Could you have a "sauce/dip" week? Where you go through making fresh, homemade sauces/dips (i.e. Ketchup, mayonnaise, mustard, etc). I'd love to make my own so I know what's in it and I know that's right up your alley😊
I'll take a 7:30 min video from Byron rather than watching crappy reality shows on the food network any day. Keep on making awesome videos and kickass recipes.
That's awesome! gotta give credit where credit is due and you are so much fun to watch. I'm actually starting culinary school in 3 days and am nervous, but getting to see you create these recipes from start to finish inspires me to do the same thing.
I used to come on TH-cam to watch random crap. Now I come to TH-cam to watch your videos. I don't even like watching other cooking videos because yours are so simple and straight forward. Keep up the good work!! Your cooking channel is my favorite!
i love how you actually taste the foods. most youtubers who cook/bake, dont taste their foods. it gives people an idea to see if they are going to like it or not. of course people have different taste buds, but its still really convienient and awesome to do that! keep doing what you are doing! your foods look amazing!!
I always love putting in that extra little bit of work. It always makes any dish just a bit better. Wether it's making the dish look good, or taking the long wholesome way with the prep. It always makes me feel good afterwards.
Maybe if you piped out a long strand of the potato mixture with a piping bag and a round nozzle you could then cut the strand into individual tater tots with a knife? I dunno if that would work, but could be a time saver.
TheRealAnita Can also be done with the extrusion attachment on a kitchenAid or hand-mill, for larger batches. What's also fun is to stuff them with cheese.
I discovered your channel just a while ago and I can't stop watching your videos! Oh my God you're so incredibly talented and I'm just over here drooling lol. Will definitely be trying many of your recipes as they're easy to make and extremely DELICIOUS! Thank you for posting and sharing with us your work!
I'm a fairly new subscriber, I can't recall which recipe search I did that led me to your page, but I'm so glad for it! Love, love, love, the use of fresh ingredients, the creativity, and above all, baking/cooking from scratch. I love tater tots, too,so this video was a special treat for me. Happy Friday, everyone!
Byron, Great Recipe! Do Tater Tots can be store in freezer for making bunch and use them (fry or over)? How long can they be kept in freezer? is there way to make them last longer? (since i notice using fresh herbs during the process) Thank You
Hi Byron, if you make heaps and want to freeze them is it better to freeze them before frying or fry them first and then freeze them so you just have to heat them up later?? Thank you and they look so delicious!
Hi Byron, really appreciate your recipes and its inspiring :) I have a question, can we roast these in the oven instead of frying them in the oil? Looking at a healthier version :P
I need to make a big batch of these for the guys at our hunting camp on one of my weekends at chow duty. Making them ahead will be key….. what would be the best way to freeze and store them to stock up until I have enough?
This seems so simple! Thanks byron! :) I had a question - what if we dip and roll around the potato cubes/whatever-shape in the flour instead of sprinkling and risking sides being left out? Thanks in advance for your reply :)
Classic kid food, but I'd go for some spicy mayo instead of ketchup to mix things up. All in all, one of my favorite potato recipes of all times! Great job Byron!
Hi, I just had a quick question about these tots! They look delicious, but they are time consuming, do you think they would freeze well? I often make meals in advance for time saving, or simply cook too much, so just wondered! :)
These look so delicious! Your food videos are my absolute favorite on youtube & the quality of your production is amazing. Would you mind telling me what lens you use? I've bought a few and none give the quality as good as yours!! I've been trying to figure it out for awhile now haha
You're way too nice!! My channel is definitely a work in progress, but I really appreciate the compliment. I use a canon 6D and switch between the Canon L 50mm 1.2 prime and Canon L 100mm macro lenses. Hope this helps and thanks for watching!!
VasseurBeauty Quality lighting (natural or artificial) also makes an enormous difference in image/video quality... whether you use a $1500 50mm f/1.2L, or a $400 50mm f/1.4.
Elamdri Believe it or not, the salt actually pulls moisture from the skin/meat of the potato and yields a really fluffy/dry interior. If the interior (meat) of the potato has a lot of moisture after it's done baking it can affect the results of the given recipe... Just food for thought.
Basically what he explained has a scientific explanation, its called osmosis. As the salt concentration increases in its environment, the potato will release more water to compensate the high solute concentration.
Use a chocolate truffle mould. dust then with flour then spread the potato mixture. scrape off extra and demould. u can make many at once. shape will be uniform
What is the timber of your kitchen? It's really so warm and lovely. Would like it in my own kitchen. I'm looking at a new kitchen and that timber is just gorgeous.
could you go on with nerddy nummies? That would be soooo cool. maybe show each other something that you made from scratch and do a "how to"? Just an Idea. I subscribed! You are the next best (male) pastries chef!
You should do a video on your take on fried rice! It's a bit random but I haven't found any decent fried rice recipes on TH-cam. Just an idea I thought I'd share 😊
These look good but nothing can beat the ones from the store. It is the factory process that can make those perfect little pillows of greasy goodness. The problem with making tots at home is that they are always too smooth. You simply can't replicate that shaggy, craggily exterior.
Omg it's so easy. I eat it almost every week! Just take some pizza sauce or any marinara sauce and put it on the bagel. Add some mozzarella and pepperoni or any topping of your choice and bake it in the oven until the bottom is crispy. It's so good!!
I must admit that I never thought of making homemade tater tots. Now I have to try them. I am sure they are much tastier than frozen ones because you can put anything you want into the mixture. Thanks Byron. Glad you are back with us.
Bryon you should make some different potato dipping sauces. Like an herb mayo or a Thai chili tomato ketchup or a curry mustard. I'd love to have these in my recipes book, I've got the ideas but just can not put together a recipe very well
Cucumber Salad i was meaning the one below it saying the word bi+ch .....i don't eat fried foods because it's bad for you. Really i like steaming but i will bake too. :)
I watched this before and book marked it, think I will try these real soon. Byron your the man love you dude, anyone that loves ketchup in my book is great. Thanks much.
YAY, I loved these when I was little but they weren't homemade!!! This is Def going to be a Stable at our table!!! Thanks Byron, God bless u and ur family💜👍
This looks Devine! Although, I never understood why people like to wrap their potatoes in foil. IMHO they come out looking wet and leathery and not so much fluffy. Great vid though! Thanks for sharing.
minus all the seasonings (since i've not had them that way, LoL) im so excited to try these! probably a lot better for me and my family too then that already made stuff, good job Byron!! can't wait to try.. Rachel probably enjoys being your taste tester too, LoL pretty soon Oliver will too!!
My grandma, my mon , my aunt never use a thermometer to check how hot the oil and their dishes just turned out great each and every time. Me, uses all kinds of gadgets just to make one dish.
Very nicely done mate! I normally just go to the store in the frozen and get a huge bag. Most times i toss them in the oven lol because im always busy so dont have much time to fry... U did an awesome job man!
I'll totally have to give these a go! Thanks for the video! Can you make one on homemade pizza? Pizza girl at heart but haven't quite mastered the dough!
Could you have a "sauce/dip" week? Where you go through making fresh, homemade sauces/dips (i.e. Ketchup, mayonnaise, mustard, etc). I'd love to make my own so I know what's in it and I know that's right up your alley😊
What a great, awesome, incredible, fantastical idea!! #SauceWeek has to happen..
LOL the face he's making when he's flouring the potatoes...that's the face of an artist at work
Or someone who is way too concentrated on my making tater tots...😉
Exactly :) You should see some sculptural artist demos, they all do this!
hahaha I went back to rewatch after reading your comment, so funny!! :))
I'll take a 7:30 min video from Byron rather than watching crappy reality shows on the food network any day. Keep on making awesome videos and kickass recipes.
Dang!!! This comment just made my friggin DAY!! Thanks for watching and I'll try to keep up the posts. You're awesome!!!
That's awesome! gotta give credit where credit is due and you are so much fun to watch. I'm actually starting culinary school in 3 days and am nervous, but getting to see you create these recipes from start to finish inspires me to do the same thing.
The whole time: DONT SCRATCH YOUR HAND ON THE GRATER!!!
***** HAHAH yeah i was scared for him lol
Happened to me before, but with those sharper graters for zests. Peeled off a thick piece of my skin. 0.0
Allyson Marie ouch!
I was worried too.. he grated it sooo close :3
Added flavor and protein, if he cuts himself.
I never knew how to make tater tots from scratch. Thanks for sharing Byron!
I used to come on TH-cam to watch random crap. Now I come to TH-cam to watch your videos. I don't even like watching other cooking videos because yours are so simple and straight forward. Keep up the good work!! Your cooking channel is my favorite!

Why do you put such a intense face on while placing the potatoes on the spider?
xtaylorxboyx My concentration comes out in weird forms sometimes.. LOL!
Why do you give a shit about the faces he makes? Fucking troll.
Jonathan Arnold i was asking not trolling.. pls..
+Jonathan Arnold Rude.
he's in his element
Your tasting part is always so so good and really want me to cook your dishes ... #perfect !! Eric
dang, can't believe you pressed those all!
Benjiiiii just finished watching the vlog
+Benji Travis HHHNNNNNNNNNG!!!
I would have used a pastry bag and pipe out the pillows
Can you make a video on growing your own herb garden .... THE HOW TO's especially when in an apartment.. Thank You
Maybe if you piped out a long strand of the potato mixture with a piping bag and a round nozzle you could then cut the strand into individual tater tots with a knife? I dunno if that would work, but could be a time saver.
TheRealAnita I think that sounds like it would work....and save time shaping each one individually! Thanks for the idea!
That sounds like a GREAT idea!
TheRealAnita Can also be done with the extrusion attachment on a kitchenAid or hand-mill, for larger batches. What's also fun is to stuff them with cheese.

Happy Friday, everyone!
Welcome to my little foodie family!!! Thanks for the sub and I'll try to keep up the delicious recipes! Any requests??
oh my gosh my favorite part is at the end when you taste the food, i could literally feel the food in my mouth!!!!!
Love all your videos could you do a series of fresh healthy summer must haves
Byron what is the difference of baking with with skin on and peeling after as opposed to peeling them raw and baking them?
Byron, Great Recipe!
Do Tater Tots can be store in freezer for making bunch and use them (fry or over)?
How long can they be kept in freezer?
is there way to make them last longer? (since i notice using fresh herbs during the process)
Thank You
I love that you cook so Calm and soft no fast Stressed moves it's Really relaxing :D
Hi Byron, if you make heaps and want to freeze them is it better to freeze them before frying or fry them first and then freeze them so you just have to heat them up later?? Thank you and they look so delicious!
I LOVE how much food you end up frying! I could watch you fry things forever lol
Hi Byron, really appreciate your recipes and its inspiring :)
I have a question, can we roast these in the oven instead of frying them in the oil? Looking at a healthier version :P
LOVE your video quality! these look so delicious!
These look amazing! Byron, if you were to bake these what temperature and the amount of time would you bake them for?
Video on creating chopped salad with couscous, corn, and smoked salmon, etc.?!
Watching these videos is honestly therapeutic
Would have never thought to add herbs. Beautifully done!
I need to make a big batch of these for the guys at our hunting camp on one of my weekends at chow duty. Making them ahead will be key….. what would be the best way to freeze and store them to stock up until I have enough?
I'd love to see an around the world series where you could feature popular dishes from all over the world. That and Asian week would be fantastic!
where did u get ur potatoes, mine looked very sad while yours look happy
His voice is so relaxing
I love these videos that are simple to make and user friendly!
I've been looking out for you! Thanks for being back Byron Talbot I enjoy every single of your recipes, u cook w a super finesse! Thanks again!
Are those bascially mini Hashbrowns? (I am from Europe so I don't know) :D But looks delicious !
minhimouse Yes, American's take on hashbrowns but made into a more compact and bite size feature..
I agree with what phang said, but we also have hashbrowns
In Switzerland these are called Kroketten and hashbrowns are called Rösti 😊 anyways... Everything with potatoes is delicious
Jennifer Heiz Stimmt, an Kroketten hab ich jetzt gar nicht gedacht! :D Danke!
Lol I've never though of them like that! But yes
This seems so simple! Thanks byron! :)
I had a question - what if we dip and roll around the potato cubes/whatever-shape in the flour instead of sprinkling and risking sides being left out?
Thanks in advance for your reply :)
Classic kid food, but I'd go for some spicy mayo instead of ketchup to mix things up. All in all, one of my favorite potato recipes of all times! Great job Byron!
Now I feel like making these right now (and it's currently 2:33am).
Can't wait to try this recipe. I LOVE tater tots
Hi, I just had a quick question about these tots! They look delicious, but they are time consuming, do you think they would freeze well? I often make meals in advance for time saving, or simply cook too much, so just wondered! :)

thank you so much for responding! I really appreciate it.
VasseurBeauty that's not really him.
VasseurBeauty Quality lighting (natural or artificial) also makes an enormous difference in image/video quality... whether you use a $1500 50mm f/1.2L, or a $400 50mm f/1.4.
What did you do with the oil?
I don't get the point of salting the potatoes and then skinning them. Why not just salt the flaked potato?
My guess is that it adds a deeper salt flavour to the potato
Elamdri Believe it or not, the salt actually pulls moisture from the skin/meat of the potato and yields a really fluffy/dry interior. If the interior (meat) of the potato has a lot of moisture after it's done baking it can affect the results of the given recipe... Just food for thought.
ByronTalbott Thank you for explaining that! It's one of those random things I've always wondered but never bothered to look up or ask lol.
Basically what he explained has a scientific explanation, its called osmosis. As the salt concentration increases in its environment, the potato will release more water to compensate the high solute concentration.
I know right
Would you do a week where you make foreign food like Indian food, etc
Instead of baking the potato, can I steam it? I really want to make this, but I don't have any oven/microwave.
Use a chocolate truffle mould. dust then with flour then spread the potato mixture. scrape off extra and demould. u can make many at once. shape will be uniform
Made these today- I recommend putting Parmesan or garlic (or both) on them.
pocketstash OMG that's genius!
Mr. Talbott, would you please consider making a random video this summer showing us how to make watermelon lemonade? Please.
Watermelon lemonade sounds refreshing as heck.
I'm totally going to make these. Instead of molding them I think I'll use a pastry bag and chop them off as I squeeze them out. Easy peasy.
Was curious... does salting the potatoes before you bake them draw moisture from them or flavor them? Does it assist the baking process?
First video I ever watched in this channel and the first ten seconds I was like I think I'm gonna enjoy this channel!
What is the timber of your kitchen? It's really so warm and lovely. Would like it in my own kitchen. I'm looking at a new kitchen and that timber is just gorgeous.

allyssa wall Brilliant!
ByronTalbott thank you
That'd be sooo cool
great recipe, looks delish! i think i'll lightly sift the flour and spread out the shredded potatoes then use the small shape cutter!
The perfect cafeteria food x3! I loved getting these in elementary and middle school.
Ugh I'm drooling. I'm definitely making these.
How can people dislike an awesome video about making tater tots?!!
Do you make homemade ketchup too, or just use store bought?
You should do a video on your take on fried rice! It's a bit random but I haven't found any decent fried rice recipes on TH-cam. Just an idea I thought I'd share 😊
I love this recipe idea ♡ will definitely try it .. thank you & wish you all the best
Which potato slicer machine you use in this video and potatoes shaping ring also
These look good but nothing can beat the ones from the store. It is the factory process that can make those perfect little pillows of greasy goodness. The problem with making tots at home is that they are always too smooth. You simply can't replicate that shaggy, craggily exterior.
can you pleaseee do pizza bagels !!!
please!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Omg it's so easy. I eat it almost every week! Just take some pizza sauce or any marinara sauce and put it on the bagel. Add some mozzarella and pepperoni or any topping of your choice and bake it in the oven until the bottom is crispy. It's so good!!
***** Stoner bachelor food. What next?

HSMK
these are so kid friendly i love it.
I must admit that I never thought of making homemade tater tots. Now I have to try them. I am sure they are much tastier than frozen ones because you can put anything you want into the mixture. Thanks Byron. Glad you are back with us.
Can you do a video on stuffed crust pizza. Preferably cheese in the crust. And spinach leaves as one of the toppings. Please and thank you.
I've been searching for a marble tuxedo truffle mousse cake video. could you be able to make a how to video?
Can you freeze them after dusting with all purpose flour and then fry for later use?
Beautiful recipe! Love your cylinder mold to make them! 💞
could you do a strawberry cheesecake recipe? i cant find a good recipe anywhere, and its my mothers favorite!
Bryon you should make some different potato dipping sauces. Like an herb mayo or a Thai chili tomato ketchup or a curry mustard. I'd love to have these in my recipes book, I've got the ideas but just can not put together a recipe very well
Hi Byron, could you please show us how to make a healthy burrito bowl? Pref a vegetarian one if possible? Thank you!! :)
Omg you got so close to the grater. I have to leave like an inch at least. I waste a lot of food but i do have an attachment to all my fingers.
hi Byron, I don't think you have a video for this but can you please show us how to make a proper buttercream?
This is so easy. I am so gonna try this! Thanks for sharing this recipe Byron. Have a nice day ahead 👍🏻
Caramel swirl muffins please!! Yum I'm for sure going to try this recipe
can I use ghee instead of butter?
Is there a way to bake instead of fry? I don't eat fried foods lol
Was just going to ask the same thing. I quit fried anything months ago. I miss tater tots!
Y?
Catherine Bezy he's asking why you don't eat fried food lol
Cucumber Salad i was meaning the one below it saying the word bi+ch .....i don't eat fried foods because it's bad for you. Really i like steaming but i will bake too. :)
Catherine Bezy On what planet would steaming tater tots yield crispy tater tots?
tader totes are like my favorite food ever but I never thought of making them my self I have got to try this.
Just curious, why do you salt the potato before baking?
Byron! I saw your Bank of America commercial and got all excited like "omg I know this guy! I watch him make food!"
They look fabulous
Can you please make a video on a quick mothers day breakfast. I need ideas pleasse!!! :D

YAY, I loved these when I was little but they weren't homemade!!! This is Def going to be a Stable at our table!!! Thanks Byron, God bless u and ur family💜👍
A piping bag work wonders for shaping them. Well, a plastic bag with a corner clipped, really.
Wow.... I am studying Meal Management, i may try this in my practical exam... Coz this recipe is quite easy and looks very tempting ....thx =)
Can I use vegetable oil instead of canola oil ?
Why not use potato starch instead of all purpose flour for dusting?
This looks Devine! Although, I never understood why people like to wrap their potatoes in foil. IMHO they come out looking wet and leathery and not so much fluffy. Great vid though! Thanks for sharing.
minus all the seasonings (since i've not had them that way, LoL) im so excited to try these! probably a lot better for me and my family too then that already made stuff, good job Byron!! can't wait to try.. Rachel probably enjoys being your taste tester too, LoL pretty soon Oliver will too!!
Too easy! Definitely making these for breakfast tomorrow.
My grandma, my mon , my aunt never use a thermometer to check how hot the oil and their dishes just turned out great each and every time. Me, uses all kinds of gadgets just to make one dish.
your beard is on point today
Very nicely done mate! I normally just go to the store in the frozen and get a huge bag. Most times i toss them in the oven lol because im always busy so dont have much time to fry... U did an awesome job man!
I love that grater! Really nice and simple recipe. Will try it!
I'll totally have to give these a go! Thanks for the video! Can you make one on homemade pizza? Pizza girl at heart but haven't quite mastered the dough!
