    from my understanding, doesnt salt interfere with the yeast ?

    • @kolive81
      @kolive81 9 ปีที่แล้ว

      +the-exo-sphere yes and no. salt slows down the yeast but both salt and sugar are needed in most yeast breads. of course, most breads taste better with salt so there's that, too.

    Does the salt kill the yeast at all? I read somewhere that it's better to add the salt after the yeast has activated.

    • @1301johanna
      @1301johanna 9 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      +levi f Same thing with oil. Doesnt kill it but, oil drops build up and the yeast cannot activate correctly.

    hey - Ive been making pizzas myself for some years. I dont make it with oil though, tend to stick to neopolitan massas. you don't think this method you show would be incompatible with a "4 ingredient" massa (warm water, flour, salt, and yeast)?

    Pizza is one the most beloved foods ever! There's a variety of dough types for everybody, so many regional styles, and the toppings are limitless! Personally, I like mine with salami, pepperoni, Italian sausage, extra mushrooms, extra cheese, crushed tomato sauce, ham, bacon, pineapple, beef, and pork! The dough itself should be lathered with melted butter, roasted garlic, oregano, and Parmesan cheese. Once the pizza finishes baking, the same buttery, aromatic spread gets brushed on the crust with extra Parmesan and oregano being sprinkled onto the entire pizza with even coverage on every single side. Yes, it'll come out greasy, but it's pizza for crying out loud! I've combined every single pizza I've ever tried and loved into one monster pizza and I regret nothing! On the bright side, the crust is crunchy and the pizza takes in all of the awesome flavor. I kinda modeled my recipe after Pizza Hut's new recipes and used a pizza I ordered one day as an example. It came out amazing!

    So I know you're probably busy with pizza week, but do you happen to have a good recipe for English muffins? I've tried several and I've been getting inconsistent results (particularly with what type of flour to use or if it's better to use the oven or stove top method)

    This looks soooo good, Byron. Your videos are the best, and the recipes are always easy to follow. For another pizza video, maybe go as simple as cheese, but with a twist? I would love to see an interesting mix of cheeses and your personal take on it. You can never go wrong with cheese, in my opinion. Have a great week :)
