Ah, yes. Finally, the Slivers get some love on camera. As the Sliver player at my local store, I am always on the lookout for someone actually willing to be the bad guy and pull out his blinged out First Sliver deck. I don't have original Dual lands, but it's still a pretty penny and invokes the exact same type of table talk as Powrdragn was getting. Slivers are a force to be dealt with, and if you play them, you better expect the table to three-on-one you.
I recently got back into magic after more than 20 years away. My first Commander deck was a five-color enchantment deck led by Sliver Overlord, the only sliver in the deck. Sliver Overlord was the only five-color commander I owned outside Cromat. It was a blast to play and surprised a lot of folks. While it isn't a thing today, modifying creature types wasn't unheard of way-way back and was the centerpiece of the deck. The standout cards in the deck were enchantments that changed creature type or dealt with Reflections, an extremely old and unsupported creature type.
Great game! I love the tokens y'all are using too, they are the same ones I use! If anyone is looking for them the artist if Leah Anderson and she has tons of different tokens.
Spiteful sliver doesnt do damage equal to the attacking creature power. Is only the ammount to do lethal damage based on the resistance. Nice game! I love slivers
Look at the classics goblins and slivers those "fancy lands" are nostalgia. My whole era from 11-17 was white and black borders.. all the goblins slivers and squirrels...

I could swear Vi could've chimed in with "transmute doesn't kill a creature it just changes it" then paragon couldn't bounce them back to his hand. They're still there just not as slivers.
Yooooo Slivers! My first commander deck, formed mostly out of my cousin's favorite deck when he passed his cards on to me! Only sad thing was he had Sliver Queen but it seems to have disappeared, that's a $120 card that I might not ever get again. Not that the deck needs it, Sliver Overlord is my commander of choice.

🤔 Why didn't spiteful sliver trigger its Cascade when he entered the game earlier 😅 and why not get Overlord to fetch everything or Crystalline to protect each sliver?
Veggie when the vampires attacked the slivers knocking them vampires out of the game and dealing damage to you, why didn't you beast within the spiteful sliver prior to blockers?
@@DeckedOutEDH Can't really blame people for not playing Werewolves because of that. And not to mention there are very few good cards. Believe me, I tried making one.
@@SamuelKacerik It ain't good. Not enough good cards. I also went the jund route because it has more werewolves, and it performed much better, but still outclassed by other tribes.
He shouldn't have gained that 26 life. They had pseudo lifelink which is worse because it's only combat damage but better because it stacks with regular lifelink
And this is why no one likes playing against First Sliver decks. It's so easy to cast a 5 drop with it out and then get 4 more slivers that all do things when other slivers enter. It just recovers wayyyy to quickly. The only option is to deal with it immediately every time it hits the board or the game will usually end this way.
As a sliver player, I was surprised he got no real heat during the first 5ish turns. That’s usually means the sliver player is going to win. And don’t feel bad about the duel lands. My sliver deck is 8-9k with all the crap I threw in it… you almost need it to make it run quick enough to avoid the hate slivers get.
@@Dragon_Fyre I thought about that two but, if air bubbles would have use olivia voldaren to attempt to shoot down the annoying sliver that bounces back slivers forcin PowrDragn to loose it or put it back in his hand and then veggie using beast within to get the spike sliver
@@DeckedOutEDH yes but I cant get a way to get the 100% of the encore ability, the thing that the token should be sacrificed at the end of the turn and also remove the original from graveyard is kinda middle fueled ability
4:20 - 4:35 that is a load of baloney powrdragn, there is no such thing as SLIVERS THAT DONT WORK TOGETHER. SHRINES and SLIVERS are the dumbest combo collections in all of MTG!!!

Why not accept this? I bought two Unlimited Volcanic Island for 10 $ each in 2001. Still got them and use them. It's not the duals that wins, it's the power of the other cards. Duals are only marginally better.
@hermod because you play cards that are very hard to obtain nowadays unless you want to sprnd a wad of cash. And they are not just alpha basics buts RL duals. They didn't win him the game but did help him with the setup and I think that count. Does a tutor or gaea's cradle win you the game? No but what comes next does
@@maxbodifee3263 I don’t see a problem with running DLs in a 5 color deck. There are plenty of other mana filtering options that make the DL only slightly better. Shocks are pretty close in power.

No because cascade happens first so spiteful sliver enters the battlefield before the first sliver so it dont have cascade yet

how can you cascade like this ??? does the cascade dont stop when you cascade 1 sliver? or is it because all slivers have cascade?
In this case it says all slivers have cascade so you just keep cascading down
but the lifelink happens at the same time..
