Government hands over free certificates of land ownership to residents in Obongi district

OBONGI- Residents of Palorinya Sub County in Obongi district have receive over 500 free customary certificates of land ownership and newly constructed Ndirindiri market give smile in the face of Obongi residents.
The new market, Resource centers and land titles were provided through USMID-AF security of tenure component under the Systematic land Adjudication and certification project implemented by the ministry of land, Housing and Urban development.
The exercise that was presided over by the minister of state for lands, housing and urban development Kania Obiga as the guest of honor was held at Palorinya Sub County headquarters.
Obiga cited that this is intended to provide land tenure security and revive land rights for landlords and urged them to guard their titles, desist from land fragmentation and also stay away from selling their land to people.
