I remember how sad I felt when I found the swordsman hiding in the back of his store. It's this thing you don't ever really consider, how the rest of the characters feel about the plight of the world. Majora's Mask did a phenomenal job of conveying their fear, trepidation, and humanity in a way that most modern games can't even do.
Awww, I think Romani and Cremia's scenes are the saddest. A sweet little girl who wants to grow up. A world-wise girl who knows truly that no one is ever truly safe, and has resigned herself to taking what she can out of life. A sister who wants to shelter her from the truth for as long as she can, hoping that their last night can be a happy one. Heartbreaking.
I can imagine the funny scene afterwards with Cremia so relieved about the moon's disappearance that she almost forgets she now has a drunk/hungover Romani to deal with.
4:15 Man, I really feel bad for Cremia and her sister. The reason she's giving Romani the Chateau Romani is because it will ease her pain when the moon lands. Good thing Link was there to stop it, huh?
It’s mostly to give Romani the chance to be an adult because Chateau Romani is a rite of passage that Romani will never have, because of the moon falling
That part with the Romani sisters made me cry... Giving her Chateau Romani even though she would never end up being old enough, and the promise of seeing her in the morning... DAMNIT EYES STOP IT ;_;
To add to the sorrow sauce, another reason behind giving her the Chateau Romani is to drug her so she does not feel the pain when the moon falls down. It is very obvious that that milk is used for recreational purpouses and likely contains alcohole.
You know, this sad scene can become a funny one if you realize Link stops the moon. Imagine both Cremia's relief when the moon just stops and a slight bit of horror because now she has to deal with a very drunk Romani.
Blank TH-cam profile If that’s how it works, maybe. It’s possible that time is being rewound, not creating any additional timelines. Having who knows how many death timelines would be a little morbid for Nintendo, even for this game.
omg.... that part about Anju and her mother discussing the emotionally worst of possibilities about Kafei... I sympathize deeply with Anju... even though she is a polygon... well I sympathize with ANYBODY who has had to go through emotional and confused times like that
The Romani and Cremia part is really sad. Cremia knows that the moon will fall and they will die and she wants to make Romani's last day memorable. Of course, what it makes it REALLY sad that Romani doesn't know this. It made me cry... :'(
exactly, that's why i love majora mask over ocarina of time, the history is so dark and sad that's just perfect... Cremia knows there will be no tomorrow (unless you do something about it) but try to make Romani's last hours happy and perfect... the moment when anju and kafei are finally together... just 1 hour before everything is going to dissapear... man i love this game... PD: Anju's mom is a bitch.
@@kingshoutmon5256 Not to mention, it's heavily implied Chateau Romani is alcoholic. If Romani is intoxicated, then maybe she'll remain unaware of their impeding demise.
Actually the two characters that you started to make friends in the game the most, are Romani and Cremia... You helped them save the cows, you helped them get the milk good to the town and you made them get better together as family before all is over. But as Link you don't want that to happen, cause you love them too much so you try to change the fate.
My mind has been blown at the eavesdropping discussion in The Stock Pot Inn!! All these years and the countless times I've played through and explored, and never found that for myself!
When you were a kid, you always thought Cremia was finally letting Romani try Chateau Romani to fulfill her little sister's last wish before the moon falls. But when you grow up, it finally dawns on you: that's not the whole truth. Cremia isn't just fulfilling her sister's last wish-she's intoxicating her so she won't die in fear. And this is an E-rated (E10+ on 3DS) game…
I didn't completely understand the part where Cremia asks Romani to sleep in her bed, and then I read in the comments because it was the third day... Now, i feel so sad for those two.
I love how this game pulls off such powerful dialogues without all the pretty HD cinematics and voice acting. Cremia knows there won't be a tomorrow when she gives Romani the "grown-up milk" but she lies and says she's acknowledging how she's matured. There are so many beautiful moments in this game.
the other thing that people don't often really seem to take note of is that Romani milk is fermented, it's alcoholic. Cremia is giving her sister alcohol so that she'll sleep. So that she won't wake up even during the massive earthquakes that come with the moon falling. She's sparing her sister the horror of waking of at the end of the world. Letting her sleep and dream in peace all the way to the end.
Nice example of "show, don't tell" when we see them walking together : the little sister is clueless and happy, the grown woman is bittersweet but compassionate...
I'm way too late but who really knows if Romani doesn't know about the moon falling. I mean she knew about "them" coming and knows Cremia have a crush on Kafei. Like Romani is incredibly aware of things than the credit Cremia gives her for.
When I was a child, video games were my LIFE, and I took it all very seriously. I stayed up late at night to play Majora's Mask. I was thinking of quitting and playing a different game until I stumbled upon the Ranch. Everything there felt so wholesome. But on day 3, when I saw that saddening dialogue...I didn't wanna quit anymore. I wasn't playing a game for fun anymore. I wasn't playing to stop evil. I wanted to help the Romani sisters. It's those deeply emotional yet little pointless secrets and stories that really give this game it's own character. But my childhood mostly remembers the horror in the townspeople. Still creeps me out.
I just love the pessimism, the paranoia and fear that is everywhere during the third day... Its Nintendo, but its not a happy game. Sometimes its downright depressing. And that's why i love it. Also, why TP music?

thats actually pretty touching, the whole scene with Romani and Chataeu on the 3rd day.
man i gotta play this game again...
The last 2 parts of scene 4 are the only ones i haven't seen, so thanks!
1:45 I like this moment...!
12 years and I still believe this is the BEST game EVER made.
LOL 1:53 it says "You could get used to this!"
1:46 the best price ever
good point :D
this is one of the reason this is my second BEST zelda ever, it has to many things and secrets, and is the saddest game i have ever played.
This is the best game ever! I don't know any other that made me cry at the scene of Cremia saying to her sister to sleep with her, i imagine what would happen, in the end and she is protecting her sister but they all die, and Romani didn't know what was gonna come ... so sad :(
I wonder why link feels all warm and fuzzy inside..... :D
I remember watching this video back in the day... this was how I learned MM is more than meets the eye
This game was full of surprises anyway. It's so sad to see how the characters react (Creamia almost made me cry!)
