Your videos are so beautifully produced and in my opinion, done with more 'Class' than anything out there. Clean and really fun to watch. My mind never wanders because your stories are so good at keeping the viewer engaged with pure quality content. The marriage of your violin with B roll is not only unique to your channel, but the best thought out combination I see anywhere. I loved the violin as the camera panned across the classic European architecture . . . Just beautiful. You two are really good at this and really fun to follow. Thank you for sharing your adventures!

I'm sure you are light years more experienced in sailing than I am, but here goes anyway: maybe I've not looked carefully, but I've not seen a boom gybe preventer installed on a magic carpet (Bravo to whoever thought of that name . . . a winner!)

You should make a video showing all the different cloud types you see and the weather you encounter sailing along with those types of clouds. Talking about temperature, I had a friend, who came to Canada from Africa, comment that we were so blessed economically to have our winter snow because it forces the government to get jobs done before the snow falls.

Good grief! What an enormous improvement the wonderful city Shaka?? with its ceramics and its great marina was/is compared to the trash beach last time. Thank heavens. A simply wonderful video with very beautiful footage again and as always. Nearly unbeliiievably clear turquoise water with white sand. Simply a dream... sigh!
In my opinion respectively for my personal kind of taste this definitely is THE first class top quality sailing channel and meanwhile the only one I watch.
Thank you very much for making, taping, narrating and editing so extremely well. Also for uploading and sharing.
Best regards, luck, health and wisdom.

Hello from New York, Happy New Year to you both. Thank you for the informative take along. Love your violin and the nautical explanation provided as to why you do things. I live on an island but sadly very little experience or exposure to sail boats. Some thing you had said in one of your previous videos concerned ocean pollution and how to combat it best was to have or develop a relationship with the ocean. You both are providing that experience and awareness for me. Thank you . I had no idea the ocean was so clean and clear and at the same time so dirty with plastic. Looking into how to best impact that here at home. Several beaches do winter clean up programs with volunteers. I have signed up for several. Looking forward to your next adventure.

Looking at your anchorage just east of Punta Sottile Light, "Magic Carpet" was photographed from an orbiting photographic satellite and has been immortalised on Google Earth. In the area where you were anchored, you can see the small rowboat (11:39 seconds) next to the rocks and the blue bimini on your yacht. Safe passage to you both. :)

This is so amazing truly a magical life you live! How do you afford to travel? Do you work when you stop along your journey or do you work mostly online so can operate anywhere in the world! I ask as I am in a 9-5 job so I cannot see myself following your life any time soon.

Thank you Daryl! We began the trip by saving up and then also working in the winters. As we were doing that, we were also working on building the TH-cam channel and our Patreon account, which are now our main sources of income. Anything is possible, especially when you're lucky enough to come from countries where you can find decently paid jobs that allow you to save.

I enjoyed your video. I noticed your halyard(?) rope. Are they 12 or 14 mm? 12 mm is easy to come by but I found it difficult to find a supplier for the 14 mm braided polyester line - unless picking it up at sky high marina boat supply prices. Can you advise one?

    Hello from Canada!
My wife and I really enjoy your videos. It helps us survive the winter while we're on the hard 😢. We're planning on crossing the pond at some point and cruise the Med.
Just curious, what is the average price for a night in a marina in the med?
Do you use a cruising guide or just go by word of mouth?
    Keep up the great videos!
    Cheers!
    Bryan

    • @SailingMagicCarpet

      Hello Bryan!
      Glad you enjoy the videos😊
As for the price...it would help knowing what size boat you two have.
As of planning we are pretty spontaneous. We knew wen want to go around Sicily for example. but because of not planning every Anchorage, that gives us freedom to go wherever we hear of smth nice . The prevailing winds are part of the plan though..so we try to avoid beating against wind for longer periods when possible..
