well done, I liked that you had Mace not kill Palpatine and have him arrested in front of Anakin to show that Palpatine was lying about the Jedi taking over
It has been joked about numerous times with alternate theories such as this, but:
Mace: "He's too dangerous to be kept alive!"
Anakin: "Cut off his arms and legs then, so he can't run or shoot force lighting or wield a lightsaber"
Palpatine: "Sh*t!"

you're severly underestimating how strong this combo would be. Kit Fisto, Mace Windu and Anakin fighting together would beat darth sidious in less than a minute.
yeah especially because the only reason kit fisto died is because sidious did a force scream and stunned him

Alternative: Palpatine sees Anakin and Mace and goes willingly, knowing that is his own chance of surviving and that his plan has failed.

That would never happen, because Padme isn't Force sensitive, isn't afraid of losing someone she loves, frustrated with the Jedi Order, weak with controlling her emotions, etc. Palpatine wouldn't waste his time on someone not only useless to him, but also that he wouldn't be able to turn even if he did

Originally Anakin actually did go with Mace. If you look closely during the fight, there's a shot where you can see Palpatine is holding Anakin's lightsaber. That's because he force pulled it away from Anakin and wielded it instead of his own lightsaber but George Lucas changed it afterwards.
That makes sense considering when anakin told mace he should join then to confront palpatine, it seems like he says something else instead of no.
Lucas did a lot of rewrites like this in the last minute.

Its interesting how the jedi said fear is a path to the dark side, but they feared the possible results of attachment.
That's part of the reason why the Jedi had to fall alongside the sith to bring balance. Remember, when Luke rebuilt the order he allowed attachments. Luke let people marry etc. Attachment is only a bad thing when you can't let go such as anakin with padme when he thought she was going to die, if he didn't think that then he wouldn't have fallen as he actually fell due to his love for padme and fear of losing her

They mean fear as an emotion not as an action that would imply fear to certain people. They simply do not experience fear as an emotion when training padawans to not have an attachment.
I’d like to see a story where the Jedi Kyber crystal Vader bled saved his life. As the crystal resisted the power of the Dark Side its former owner tried to save Anakin from the darkness. I’d like to see a story where he succeeded and returned the Chosen One to the Light.

What if Palpatine surrendered to stand trial, and just went “this is just religious persecution. Yeah I’m a Sith, but that’s not a crime”
And then they can’t prove he’s been behind the separatists. Them being lead by a Sith Lord is just conjecture, and even if confirmed, it can’t be confirmed it’s Palpatine, as far as the senate knows.
I like this, rather than starting a fight Palpatine didn't resisted but just surrenders.
I have actually seen other what ifs that had Palpatine surrender and pretty much win in that fashion. If you are smart and cunning enough to take over and control the narrative, sometimes you can even talk your way out of serious accusations, even if the other side has proof.
Realistic villain would do such a thing, but I guess because of many cut scenes from revenge of the sith were politics. The designers of the movie clearly wanted more action over politics.
The obvious problem with this argument is that C-3P0 mentions in TROS that the Old Republic made it a crime to be a Sith, which is why protocol droids were programmed not to translate anything that was written in the Sith language. It's pretty dumb to believe that a religion that was fundamentally opposed to the existence of the Republic wouldn't be deemed a crime. Palpatine would've hung himself if he did that.

i like how you showed that mace arrested palpatine cus that was his intention. however, anakin is the chosen one so how come he didnt bring balance to the force? i believe if anakin went along with windu, he would've been angry at himself and sidious and use that anger to detain and or kill/arrest sidious while still remaining on the path of the light. anakin is so powerful that he can use his anger and harness it to his advantage as a jedi

Too some degree, maybe. He's extremely perceptive. And can read body language well. But Palpatine knew this.

If Anakin went with Windu to arrest Palpatine, Palpatine would probably not fight back, he owned half the senate and had several contigencies in place, there a good chance he wouldn't even be convicted, or that he would escape jail, or keep sending visions to anakin of his wife's demise prombting anakin to release him, or order the death of all jedi's through order 66 through access to a communications device.

The main reasons he turned were his fear for Padme's life and his distrust to the Jedi Council
Without her, one reason still remains, but the sight of him regretting killing Mace Windu even for a bit shows he doesn't hate the jedi enough.
It would be extremely hard for him to turn

Maul wasn't really found. He was a Dathmiri. His whole species is generally force sensitive. He was given by Talzin (his mother) to Sidious. Him being found by Yoda would have done little
qui gon would probably be alive and trained anakin which would result in anakin controlling his emotions much better
since jinn would not keep him in the dark about the knowledge of the force and would even allow him to study jedi archives
nor would he ask him to ignore his emotions . he would be a true father figure to anakin instead of palpatine installing himself in that role over the years .
maul himself would change little though , he was never strong enough to fight top level jedi/sith like yoda , windu , anakin or sidious
and as a jedi he would probably be even (slightly) weaker than his sith self .
he would be a good addition to the jedi ranks though and may even be friends with obi-wan .

What if Grievous escaped Utapau for Mustafar and then Anakin tried to kill Grievous and the other separatists and then Grievous and Obi-wan team up to fight Anakin on Mustafar?
if this happened, Anakin will see for himself that Palpatine is a Sith Lord. and arresting him will be a big win for the Jedi. Even if Order 66 is activated, the whole galaxy will stand up against troopers and i dont think the clone troopers will shoot innocent lives who are willing to protect the Jedi.

If Anakin was allowed to go with Mace Windu to arrest Palpatine why is he trying to get in Windu's way in the fight? This is so confusing. He knows Palpatine won't give up without a fight, and whatever must happen, happens.
He still doesn't want Windu to kill him, both for the selfish reason of potentially being able to save Padme and for the fact that he doesn't want it to look to the public like the Jedi are trying to take over, which is one of the many many lies the Jedi wouldn't be able to dispell among the public if Palpatine died

I think Anakin witnessing the killing of his fellow Jedi right in front of him; these are Jedi he bonded with through the clones wars, might have made him switch gears, to at the very least perform a Dooku like disarming of Sidious to have him arrested, no hands, no lightening.....it would be over as soon as that happened. And one of Sidious primary weapons he always used is nullified for good.
He could have also force grabbed one of the dead Jedi lightsabers, now Sidious has to deal with 3 lightsabers strikes coming in at the same time, also he doesn't want to make a kill shot on Anakin, his options are super low by then to get out intact.
Here is a what if: What if Anakin mastered both the lightside and darkside. A true jedi should master both sides. The chosen gray Jedi.
This isn't the least bit realistic, because Force doesn't work in the yin yang dynamic like ppl think. The Light Side is the natural state of balance. The Dark Side pulls an individual outside of that balance. The more someone immerses themselves into it, the more it corrupts them and draws them further out of balance. It is for this reason that Yoda told Luke that it will dominate a person's destiny once they go down that path.

How Windu bested Sidious was his form it's a dark variation. Stance highly aggressive and allows him to tap into a darker part of him is why the scream didn't work on Windu

I liked how Kit Fisto dies first in this scenario, now don't get me wrong I love Fisto, but Kolar and Tiin have a sinilar reputation and were as strong or propably stronger sidious just went for them first. We'll never know who the superior of those three jedis is but it would he foolish to say Fisto was superior to the others or vise versa

Eh, not really. Palpatine really was pulling all the strings. Without him, the Republic (or new formed empire) has no chance against the jedi. And the clones would never receive order 66, because Palpatine is now detained and stripped of all Chancellor powers.

I believe with this Luke and Leia would have been perhaps a bit irrelevant to the galaxy anymore. They would not have met Han or Chewbacca until later later time assuming this happened.
