I’m already in my 30s and have not experienced this lifestyle yet. My son’s only 3 so I plan on taking him outdoors when he becomes older. Once again, thank you for posting educational videos like this, Cpl. Kelly. I am learning a lot! And I really admire how you really love your son. What lessons you impart to me, I shall apply as a father to my son as well. Thank you, good sir, and greetings from California. I am happy that your channel have grown, and I am also glad that people from the Philippines (where I was born) are also watching your videos. I will recommend your channel to my family and friends here in Cali and in the Phils. Your channel and videos are definitely OUTSTANDING AF!

Saying, in public, that you are proud of your boy is HUGE! Many kids (my wife) grow to adulthood and have never heard that -- they go through life thinking that whatever they do is 'not good enough" - my dear lady is 71 and just starting to recover. More power to you, sir!! I take my hat off to you!

I miss goin camping with my Father. RIP...😢
I remember him teaching me how to draw the pocket knife to make shavings, etc...basic fire skills!
It was never in depth Bushcraft style but just basic camping...🏕️ However, being adopted as a Native American, he did spark my interest in the outdoors. Now as I sit in the woods in my own tiny cabin, with the wood stove burning, I thank God he was even there at all!!!
Some kids don't have the blessing of growing up with a REAL man as a Father, and I thank God everyday to be blessed to be the son of such a great man!!!🎉😂🎉
Anyways, it's good to see that there are still good Fathers out there giving their children the much needed skills of survival and working hard to achieve basic comforts...
Once you can do the hard work everyday....
Suddenly, life itself doesn't seem so difficult!!?😂🎉
Keep up the hard work of being a good example to your family and others around you!
You've taught me a lot as well Corporal!!!🎉🎉
This tiny cabin is warm AF when it gets goin!!!
I gotta crack the door a little sometimes!!🚪😂

I have enjoyed your videos for quite awhile now, and never have left a comment. I particularly like your encouragement in the last video to practice until you “own” the skill. Tell your boy I appreciate his work on the bow drill. I have told myself that is something I will never be able to do, but watching him get it done in three outings makes me change my mind. I also appreciate you mentioning your commission on the items purchased through the links on your influencer page. I have bought some items in the past, but did not have the smarts to use your link. I will in the future, because you deserve all of the commission that you make off of those purchases. Thanks for a great set of videos. And, you’re right: I wasn’t notified of your new video, but I look for you every week! I haven’t missed one for quite a while. Thanks for keeping up the good work. Be sure to thank your young man for encouraging me on trying out the bow drill.

If only all fathers can bond strongly with and be approachable by their children, just like you and your son, this world probably will see less and less societal problems of kids falling into drugs & alcohol abuse, bullying, crimes, etc. If the fathers can be good role models, their children don't have to go and find a role model somewhere else, which might be a bad one, influencing them into growing into bad people.
Being a good father is an extremely difficult task, especially these days, and I appreciate you for inspiring others to spend more time with their kids and teach them beneficial stuff. My son is 2 y.o. now, and I can't wait to do this kind of outing with him once he gets older. Thanks Corporal!

Love the channel. You and Survival Lilly are my "Goto" channels for bush-crafting. A technique I have not seen on either which I think would be worth sharing is the construction of "Gator Bags": Take a ziploc bag (any size) and cover it with layered strips of electrical/Gorilla/ 100 mph tape. Pay special attention to reinforcing the seams of the bag. Turns a throw away item into a cheap, durable dry bag. I've used this technique for 25+ years in the military. I have some Gator Bags that I've had for that entire time which I still use. Keep up the great work. De Oppresso Liber.

Watching this episode made me want to call my dad to go camping. He's a marine (83-91) 1/7. My father and My Grandfather were really great tutors. Not nearly as bushcrafty as you but they got the job done. It's nice to see a dad and his son bond like this and I'm sure it would be a time your son will never forget. The rain storm, the crickets, the crackling fire are all going to be little reminders of the love you have for him in years to come. I know that it serves as a reminder for me the love my dad has not only for me but for the outdoors. These skills will live on for generations in your family. Many people can think they can start a fire. Your boy did it. Thanks you for taking the time to video these kinds of videos.

It breaks my heart that you feel it necessary to apologize because some people ,who can’t do what you do, criticize you because they are not happy. I’m pretty much stuck at home. I am taking care of my elderly Dad. I enjoy your videos. You are doing what I enjoy doing. Please keep doing exactly what you are doing!
Thank You for all the videos!

Never give up, never surrender. Keep on keeping on. The mainstream is trying to squash you because you make them feel bad. You're an outstanding father. Teaching your son to rely on himself instead of depending on someone else to sustain him is what this world needs again. 👍👍🇺🇸
