Absolutely LOVED this episode! No descriptions or explanations needed...a sensory experience significantly elevated and intensified for the viewer. Thank you
I used to watch your videos to live vicariously through a couple reaping and sailing boats. As an old man now, I live vicariously through the love you can hide from your camera lens when Aladino is your subject, and the love he has for you with ever glance of his. The way you speak to each other. Thank you from a lonely romantic old man.
For me it brought out the memories… the morning shot with a coffee , still water, and quite sitting in the cotpit just taking it in. There is always a little lap against the hull to hear.
There have been periods in my life when I felt as if I was in the right place, doing the right things, with the right people. I have the sense you two are there now. This feeling is more rare than one might assume. My hope for you both is that you recognize this and savor every moment. Maya, you have a natural calling for film making. Aladino, you were born to mend boats. Together, you are both at the right place, at the right time, with the right person. The result is magical! It may be too late to suggest this, but I hope you both keep Magic Carpet 1 and split your time between both boats. What could be better? Your lives and the channel would be richer for the experiences.
Think you got your point across so clearly by posting this one without commentary... normally I love to hear you both talk, but making this one this way really brings out what's so special about getting back to what it's ultimately all for! :-)
Oh my goodness what a beautiful serene tasteful episode! I loved hearing what you are hearing without all the chatter and music that is sometimes helpful but sometimes distracting. ❤
Love this episode, and when you know the long days and months spent in boat sheds, in front of the editing screen, appreciate how it must be for you to just be, peacefully on a boat. Not just any boat but 'Our Magic Carpet I'.
Magic Carpet is such a beautiful boat! If I lived closer to water and could afford it, I'd buy it in a second when it comes up for sale. Aladino's craftsmanship literally glows in the woodwork.
Excellent, no dialogue and a total storey and atmosphere depicted in pictures, i watched every minute totally enthralled. What Maya lacks in self proclaimed shipbuilding skills, she makes up manyfold in cinematography, an absolute gem.
At long last unassailable evidence that to make excellent videos endless yapping is not necessary. All that is required is beautiful pictures drawn together with imagination. Excellent.
I told my wife that I follow this young sailing couple and love your artistic style. I showed her the part of the video of the inside of Magic Carpet that had the flowers. She spied your La Crueset pot on the stove and said, “she’s also an artistic chef!” Thanks for the peace in this video and it’s great to see you both relaxing after the hard work on MC 2.
Thank you for the Serenity you provided in this video. Peaceful with beautiful Vistas to just take in and let the beauty warm you as though we are there with you. Maya, you are so artistic, and I thank you from the bottom of my heart for such a meditative experience. You have both worked so hard on Magic Carpet 2, and to see you just at peace on your 'Magic Carpet' as you float away and immerse yourselves in the beauty of Mother Nature, brings a calm to my soul. 🥰
I don't think you could have expressed your satisfaction and emotional unwinding of getting to step back from the refit and unwinding from the stresses of working as hard as you have than to have shot this video the way you did. No talking, seemingly no agenda, just quiet shots of each other and nature. Thank you for letting us share in your re-connection to all the things that have made this such a great channel over the years!
wow the shots the angles the audio. This is what you were designed to do. The boatyard Refit Pain.. and get it now.. I've been retiring my boat since 2020. I feel your pain and love the process at the same time. But theses shots, camera angles as editing. I finally understand your pain. You are so good at this part of the process. The shots are perfect. Bringing out the feelings every sailor can feel and total. Relate with.
What a brilliant episode. Very soothing, letting us immerse into the calmness. This definitely doesn't need any voice over, all is said by saying nothing.
Back in the day I sailed Folkboats, Twisters and a Contessa 26. If I was forty years younger I would make you an offer for Magic Carpet. There were a few in the West of Scotland in the seventies, I always loved them.
Thoroughly enjoyed this video. It is wonderful to see the two of you enjoying life together and thankful that you two shared part of that time with us.
oh wow! This beautifully shot episode tells the story of what you needed after all you have been through. The images and sounds with subtle music took us with you to bring calm to where there was chaos. Thank you for sharing these moments - it's what I needed to ground me after the hectic week I've had.
The "Solace" episode - seems to have embodied at least part of the goal of "seeing the world as slowly as possible"; and what a stark contrast to all the work and hustle having to make that big move, that let you get away and do THIS. Very cool.
Eventhough I always really enjoy your comments and deep thoughts, this episode is really something special: You really showed the little beautiful things that we keep overlooking in the hectics of day to day life...Thank you for this quiet and thus inspiring Sabbath-experience!
I have watched every one of your videos. The ups and downs. The challenges and the beauty. Your clear love for one another and for your travelling home. You have both been so brave to share so much of yourselves with us. It is so clear that this time of withdrawal was exactly what you both needed. I think that this is the best video you have ever made. Your storytelling is masterful. The sound editing was absolutely crisp. The slug. THE. SLUG. Keep going. You are a source of encouragement and inspiration to this viewer at least (and I'm sure many others). I am so happy for you both.
One of your very best presentations. Your narration is always wonderful but as you proved, isn’t always needed. As they say, a picture is worth a thousand words! I watch hiking/trekking presentations by two different people who go all over the world into the remote country most of us will never see. They are well know for solo adventures with no words spoken. Their visuals tell the story. Kraig Adams is one and the other is Harmen Hoek. Might check out. Captivating. This video of yours was done in same manner and equally captivating. Perfect! We could feel the mood and read your thoughts. Wonderful views of Magic Carpet! We know the days are short to see her. So beautiful! The little boat that could!
This is my new favourite video of your channel… ❤. I live on the west coast of Sweden and had a sailing boat for two years, but sold it as I spent more time maintaining/repairing it than I was sailing it. Lately though, I long to have one again. This episode massively reinforced that feeling. But… the work, the potential problems, pretty much being on my own to manage it all, and lack of skills to do repairs/bigger maintenance . Engines and through hulls scare me the most. Oh well, maybe two more of these beautiful videos and I will jump into the deep water again anyway… 😉😊
...just tuned into your channel a few months back (for the refit), having followed others for several years. Gotta say, the opening five minutes, in fact the whole episode is some of the finest video I've seen. So compelling, for some reason struck an emotional cord that was pretty intense. Loved the quiet, the imagery, what the camera revealed without voice. Part of it was bringing back memories of my own experience cruising - inflating the dinghy, stepping out into the cockpit, finding a slab of stone to sit on, the orchard on the beach, all that stuff... brilliant film making😊
Stick around. You're going to LOVE it here. Maya is utterly inspired. Her videos are poetry for the eyes. Aladino is a top notch craftsman/sailor. The two paired together equal unparalleled film art.
This episode was a beautiful art piece! I could almost feel the stress falling away as you enjoyed the quiet, gorgeous, refreshing Salt air! Over this long weekend, I started watching from the beginning of your channel again. Ah! The French countryside ♥ Your videos were excellent from the start! What a gift you carry, Maya!
One of your best videos ever. Hope your time aboard Magic Carpet in Europe brings you the same peace and relaxation this video brought us. Fair Winds from S/V Celestial
I am happy that you are finally finding some tranquility after so many months of intense boat work. This beautiful video truly spoke for itself. Magic Carpet is still an amazing beautiful vessel.
Truly magnificent, the solitude nature aboard Magic Carpet a home Maya and Aladino truly deserve after months of hard work on MC2. Love this episode, so peaceful, serene capturing their life together in Sweden.
So nice to see the areas I've been sailing for decades. Mayas skills behind the camera is as always execellent! Looking forward to see your travels further into Norway.
I am completely absorbed by the story you are telling. I have watched your videos for a long time. I see this one is about memory because I know your story. This has been your ship of dreams but there is a new ship. You are counting up the memories and making a record. You can never forget this place and time. You have taken it all in and it is part of you now. Wonderful, thank you for making it.
Another masterpiece! ❤ Everybody who knows (and loves) sailing (like me) can imagine the feelings you have… The Quietness of an anchor spot, the connectedness with the nature around, the wind, the water, the sky. Pure life!
This is such a fantastic episode. Could watch it over and over again! It’s so good to see you back on the water! You inspired our own journey a lot and this winter we’re preparing our old motorsailer to finally get to the Baltic Sea next season. Until I get there myself I’ll keep re-watching episodes from the Scandinavian Summer and would Love to see more episodes like this one. Thanks for sharing 🙏
I began by being frustrated because the title music had not appeared …. And then l became more and more relaxed as l attuned to the perfect peace of mind which gradually overcame me. This is, indeed, part of travelling the world as slowly as possible, and you couldn’t be doing it better. Thank you.
Yes it is like the memories that play back when I see the picture of my son making up a game using the depressions in the stones on Rialto Beach at La Push. If you have not been there I hope the weather will allow you to stop there when you head south in Magic Carpet II.
SOOO good to hear your laughs again, and see the smiles. Good for you you did it, and good for me you share it. Wonderfull with so a calm and easygoing film.
A Turley reflective view through the eyes a Consummate artist both in visual and tactile mediums..thank you for sharing what has to be one of our most memorable posts. Made my day
This episode was a serene and refreshing departure from the usual hustle of renovations. The tranquility of nature sounds, paired with the gentle music, created a perfect backdrop to showcase the beauty of your original sailboat and the stunning Norwegian landscapes. It's incredible to see the contrast between the intense renovation work and these peaceful moments. This episode felt like a soothing journey, reminding us of the beauty and peace that sailing can offer. Thank you for sharing this piece of serenity with us. As a Norwegian, seeing these familiar scenes was a true blessing. Keep sailing and inspiring!
Beautiful, calm, peaceful moments, it is wonderful. seeing you both taking a chance to rest , recharge and enjoy the beauty that surrounds you Cheers!!!
That jellyfish! Lovely episode. Your Norway looks a bit like where I live in Ireland - still uncrowded, and you can still find silence. Your style comes through even when the focus is on the countryside, or each of you individually. Both of you are there. Nice to hear Maya laugh again - good man, Aladino, for helping it happen.
This episode is a wonderful example of why we all started watching you. Enchanting film making, encapsulating dreams that we can share. With that in mind I question the need for a Magic Carpet 2, I admire your ambition and the amazing work you have invested but was it really necessary as Europe remains a very large unexplored canvas for your explicit story telling gift. Nevertheless I continue to follow with admiration, thank you both.
There is a sweet spot in every road trip where we all stop talking and just.... be.... thank you for sharing that moment with us. You are master story tellers, and even the silence tells an interesting tale.
That was brilliant Maya, well done, so enjoyable. It was really lovely to see you two have time to enjoy the break before work starts again. Super music choice as well. ❤❤❤
Absolutely LOVED this episode! No descriptions or explanations needed...a sensory experience significantly elevated and intensified for the viewer. Thank you
What a bold and brillant move to make this episode quiet as nature. You are truly an artist, Maya!
Thank you so much, I'm so happy you enjoyed it. It was so cathartic to make!
It is a pleasure to get this impressionen. Just enjoy. Thanks
I knew I wouldn't be the first to express this thought. Lovely work!
This beautiful to my soul, thank you allowing us to experience the peace you have in your life. 😊
Award-winning storytelling with outstanding cinematography and directing. And very soothing and comforting to watch.
Is there a award for short documentaries, I think Venice festival. Please enter this episode, a complete story on its own.
I used to watch your videos to live vicariously through a couple reaping and sailing boats. Love this! No voice over, just the sounds of the experience. Well done! good mics, nice light too. Keep up the art, your life is art.
So peaceful, so calming, just a beautiful video. Hope you 2 can decompress in Sweden!
So serene, so beautiful, so eloquently captured and shared. Thank you!
For me it brought out the memories… the morning shot with a coffee , still water, and quite sitting in the cotpit just taking it in. There is always a little lap against the hull to hear.
Great idea to have this episode with minimum talking. Letting the spectacular scenery and Magic Carpet speak for themselves. Loved it!!
That video is so restorative and meditative I had to watch it twice sitting by the window with a coffee in Ottawa Canada.
Beautiful short film which captures the essence of Scandinavia.
Nice to see this video with no verbal narration and only incidental talk. Livin' the dream!
There have been periods in my life when I felt as if I was in the right place, doing the right things, with the right people. I have the sense you two are there now. This feeling is more rare than one might assume. My hope for you both is that you recognize this and savor every moment.

Beautiful video. Photography and audio put together so well. I could watch these for hours. Thanks for sharing.
The slow, poignant mellowness of this episode is stunningly beautiful. Thanks for sharing 💜
Magic Carpet is such a beautiful boat! If I lived closer to water and could afford it, I'd buy it in a second when it comes up for sale. Aladino's craftsmanship literally glows in the woodwork.

You know this channel is special when you can watch through a 15 min montage of clips and be perfectly satisfied.
We really should do more than appreciate our artists we should cherish them. A beautiful episode well done magic carpet
WOW !!!
I totally needed this. Its cold and dark winter outside, my fireplace is lit. Watching this, remind me of summer. Thanks! ⛵️

I have seen others create silent "B-Roll" footage, but this was actual film-making, creating a story without dialogue. Excellent work!

Loved the "silent treatment." Nice to see you two relaxing and enjoying life again away from fiberglassing. :-)
The "Solace" episode - seems to have embodied at least part of the goal of "seeing the world as slowly as possible"; and what a stark contrast to all the work and hustle having to make that big move, that let you get away and do THIS. Very cool.
Incredible beautiful photography, and editing, and storytelling, and sound design. Very poetic and expressive, full of feelings
A lovely peaceful retreat. Thank you for sharing.
And thank you for watching :)
After the noise and push literally for months, it is so refreshing to experience the calm and quiet. So happy for you.

If All is Lost is one end of the spectrum of sailing dreams then Finally - What We've Been Waiting For is the other. Bravo.

No words needed in such a beautiful and peaceful place.
It's great seeing you in a happier place Maya.
Mesmerizing film, well done and thanks!
Thank you! You both deserve some peace after all your hard work. A relaxing & theraputic video, my kind of sailing too.
Your love for each other is readily apparent in this video...as if it isn't in the others. May that continue, forever.
That was lovely. Just like a Swedish film! The music choices are superb too.
Yes it is like the memories that play back when I see the picture of my son making up a game using the depressions in the stones on Rialto Beach at La Push. If you have not been there I hope the weather will allow you to stop there when you head south in Magic Carpet II.

Strömmarna is a beautiful quiet oasis on the Bohuslän coastline!
WOW! Visual, editing, energy all bang on. Thanks 😊
Sometimes less is more, and so it is here. Fantastic videography and editing!
Well played Maya! Well played. It takes some courage to be an artist. This, to me, was like a transfusion. Love it!
...
Great episode. No need for dialogue when the cinematography says it all.
I am surprised there was no violin in this video. You both look so peaceful and happy. I’m happy for you.

Wow, not at all what I expected. What a surprise. Will watch again.
...the loon always calls to my wandering heart (@10:21)
Loved this, you transported us to Sweden and inspired us to explore ourselves next summer!
Thank you guys for capturing and sharing the tranquility of the place with us!!!

What an episode. Loved it. Thank you.
So glad you enjoyed it! Thank you!
Glad to see that you two are finally able to get some very well needed and deserved time to simply relax and refresh yourselves. Good going!
Loved this! Love that beautiful boat too. I hope you are so proud of yourselves!
Loved it, I do hope that you are having a great but restful time. Xxx
That was brilliant Maya, well done, so enjoyable. It was really lovely to see you two have time to enjoy the break before work starts again. Super music choice as well. ❤❤❤
