DYI Sailing proa from a 17' Grumman canoe.

This is one of four built over the years. Some of my BEST sailing adventures where on boats like this sailing from Astoria to Hood river. Decked over and sealed between deck and hull makes for a craft that can take on heavy weather with very little water on board. Flotation bow and stern make the craft float if filled. But that never came close to reality. GOOD SAILING
