Jeff, thank you for great video. Did you had any issues with the fact that grill/opening on the knee panel is 4" wide and woofer is 6.5" ? Any vibrations of the dash ? Thanks
I’m getting ready to build my system. Is there a reason you didn’t use a full range speaker in the lower dash? I know in the factory configuration, they are for bass only. I’m going the ampPRO for pre outs and full system
so you had the factory alpine audio system and found it inadequate? would I be better off not having the alpine system and having an audio system installed aftermarket? how would I install a sub behind the seats? I'm over in GR.
The Alpine System is NOT BAD by any means. As a former Car Audio Guy, I just didn't feel that the factory system was good enough. Most people would be satisfied with Alpine system. If you are considering a full upgrade, to my understanding, it's actually easier to upgrade with the Alpine system to begin with. Stay tuned, full system upgrade coming soon. Hint Hint... JL Audio Stealthbox.
It's great abs all but you spent more time on talking about the products in both videos (the dash access was helpful) but it takes people 1 video to do an entire install including the dash access but now after 2 videos, it feels like you'll never get to putting them in until video 4 or 5. And I run a shop in NC. I just needed a quick video reference to show customers now that we are back to business post-COVID.
Mid-bass is definitely improved in my opinion. Real benefit will be once I add in the aftermarket amplifiers. I'm replacing everything with JL Audio, and will be installing their new Stealthbox, once it arrives.
Jeff Kashat Thanks. More mid-bass is what I’m look for. Just wanted to make sure that the mid-bass was a noticeable before going for it. Also, you wired them the up minus the crossovers right?
Have you installed the amps yet? OEM+ has a plug&play system but it’s $3000! I’d be willing to put in some work for a full JL system if it saved me $1000.
Man that is nuts just to reach two pods. Switching the 3.5 upper dash and sound bar versions is super easy
Good job man .... I have a Stereo Shop in South Mississippi and we do Tons of Jeeps, you did a Great Job
Thank you!
Thank you!

There is a bit of vibration/buzzing at high volumes. Nothing some sound deadened shouldn’t take care of.

I play on full active 3 way components, with individual amplifier channels for each speaker. Basically, a higher quality setup.
Hbk01 Z you’ll get much better sound out of component speakers over coaxials.
Jeff Kashat thank! I just wasn’t sure with the newer vehicles.

Nice gladiator. Are those 35s or 37s?
37's, no lift, yet!

Was the difference in sound worth the work?

Mechpg minus the crossover. Going to go full active with the JL Audio VX series amplifier.
