You made it harder for your self 😆 You blew up white ships and put them in the mothership, they are removed when they die 😉 around 40min you put a purple ship in a column with 2 spaces, you had to put it in a a row with most spaces. But happy you finally began playing this! Can recommend the campaign, really cool how it plays out and gives you more pieces to play with.
Hah, I was in a hurry and hoped I lucked out and didn't make any mistakes. Thanks for catching these! Thanks for the tip on the campaign, I had no idea it was so great. edit: 30:33 Oh my, I took out TWO clear ships - they should have been out of the game (and I KNOW this, I just royally messed up!) 40:08 purple should have gone in the middle! Other mistakes I have made in games past: when you move the mothership down due to a ship landing on a mothership space - you SKIP the mothership action! I have also been known to move my Excavator backwards for some bizarre reason.
Thanks for the upload bro. Been wanting to bring this to the table but couldn't find Roswell first playthrough. Going to play along with this video to understand some rules
I find it very straightforward yet somehow I end up making dumb little mistakes (like forgetting to pay 1 Energy to move the Excavator, or that you do NOT resolve the mothership icon when you for the ship to move). It's so easy to set up and get a play in at around 30 minutes, the game is great for solo players.
I had a very busy day but carved out a little time for his just because you mentioned it. 😁 According to another comment the campaign is worthwhile, so suddenly I am excited to check it out.
I've had this on my shelf for a while now meaning to get around to playing it. So many people say how great this is as a solo game, but somehow the perceived stress of the decisions of this game have stopped me from trying it. I'll hopefully still get to it some day. Thanks for the great demonstration, as always.
It's the GOOD kind of stress though! Time to break it out, it sets up, tears down, and plays quickly. These aliens will burn you down fast if you're not careful 😁 There is a short FAQ on BGG that hits the finer points (some that I still managed to mess up, for instance, those two clear ships at 30:33 should have been destroyed permanently instead of going back to the mothership! I knew the rule, I'm just an idiot, heh).
great game! a little quality of life tip: when you move the excavator to a new row you can make it face the direction its going so you dont mess it up :)
The strategy of Roswell is to run yer excavator as fast as possible to unlock the 3 in 1 research on the bottom row then slam research and take whatever hits you need to cuz the research track can be filled really fast. Each of the 3 starter cities have their own strategy. Once u find it you will win every time The campaign has a few more cool additions The orange ship, command rooms, portals, sideways rooms, and red explosion spots, satelites, and a few more.... Not to mention the human helpers and the actual mission cards that make it unique every time. After u open up all 4 u can customize a game that makes you happy All human cards make the game easier All the cities make it easier The mission cards make it harder but give yer game super flavor. Once u combine these the game shines!!! Im like you bro, i played the arcade a bunch till 3 days ago when i started the campaign. After reading the last page of the manual where it tells you to mix and match stuff i cant wait to keep going now. Im addicted! Not to mention the fast setup and teardown. The 3d printed organizer from etsy helps tremendously and the 3d printed ship with the led lights is freakin amazing too!!! The world needs you more than ever now lol !😂😂😂
Thank you! Wowww. This is enlightening. I really enjoy the gameplay but I never figured I would crack in to the campaign. All of these comments have been amazing and eye opening. Which is amazing, as apparently this incredible game is way better than I even thought.
@@CeePhour I was just like you homey. Game was good but when I cracked everything open it exploded in my face like a jack in the box lmfao! Everything is numbered and the 4 large sheets are pretty clear on what u need to use so dont worry about mixing things up. It's not hard to reorganize. The campaign is really hard if u choose at random how it suggests. I lost both chapter 2 missions even after I flipped the city tiles but keep on fighting through it, its worth it! This game is good for your brain too. Helps critical thinking skills. When I play the non campaign way I win every time usually 😜 u will too! U should do a campaign playthrough on youtube. I'd definately watch it. It's ok if u lose, it's the fight that counts! The fight is the prize! For sparta and glory!
I do remember seeing a printable UFO! I never bothered because I was worried about storage. I also haven't looked since I picked up the game 😬 I did recently pick up Imperium: Legends, but haven't looked at it yet. I'm excited to check it out. I heard the Horizons book is better to learn from, I will have to check it out.
Once you play the campaign it will blow yer mind the value of that box and the replayability it has. Etsy has an awesome box organizer too. After u crack it all open it will totally pay for itself.... you'll see lol 👍🏻😃
I am warning you! The next the you showcase a game I have decided that I don’t like, I will not watch your video! Now I will go to my local and buy a copy of this. Grrr. 😂
Haha! I literally lol'd 😁 If you need pushed over the edge, read the comments here from people with much more experience than I have with the game - they've sold me on playing the campaign! I planned on playing it once just because I needed something quick and "easy" (ha!) to play at the moment, but now I want to get into the campaign because of what I have learned from the comments.

@@CeePhour Me too :)

Oh sure, just go ahead and drop a quick and easy solution to my problem! 😆 This is a great idea, thanks!

Yes! Did you see the 3D printable UFO? Also do you have Imperium Classics/Legends? Would love to see you give that a go!
I do remember seeing a printable UFO! I never bothered because I was worried about storage. I have horizons preordered, but the others weren’t that difficult to grok

Oh wow, now I am intrigued! I figured I might never make the effort because the random game is pretty great. Thank you, this was very good to know.
