thee, and kings shall come out of thy loins; And the land which I gave Abraham and Isaac, to thee I will give it, and to thy seed after thee will I give the land.” The land was promised to Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob. God reiterated the land promise to Joshua when he was about to lead the Israelites into the Promised Land
So apparently, according to the Holy Bible, God gave the promise land to Isaac's descendants, not Ishmael.

Thank you MichaelSmith. No one told me to follow Jesus. I had a few Christian friends who prayed for me, invited me to talk about God. I came to realize how blessed my life was since I was as young as four. God invited me into His Kingdom, took the time to introduce me to Jesus, the greatest name in history. As a young Catholic, I was raised to be a priest. I did not realize I had direct access to God through Jesus His Son. Wow! my whole life turned around. My fiance and I used to read our bible in the Great Court of the University of Queensland every afternoon. Very soon, people started to sit around and listened to what we were reading. We did not invite them, they just came... Soon they were seventy in number and it kept growing. A year later there was five thousand around Australia and the world. Did not plan it, could not imagine it. Before the days of the internet. Forty-five years later, I am still bumping into these good people around the world. God is beyond anything we can imagine... Bless His Holy Name Forever!

Because in our time today God sent His only Son and this is the Lord Jesus Christ {John 3:16}. This verse is from the witnesses of the preaching of the Gospel of our Lord Jesus Christ on Earth that they witnessed and wrote to Let's fulfill it and live it {1John 1:3-4}. There are many verses that prove, that we have prophecies that are near in the Last Days. And I will share this with you as much as I can with God's mercy and help.
The truth is that if you are a follower of Christ, you inherit eternal life, because He is the savior of the Body and this is the Church of God {John 3:6, Ephesians 5:23}. But you must carry out all his commands written by His apostles who are witnesses in the New Testament {1John 1:3-4}. God does not discriminate people, from any country, any condition in this life, any person can access eternal life {Deuteronomy 10:17, Acts 10:34}. And if we belong to Christ, we are Abraham's seed and heirs according to the promise, that the Gentiles are part of the body whose head is the Lord Jesus Christ {Galatians 3:29, Ephesians 3:6, Titus 3:7} . There are prophecies in the old testament that there will appear and save the People of God from the East in these last days to the west {Isaiah 24:15, Jeremiah 30:19, Zechariah 8:7, Malachi 1:11}. Thank you so much; I had never considered this truth. I have always known Israel is God's chosen, and the Christians are blessed to be taken in. My only hope now and forever, i that Jesus returns very soon. I am so anxious, but also depressed because of the countries and peoples of the world don't follow God and Jesus. Dear keahi7646. Rest firmly in the knowledge that God has everything under complete control. His Will always prevails and thank God it does. Twenty years ago, I handed my life over to God completely and have never for one moment regretted it. I do not suffer from stress, anxiety and live a worry free life. IT IS AMAZING! I am forever thanking GOD and giving Him all the Glory He is due.

When they became a nation the majority of them were rebellious throughout that old covenant age, and when Christ came, they rejected Him. Then He died, rose again and ascended back to heaven. In Matthew 24 and Luke 21 Jesus told of the coming destruction of Jerusalem, which happened in 70 AD by the Roman armies. The city was destroyed along with their temple, and God turned His back on them as it is to this day. The veil is over their eyes, they are blinded by the Lord Himself. God's chosen people since that time are all people who believe in and follow Jesus from all nations (Gentiles) and we are the church. If a Jewish person believes in Jesus, that person is added to the church. But there is no future for national, ethic Israel. We are under the new covenant now. AMEN

We must look at the world and God through His eyes. If we do this, God will Bless us and keep us under His wings. We wont go looking for babies to kill or innocents to butcher.
