I'M SO GLAD OTHER GENERATIONS ARE ENJOYING LYNYRD SKYNYRD IN MY OPINION THE GREATEST BAND OF ALL TIME
Skynyrd was "my band" back then. I was so crushed when that plane crash happened. I still have the original album "STREET SURVIVORS" that was instantly pulled from the shelves and replaced after the crash because it showed Steve Gaines engulfed in flames. I went and got mine so quickly that I scored that cover before it was replaced.
October 22nd, 1977. Three days before my 13th birthday. I heard about it from the newspaper a few days after the crash. It was a very different time then. If you missed the news on TV, that was it,it wasn't 24/7 like now. I lost all of my albums to hurricane Hugo in '89, which included my original flaming Street Survivors. I have an original replacement, but it's not the same. 🇺🇲✌️🇺🇲

The greatest rock and roll band of all-time they can play anything I grew up in Jacksonville Florida not only did we have Lynyrd Skynyrd but Molly.38 special The Allman Brothers were here for a little but Ronnie Van zandt was the once in a hundred years talent

One of my very favorite Skynyrd tunes right there. The Gimme Back My Bullets album is actually their next to last studio album. And it only has two guitarists on it. Ed King had left the band, so only Gary and Allen played on this particular album. The next album Street Survivors was the last studio album before the crash. It had their new guitarist, Steve Gaines on it. But you're right, you could tell they were really honing their craft on those last two albums. I can't imagine how far they could have gone if tragedy hadn't struck.
Keep on with this band. They have so many amazing songs. I'm gonna request the song Made in the Shade for your next reaction. You'll enjoy that one too.

Dude! I could see the Gospel in your face when the backup singers kicked in. Ronnie's Mules. That's what the lead singer,Ronnie Van Zandt called them. I'm so glad you got to hear and feel the power and soul of Lynyrd Skynyrd that I have enjoyed for nearly 50 years. 🇺🇲✌️🇺🇲

I saw them at Pine Knob back in June of 1976. I liked a couple of their songs, but didn't know much about their music other than the three or four songs that had been played on the radio up to that point. I was absolutely blown away from the very first song. I think they started with 'Workin For MCA'. Every song was fantastic, and I was a fan for life. They had so much energy. I saw them again that December and had tickets to see them on Halloween night in 1977. The plane crash happened about 10 days before that show. What a loss for the world of music, but their songs live on forever, and so do my memories of those two concerts. Those two shows are right up there with my all-time favorites.

Skynyrds last album in the studio was Street Survivors. That is the final one with new guitarist Steve Gaines. Listen to that and learn how even more greater than ever they became.. Play Things Goin On from Pronounced, I Need You from Second Helping, Cheatin Woman from Nuthin Fancy, Trust from Gimme Back My Bullets and I Never Dreamed from Street Survivors. Those are my picks for you to analyze. One hidden gem from each of their studio albums in succession. Enjoy. And play more Skynyrd moments, thank you. Funny side note, Ed and Steve share the same birthday as well as being the third guitarist for this magnificent group.

Street survivors was the last studio album of that version of the band. It's their most polished album and loaded with great shit.
Hell yeah, Biz! I love this deep cut, the live cut is unreal too, they were my first concert. Check out Lend A Helpin Hand & Need All My Friends. The documentary if I leave here tomorrow, is awesome I would highly recommend it if you haven’t seen it yet.

Vince if you want to see Skynyrd at their best Check them out live in the Fox theater in Atlanta Georgia It was a live recording of the album One More From the Road But talking about this song Cry For the Bad Man It’s one of my favorite Skynyrd songs and this whole album is their best work to me Check out Trust on this same album All of Skynyrd’s songs are fire But this whole album is fire from the first song to the last Also check out Am I Losing Again This is another great song You are starting to get into some of Skynyrd’s best songs Double Trouble,I’m a Country Boy,Am I Losing Trust,One More Time and Coming Home are some more great songs from this band

Vince you don’t even have to worry about waiting on someone to suggest a new song from LS Just start at their first album and play every song on every album and I guarantee you want be disappointed This album Give Me Back My Bullets is their best album to me The song Trust and Am I Losing Again,Coming Home All of the songs on this album are some of their best work On the album One More For The Road is another great album The song One More Time is fire But like I said I have never heard of another band that every song they played was a good song To me LS is by far the best rock band ever and if Ronnie had not died on that plane crash there’s no telling how far this band would have gone RIP to the best to ever play music

I'd pick Gimme back my bullets album over all the others. The first two have their most well known hits, but Gimme Back my Bullets has grit and I love them.

This album for me was my favorite by far. It had a different feel than any other, before or the one after which as others have stated was actually the last one other than the live one. Every song on that album was great in my opinion, it just had a bite in soulful dirty gritty feel to it. When it came out it spent a long time in my 8 track player as the only thing I listened to before I changed it out for something else.
