    Could you have a "sauce/dip" week? Where you go through making fresh, homemade sauces/dips (i.e. Ketchup, mayonnaise, mustard, etc). I'd love to make my own so I know what's in it and I know that's right up your alley😊

    i love how you actually taste the foods. most youtubers who cook/bake, dont taste their foods. it gives people an idea to see if they are going to like it or not. of course people have different taste buds, but its still really convienient and awesome to do that! keep doing what you are doing! your foods look amazing!!

    I always love putting in that extra little bit of work. It always makes any dish just a bit better. Wether it's making the dish look good, or taking the long wholesome way with the prep. It always makes me feel good afterwards.

    Maybe if you piped out a long strand of the potato mixture with a piping bag and a round nozzle you could then cut the strand into individual tater tots with a knife? I dunno if that would work, but could be a time saver.

    What did you do with the oil?

  • @Elamdri
    @Elamdri 9 ปีที่แล้ว +95

    I don't get the point of salting the potatoes and then skinning them. Why not just salt the flaked potato?

    • @claireiskewl
      @claireiskewl 9 ปีที่แล้ว +7

      My guess is that it adds a deeper salt flavour to the potato

    • @ByronTalbott
      @ByronTalbott  9 ปีที่แล้ว +368

      Elamdri Believe it or not, the salt actually pulls moisture from the skin/meat of the potato and yields a really fluffy/dry interior. If the interior (meat) of the potato has a lot of moisture after it's done baking it can affect the results of the given recipe... Just food for thought.

    • @ThereseMarieCordero
      @ThereseMarieCordero 9 ปีที่แล้ว +65

      Basically what he explained has a scientific explanation, its called osmosis. As the salt concentration increases in its environment, the potato will release more water to compensate the high solute concentration.

    This looks Devine! Although, I never understood why people like to wrap their potatoes in foil. IMHO they come out looking wet and leathery and not so much fluffy. Great vid though! Thanks for sharing.
