    My god that is one of the most beautiful sounding and looking things I’ve seen and heard since the last time I made that claim. But I’m sure it included a high compression and cammed out big block Ford. The stuff of living legend. The 63 1/2 Galaxie with the 427 dual quad side Oiler. It looked incredible: long and low and all business, but cooool. It sounded like bellowing dragon getting his throat cleared on wake up. And it even smelled like a bellowing dragon getting his throat cleared in the morning. Nothing like massive overlap, very high compression, and 102 race fuel to clear your head after the car show. Then there is the legend of the burgundy 1970 Torino GT, 429 Drag Pack, which I had heard sounded even more monstrous than the Galaxie. And menacing to look at. Illegal window tint. Phantom driver. Burgundy on black with louvers, Magnum 500s, hunkered down, factory duals just like the ones in this video(that matters-exhaust exit style shows the attitude of the owner. That’s science. At the airport in the totally illegal, get harassed by the moment pickup zone at the Charleston, SC airport. Perfect lighting. Perfect park. It’s like watching Darth Vader or Jaws shark sitting still, waiting to scare you. Waited until I was asked to move my 1971 Torino 500, hence the affinity for its brother. Never heard it. Never saw the driver. I told the security guy how important it was to hear that car. He didn’t care. So pretty. Never heard her voice. Never smelled her fart. I miss her.

    • @65sohc
      @65sohc 4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@raginreggin3096 It pretty much boils down to the length of the handle. I recently bought a 65 GTO with TKO 5 speed with stock look/length shift handle. Even though it has the optional White Lightning shifter that tall handle makes the throws feel long and imprecise compared to new cars. Unfortunately the size of the old cars dictates a long handle to be able to reach.

They were huge and finned unlike any others I had previously seen. My rotors were a one year only part. I went to the local Parks Auto Parts in Charleston and after the guy telling me he had them in the computer and then ashes him to put his hands on them, I was there toooo quickly. Turns out the correct rotors were still in original packaging after some 30+ years! Unreal! Also big.
