    I have this on order, should be here in a few days. Looking forward to it. Nice airfield and backdrop you have there. Just gorgeous! And a super smooth and long runway to boot. Would be a treat to fly there. Great flying and new subscriber here.

    I put Tundra tires on my HK J3 Cub. No gyro Lemon RX. This is my 2nd plane. Not much on the aileron travel huh? low rates 80% and 30 expo? Do you recall your low and high rates? Have not maiden it yet. I bought a pilot from Castle Rc and fits right in there. Can't wait to maiden her.

    • @buckreynolds1779
      @buckreynolds1779 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Looks easy to fly...take her out on a nice day. My control surfaces are all lined up. If any a touch of up elevator...can trim it out during maiden. Rather elevator down then trying to keep her from diving to the ground.

      Sounds like a plan! It flies great but keep on that rudder on takeoff and landing! Typical Cub haha. Just checked my rates and they are 70 Low, 100 High. Such a great plane and great idea to put the Tundra tires on this Cub!!

    I have the fms model sadly I got all my parts I needed to have my very first flight with a 4ch and broke it in 30 seconds 😞 if I fix it and try to fly again with the rates from 100 to 25 on the wing things will that help me practice?

    • @UngluedModeler
      @UngluedModeler  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Sorry to hear that always sad when a plane gets destroyed. Lemme ask you though…have you flown any planes before this? Or was this your very first attempt at ANY airplane? Airplanes as you have figured out are extremely challenging and if it’s your very first flight and you are gonna try it by yourself I hate to say it but you will crash. It’s guaranteed. You really should have someone nearby help you with setup if you can. Was the center of gravity set correctly? We’re your control surfaces all going the correct way? (Not reversed controls), did you have expo dialed in? What were the wind conditions on takeoff? There is a lot of factors that if it’s your first time you should get some help. Also the best way to learn to fly planes is a simulator of buddy box with an instructor. They will link up to your transmitter and teach you how to fly and when you get into trouble they flip a switch and take over. Anyway. Back to your original question lol. No dialing rates down from 100 to 25 is not correct. By wing things I assume you mean the Ailerons? Try to get a better understanding of basic aerodynamics and the names of certain airplane components. Example, elevator, ailerons, flaps rudder. What does what and WHY it acts like that. Typically a normal setup is high rates will be 100% and low rates will be 70% set on a switch. And exponential dialed in on the control surfaces of around 20-30% to soften the center area of the sticks. Sorry for the long response but if you have any more questions please feel free to ask!! More than happy to give advice and try to help!! Good luck! 👍

      @@UngluedModeler yeah I have a hobby zone champ little small rc plane 3ch and everything was set right like weight and all all settings at 100 just I did not know how to handle 4ch it was very confusing to get it to turn so if I could not try it would hit a tree so more of a panic I believe thank you for getting back to me

    • @UngluedModeler
      @UngluedModeler  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Ok I gotcha. Yeah 4 channel opens up a new world for sure lol. If you dial down the rates I recommend to not go below 60% otherwise you’ll have no control at all. Remember on a tail dragger the rudder is what’s responsible for steering on the ground so if you dial out too much control you won’t have any. Also a taildragger (especially a Cub) on takeoff will require your rudder skills to be on point. Cannot have any hesitation or any confusion as which way to move the controls. Tail staggers always need right rudder fed in on takeoff. And the opposite rudder for landing. Good luck man! Definitely fix that plane up but I reallllllly recommend a simulator on a PC. Real flight is great and it’s how I learned a long time ago haha. Fly safe!! 👍

      @@UngluedModeler I got up from the take off just once up I had idea what was going on 😂 I should have went for a smaller one that can handle the crash till I was used to it but it’s either all or nothing at this point just sucks I spent all most 600 and broke in 30 secs but yes for sure need to try a simulator of some kind to see

      Awesome! Yea it is super frustrating to crash an expensive plane I know. But it can be fixed! Well good luck and lemme know if you have any more questions about setup or anything! 👍

    Howdy. My battery collection is 3S 2200's. Would this plane be enjoyable to fly on those batteries?

    • @UngluedModeler
      @UngluedModeler  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Yes absolutely. I fly it on 3s 2200 also. Flies great. Super fun, plenty of power for loops and mild aerobatics. You’ll love it. Such a good flyer. If you ever get a 4S battery for it it’s a whole different plane. TONS of power!

    • @UngluedModeler
      @UngluedModeler  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      If you do get this plane make sure you get some shaft collars to hold the wheels in place. They should have come with the kit but they don’t. If you fly without them your wheels will wobble around way too much and you’ll have taxi issues. Just put some shaft collars problem solved. You put them on the inside of the wheels to take out all the slop.

      @@UngluedModeler Thanks so much for the quick reply. The plane is great-looking and seems to fly well. As I have plenty of speed demons in my hanger this plane on 3S should be exactly what I'm looking for.. a nice casual flyer. Did u find assembly to go smoothly? What type of glue will I need as I heard there's a bit of gluing required.
      Thanks again!

    • @UngluedModeler
      @UngluedModeler  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      No problem at all! Yeah it’s a real easy build and some very minor gluing. I just used some foam Tac type glue. I used a product called Foam2Foam.

      @@UngluedModeler One more question. How would you compare this to the Tundra V2? The reason I found the Swiss Cub is the fact the Tundra is out of stock in the USA. Per their note to me today, it will not be back in stock until the end of October. Thanks again.
