- The British Army Mess Tins are actually quite amazing. the Firebox Stove is too. I marry them up in this video to good effect, in fact I was very pleased with the result of this cook.

Another great cook out Chris - and what a great vegetarian breakie it was too ! Yeah, that firebox worked so well to get 2 mess tins to work at the same time. And mess tins are such a practical option. I like the way that you can pack stuff securely inside them and they are a great shape for packing too. Thx for sharing your breakfast Mate 😊👍
Hey Giles, absolutely right about the mess tins. They are so simple yet pack well and act as storage as you say. Delighted it worked so well with the firebox. I must confess it was two in the afternoon but I hadn't eaten all day so it was technically breakfast ha ha.

The Firebox nano is my favourite twig stove by far and seeing you use the big brother previously inspired me to get one. Apart from the extra weight, a fantastic piece of kit. Glad to see you are able to get out and enjoy the great weather while it lasts Chris!

You're right about the weight, I think it's most people gripe, but I think that's the price to pay for engineered quality.
Did you go for the accessories too?
You need to take that stove and mess kit to north America for a little trip.

Fantastic use of cooking space. It’s probably the best feature of the grill plate and Firebox (and I should do better using it).

Thanks very much for your kind words, your honest opinion and for watching. I've found this to be the best stove I have and I use it all the time so I get my money's worth ha ha. The cheaper twig stoves have all gone up in price. If I could choose only one it would be the firebox. Cheers for that. Chris.
Great Video. Was it easy to make the scrambled eggs, in a mess tin, compared to a pan? When I was in the forces, I hated cleaning the mess tins, after use.
Hey there, it was very easy to make, cleaning was about the same. At home I cook the eggs very slowly and they don't catch on the pan, but it takes about half an hour. Otherwise a higher heat and the pan is a pain to clean.
Out there with the firebox the heat was higher than at home, harder to regulate, so I did need to clean the mess tin with a bit more vigour. I would defo do it again no problem, I really enjoy cooking with them. Cheers for commenting and watching, Chris.

Slow cooked scrambled eggs are the best. The only thing missing was toast.
