It's actually more common than you would think. I had a friend when I was younger who wasn't allowed to go trick or treating either. I've also run into a few kids at work who are in the same boat. It's a little out of the norm but people believe what they believe.

a lot of christians dont let their kids celebrate it. I went to an episcopal school for 10 years and the preacher there was devoutly religious so we were not allowed to even talk about halloween because he said it was a day to glorify the devil, its pretty stupid.

The big candy bars on Halloween is pretty normal lol. You see it mostly in rich areas though. In my hometown there's this hill you drive up it's called lundbar hills and it's where all these big houses are and when I was younger I'd go there to get the candy bars 😂😂
