Ah! This official version has landed on TH-cam! Fantastic! I tried to make my own music video to this song with all my favourite Western clips but TH-cam wasn't having it! My favourite Bob Dylan track, legend!
Never became a major fan of Bob Dylan tell this year and I'm 61 now and looking back that has lyrics he is really one of the best songwriters I ever heard
You're not wrong, and I agree with you, but this song came out nearly twenty years ago... Twenty years after Blowin' in the Wind, Dylan was singing Jokerman. The man has been around forever. And he is immortal.
@ yes I know - I bought Infidels when it came out in the 80’s..I should have been more specific.. he,he,he.. I was referring to his more recent stuff - When the Deal Goes Down - Key West .. etc. Don’t worry I’m the biggest Bob fan ever. All the best buddy.
Such a deeply amazing song and Bob's voice just reverberates in the chest! This song gives me so much hope because it is doesn't get more real than this! But unlike it says I would never worry about slaying any enemy because I just need to stand in the armor of Ephesians 6 and trust that things come out alright at the end. King Saul went after David like a dog after a bone to kill him but when David came across Saul and all his army slumbering he could have slayed them all but he left it all up to God, Who's love and wisdom are unmatched and cannot be rivaled. This song makes me think of that and so much more! The feelings and thoughts in this song are so poetically honest! Thank you Bob Dylan! ❤ God Bless you always and in all ways! I pray for you every day brother! 🙌
Oh my God is so awesome to give the world a magnificent gift like you Bob. I love the way you look at the world and put it to music. Lyrics are your attribute. Love you Bob

Heart burning, still yearning Some day you'll be glad to have me around. They will crush you with wealth and power Every waking moment you could crack I'll make the most of one last extra hour I'll revenge my father's death then I'll step back Ain't talking, just walking Hand me down my walking cane. Heart burning, still yearning Got to get you out of my miserable brain. All my loyal and my much-loved companions They approve of me and share my code I practice a faith that's been long abandoned Ain't no altars on this long and lonesome road Ain't talking, just walking My mule is sick, my horse is blind. Heart burning, still yearning Thinking about that girl I left behind. Well, it's bright in the heavens and the wheels are flying Fame and honor never seem to fade The fire gone out but the light is never dying Who says I can't get heavenly aid? Ain't talking, just walking Carrying a dead man's shield Heart burning, still yearning Walking with an ache in my heel The suffering is unending Every nook and cranny has its tears I'm not playing, I'm not pretending I'm not nursing any superfluous fears Ain't talking, just walking Walking ever since the other night. Heart burning, still yearning Walking until I'm clean out of sight. As I walked out in the mystic garden On a hot summer day, a hot summer lawn Excuse me, ma'am, I beg your pardon There's no one here, the gardener is gone Ain't talking, just walking Up the road, around the bend. I assume from its lyrics that this dark song is about unrequited 'love', if something so sublime is possible to the multi-millionaire, drug-addled, hobo-prophet of nihilism, Robert Zimmerman. His loyal fans seldom question any of his puerile assumptions about life. Instead, they have made him into one of the richest men in America.
I am interested in your comment and would like for you to expand on it. What, in the lyrics, makes you think it's about unrequited 'love'? Why the quote marks when the prodosis sufficiently performs that function? What are some examples of nihilism in his works? What are some of his puerile assumptions about life? I find your last sentence troubling. If Bob Dylan's fans "made" him a rich man, then people "made" Henry Ford rich by buying his cars, they made Stephen King rich by buying his books, Steven Spielberg rich by going to his movies, that shriveled turd that made Facebook because they use Facebook and so on. There's a passage in The Fountainhead where Howard Roark addresses the point you make, which is one of human agency. Your premise is that a man's capacity to survive is hostage to a collective will. I forget what Roark said, exactly, but the gist was that as long as he had something of value to offer SOME one, he was independent of the will of ANY one. If I were less lazy, I'd dig up the passage. Speaking of puerility, what is your age? There's something about your phrase-turning that sounds like something a very young person would come up with. Except for the gripe against making money, I might have written something like you did, when I was in my early twenties. I might even have written something as arrogant as "His loyal fans seldom question..." as if I knew all about his "loyal fans". I'm getting a "young conservative" vibe. Like, you recently read Closing of the American Mind. One thing I do like about your comment is that you hold love highly enough to call it "so sublime". An older person wouldn't feel it necessary to wave an ideal like a flag. Yeah, do you watch Michael Knowles or Matty Matt? Anyway, I would genuinely like to hear your arguments fleshed out, viz. Dylan.
This song is one of Dylan’s hidden gems.
Hard to believe it was written in 2006. Dylan, after all these years, was still able to write a masterpiece. He never lost it, he still got it.

The way the entire song is in a minor key until the last ringing chord, which is major... it makes it seem like there's a happy ending hidden in there somewhere. I like it.

Think “It felt out of place, my foot in his face but he should have stayed where his money was green”
The happy ending is Sweet Jane (See Cowboy Junkies) Covenant Woman

So do you understand it? Who’s song is it? I mean who is the subject. It is not Bob.
Chosen this 4 my funeral . It says everything as they "tear your mind away from contemplation " they wont tear mine mother
Bob you paint a picture of your words. Another story that keeps your attention. I love the way you work a story to awesome music. You are a lyrical master
Add this to the list of apocalyptic songs by the prophet
✔😃💞‼
For me, Ain't Talkin' is the best song Dylan has written in his latter years. Mississippi and Working Man's Blues aren't far behind, though.
Cross the Green Mountain and Girl from the Red River Shore are contenders too, I'd say.
This recording proves beyond doubt that Bob still has IT. LOVE you man X
First time I've heard this song...never disappointed by the words of Bob.
i love him too
Right in time...
Thank you sooo.much, BOB Dylan.❣
Bob Dylan: You're No Coward. Most Definitely a real man, and I hope many see that. This song shows it, straight from the heart. Victoria
I don't fully understand what it is he's facing, but he's doing it without even blinking. True conviction. A brave man indeed.
Wonderfull, Fantastic song!Greetengs from Spain!🎸🎼🎶🎶🎶🎶🎶🌟✨🪄🎩
one of Bobs many gems .excellent ✌️👍
He always has great song hidden for us
Ah! This official version has landed on TH-cam! Fantastic! I tried to make my own music video to this song with all my favourite Western clips but TH-cam wasn't having it!
My favourite Bob Dylan track, legend!
No words, no thoughts ... listened in such dead silence that the pin could hear itself drop ❤❤❤🙏🙏🙏
this is brilliant
Great Dylan song.❤
Never became a major fan of Bob Dylan tell this year and I'm 61 now and looking back that has lyrics he is really one of the best songwriters I ever heard
I think he's the greatest American artist of all times. No one can convince me otherwise.
...not one of the best...
SIMPLE THE BEST....
Just Awesome Bob ! Good to see that ole well spring of creativity is still overflowing today. Please keep punching man !
Love this man! Timeless!
Dylan ovvero il poeta del miele amaro che una volta provato non cambierai più.
This a badass song
Romantic song
Oh my God is so awesome to give the world a magnificent gift like you Bob. I love the way you look at the world and put it to music. Lyrics are your attribute. Love you Bob
Play, Psalms, 58, imprecatory, psalms. Yeah, I like that.
Beautiful
Hay Dios Gracias Bod por subirlo Años en espera, los Mejores saludos desde mi Republica Dominicana...
I tell you this: best Dylan albums are his last: Blood, Modern Times, Love and Theft.
And all the songs are stolen from someone else like on his first albums. Great artist nonetheless
@karolecampesine Picasso said,"a good artist borrows a great artist steals!"
"As I walked out in the mystic garden,
on a hot summer day, hot summer lawn.
Excuse me m'am,
I beg your pardon.
There's no one here, the gardener is gone..
Ain't talkin, just walkin
Up the road
around the bend.
Heart burnin,
still yearnin.
In the last outback
at the world's end."
Would like to read bob dylans biography.... he is 84 years now...he was always my idol....since i was 18 or 19 years old..
Chronicles by dylan a great read
The archetype inside every man.
Great song
MASTER KING
LYRICS:
As I walked out tonight in the mystic garden
The wounded flowers were dangling from the vine
I was passing by yon cool crystal fountain
Someone hit me from behind
Ain't talking, just walking
Through this weary world of woe
Heart burning, still yearning
No one on earth would ever know
They say prayer has the power to heal
So pray for me, mother
In the human heart an evil spirit can dwell
I am trying to love my neighbor and do good unto others
But oh, mother, things ain't going well
Ain't talking, just walking
I'll burn that bridge before you can cross
Heart burning, still yearning
There'll be no mercy for you once you've lost
Now I'm all worn down by weeping
My eyes are filled with tears, my lips are dry
If I catch my opponents ever sleeping
I'll just slaughter them where they lie
Ain't talking, just walking
Through the world mysterious and vague
Heart burning, still yearning
Walking through the cities of the plague.
Well, the whole world is filled with speculation
The whole wide world which people say is round
They will tear your mind away from contemplation
They will jump on your misfortune when you're down
Ain't talking, just walking
Eating hog eyed grease in a hog eyed town.
Heart burning, still yearning
Some day you'll be glad to have me around.
They will crush you with wealth and power
Every waking moment you could crack
I'll make the most of one last extra hour
I'll revenge my father's death then I'll step back
Ain't talking, just walking
Hand me down my walking cane.
Heart burning, still yearning
Got to get you out of my miserable brain.
All my loyal and my much-loved companions
They approve of me and share my code
I practice a faith that's been long abandoned
Ain't no altars on this long and lonesome road
Ain't talking, just walking
My mule is sick, my horse is blind.
Heart burning, still yearning
Thinking about that girl I left behind.
Well, it's bright in the heavens and the wheels are flying
Fame and honor never seem to fade
The fire gone out but the light is never dying
Who says I can't get heavenly aid?
Ain't talking, just walking
Carrying a dead man's shield
Heart burning, still yearning
Walking with an ache in my heel
The suffering is unending
Every nook and cranny has its tears
I'm not playing, I'm not pretending
I'm not nursing any superfluous fears
Ain't talking, just walking
Walking ever since the other night.
Heart burning, still yearning
Walking until I'm clean out of sight.
As I walked out in the mystic garden
On a hot summer day, a hot summer lawn
Excuse me, ma'am, I beg your pardon
There's no one here, the gardener is gone
Ain't talking, just walking
Up the road, around the bend.
Heart burning, still yearning
In the last outback at the world's end.
description contains the lyrics already, seems like it's the case for all the recent releases :)
@@AvnerSenderowicz Those lyrics are good enough to be posted twice, because "there are secrets in em that I can't disguise, and if I hurt your feelings, I apologize. I just came to you, because you're a friend of mine". (..haha. )
avenge and toothache
Just awesome 💜
Very uplifting. very uplifting.
Ahaha
What sticks out to me on this song is the line "the whole world is filled with speculation they will tear your mind away from contemplation". There seems to be a line in one of the Dylan songs for every situation in life we encounter. MASTERFUL. Even Buddha would have agreed with Bob on this one as he said that life is suffering.
"I’ll avenge my father’s death then I’ll step back. Walkin’ with a toothache in my heel" Dylan singing about Jesus with a aching heel who crushed satan the murderer of Adam (and us). This is a great and powerfull song. Actually a lot of Dylan's songs after the seventies are all about his Hero and the prince of darkness.
Ke voz tan rota y al mismo tiempo tan buena ❤

When people are pissn me off I think of this song
Not only that I swore among other prophetic visions I received I swore I saw a giant Gardner about 20 foot high sitting on stage as if following the concert tour from another dimension as if he chose Dylan as his favourite human being!
The perfect strut to this is Jim halperts impersonation of a smug bed bug when the chorus kicks every time in my head

As good as any of the metaphysical poets
Bob? Are you doing this? Someone else?
My horse is sick my mule is blind...ever since jokerman infidels we are given an epic leviathan unmatched by any other recording artist and maybe another song particularly brilliant as Dylan fulfills obligations to finish album for contractual reasons. Quite often unfortunately audiences don't realise genius and prefer other lesser mortals and once again he's lost people. Who says I can't get heavenly aid?

I remember then the children were small a boy got killed down the road underneath a bridge. Poor mum and so glad he was not mind.
Dylan.
Wow kiss for your horses
