Spells Only is a challenge account in Genshin Impact where we only use characters that wield catalysts. Our initial goal was to get 36 stars in the Spiral Abyss with this challenge in place. This abyss rotation is being called one of the hardest by a lot of the playerbase... So I set out to try and make it our first 36 star clear on the account...

It was from lvl 7 to lvl 8. So it was a very small change, but obviously we needed every single extra stat we could get

You do NOT get enough props for your editing. That montage had me in TEARS. (Specifically the "We'll need a miracle" "allow me to lend my assistance" part especially.)
Similarly every time you do one of your "Material gathering montages to music" I'm ALWAYS excited.

I'm rewatching Spells Only (for the third time cause this is my favorite series) and yesterday watched an episode where Klee was the only one built/invested character and the rest of the team was with 0 level random artifacts and Java was farming artifacts for Klee. And today Java got 36 stars in the abyss🎉 This growth feels very inspiring and wholesome💜 Actually, this inspiring feeling of growth in a combo with Java's sarcastic nature are the main reasons why I adore all Java's challenge accounts. After watching an episode I'm always feeling like I can walk through my own challenges (I'm sloooowly writing a book series).
Thank you for the new episode and all your hard work, Java! And your stubbornness is glorious!

I too didn't think it's possible for me to get 36* in this abyss, but after few hours of trial and practice I did it. And you should see my builds - you can't watch at my weapons and artifacts without tears. :D
Congrats. I've been 36* starring the abyss constantly for about a year now and this one is the first that made me really struggle, so for me at least it was the hardest abyss yet. And you managed to get your first 36* on this account in it. I'm proud
This has nothing on the 3.7 Abyss tbh. That was a nightmare. Waves upon waves of consecrated beasts that constantly one-shot you with reactions.
Sometimes i forget how good Java's edits are.. I legit smiled because i was there ever since spells only seris was teased and watched every episode!
This CC deserves all the support in the world, the archery challenge video alone was a feat. But every time he does one of these awesome edits i just marvel at how masterful it is!!

I honestly could still improve a ton when it comes to edits. There are visions I have in my mind of what I'd like certain edits to look like, but I don't know how to actually make them a reality based on my editing tools. However, every time I do try to create one of these more edited "bits", I try to make it better than the last. Watching back the Swords Only Spiral Abyss clear, I actually don't love how I edited it now. I'd change a lot, which I think means I'm slowly improving, haha.

nahida's burst wasnt necessary for the hyperbloom side, as it only buffs the on-fielder's EM and neither of your electros were on-field. sure, it slightly increases the rate of her dendro app, but she already applies so much dendro that her burst is more of a timeloss than anything

Congrats Java! The editing during the "montage" where you beat it was great! The use of your line regarding the miracle and then pairing it with Neuvillette and the colours. It was really good!
That edit at the end where the 3 star clear was was epic by the way. It really has felt like a journey how far things have come from nothing to today and all the challenges that have been faced along the way, overcoming the most ridiculous problems that wouldn’t be faced by a normal player. It truly felt like the protagonist of a story finally meeting their end and I’m glad you did it at the end even though the sanity from your voice was less and less every passing minute of the video

Well now that I've watched all of spells only it's time to crack open the swords only playlist.
18:30 heizou can actually be a decent sub dps with just his elemental burst which can hit 40k the first tick and additional 20k from swirl which is not so bad for a sub dps in your case, too sad im too late for saying that
you weren't the only 1 on that monolith. I did entire floor 11 without getting that 1 star and later just put every Pyro and Anemo char I own and did it lmao. I never able to 36 star abyss (bin playing for 200 days now) but this time I did 30 star which is improvement for me

Neuvi's damage scales with hp, so that set really wouldn't help him anyways
@@JavaTheCup True, I do realise that. But for me, when I was first struggling with abyss and was seconds off. Did all I could to buff any source of damage.
The attack % could help Mona, Sucrosse just do a little bit more dmg each time which could make up the difference.
Every abyss is now "defeat these 3-5 waves of enemies with around 500k to 2M hp, each on the other side of the field" for one round and for the second "defeat this one boss with 3M+ hp that is invulnerable/takes no damage for about 30-80% of the fight" (disclaimer, I have no clue how much hp they actually have, I'm just going off feels)
