He sings good, beautiful vocals. But compared to the brother ... Not as exceptionnal.
I actually thought about it. Noel feels more like a good pop singer. While rock'n'roll just fits Liam better.

Maybe, but it depends on who you ask.
There are plenty of people that pretty much spent their lives listening to Oasis, the Beatles and other classic uk rock'n'roll bands. In their point of view Noel's gone too far in experimentation by changin his guitar tone, using a drum loop or a synth patch sound more reminiscent of disco/dance music perhaps than the usual rock/britpop-esque stuff.
Just listen to anything he's released between 2017-2020 and then compare it, for example, to his s/t solo-debut from 2011. There's a certain "evolution" audible there, although it's a matter of an opinion whether that's surprising or not.

As it goes, we all get older and after decades the guy is just doesnt have the voice we all know and love, no ones fault really, happens to most rockstars unless your Justin Hawkins and take great care of the old vocal chords into old age! At this point, its Noels voice that is the "old familiar friend" to me. Cheers Justin! Enjoyed following along with you, thought it was pretty meh until your enthusiasm got me. "Pretty Boy" was dire, but this is a suprise. He's definitely got a knack for getting nice stuff out of the same old chords. It doesn't matter how much money, fame or controversy he has, it all still boils down to humbly sitting with that plank of wood with strings and crafting, using the raw talent he's had as a kid learning Beatles tunes in his bedroom - there's something really endearing about that! I had the exact same "Pink Floyd" thought as you for the Cminor to FsharpMaj verse chords, it's almost the same as "Breathe". Also the tracklist for the album includes World That's Been And Gone + Get There In The End, which were by far his most enjoyable output over the last few years, along with the string sessions he's posted, gives me hope.

Here's to returning in 2026 to see how well this video did, how Justin has taken over the world with a massively popular TH-cam channel, and the world is in a much better place!
Fingers crossed for it all, especially that last bit.....Cheers! 🤞😅🤞

It's a good song with a soaring sound. Appropriate for a band called High Flying Birds. And Noel's voice is a beautiful voice. I understand why many people say he's bland compared to Liam.... but who isn't? Noel hits those high notes with an airy timbre.... that really only he can do.

I quite like a lot of NG’s solo songs like what a life, heat of the moment, if I had a gun etc but they were quite a while ago.

Got to agree. Would sound epic with Liam singing, much the same as the 1st High Flying birds album. Which was basically the next Oasis album before the split.

Found this song because of this video. Saw him in Arkansas opening for the Pumpkins. I dig his voice to Liam’s. His earnest way of conveying the lyrics he wrote resonates a bit more w me.

I was about to say before you said it....Really reminded me of a pink floyd track with some of the chord choices and the production (and especially that lovely hammond sitting under the chords). Totally agree about Liam singing this too, would have been the secret sauce but regardless, his best song in years! Great review as always Mr Hawkins, may you ride again.

Great video Justin! You always seem so incredibly natural and candid on camera, having just started a TH-cam channel I’ve realised this is a skill that takes some time too achieve at least for me lol. Any advice ?

In terms of songs of which it reminds you, the pre-chorus chords remind a lot of the pre-chorus in the Bee Gee's 'Run To Me'.
